Setting: Tropical Island This kind of place is where you spawn Guess what? Last night? That was a thunderstorm. A pretty bad one, indeed. The power is out all over the island, chances of it getting back on? Pretty much zero. Wanna know why? All the electricians are dead. Wanna know why? I mean, when has that ever worked out? Basic DayZ rules apply. Perma-death, you start without a weapon, have to get food, drink, etc. The good stuff. To get weapons, you scavenge former park rangers vehicles/tree stands/stations & security checkpoints. Bear ain't got shit on a T-Rex Food can be gathered from one of two sources: 1) Canned supplies 2) Killed dinos. Except of course, gunshots attract all kinds of pre-historic creatures, so watch the fuck out. Locations vary from this to this to this Each are has its own kind of 'saur which is native to it (i.e. raptors in tall grass, pterodactyl in plains), plus a bunch of generic ones you can find anywhere. T-Rex and other super-carnivores are very limited per server and basically roam randomly. Oh, also, they're pretty much un-killable. Just hide in the tall grass, thick woods, caves or whever. Watch out for raptors though. The Elektro/Cherno equivalent would be the main visitor area with its souvenir shops, hospital, hotels & shopping mall. And Dinos, don't forget the Dinos. The rest of the map obviously wouldn't be just jungle, either. Just like Chernarus has its sporadic towns, etc, this little island has its ranger stations, airfield and sporadic bungalow clusters. Except keep in mind that in this world, the jungle isn't any safer than the town. For higher level players, there's a semi-connected network of tunnels, underground laboratories and bunkers which are accessible through various locations throughout the map. Like this Or this... This area is both more and less dangerous than the surface. The smaller space means that large dinos, such as the T-Rex, etc, obviously aren't present, though smaller, more agile beasts still are. Like Asians. And Raptors Also, since there still isn't any power (duh), the most you get is emergency lighting, if at all, which means you're completely dependant on chemlights, flashlights, flares, etc - which of course give away your position and are known to attract... you know it: Other players. Oh, and raptors. So there you have it: With only a few changes we could have the best Mesozoic Park game ever attempted. From what I gather Rocket, you still have like, a few months until the DayZ standalone is supposed to be finished. So if you could just include these minor changes...
