Bushfires + wood in forests + packs of animals + fishing
dale replied to _Profile_Shame's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Bush-fires are definitely not possible sorry :/ wood in forest easy. Wild dogs +1(maybe even zombie dogs) Fishing is easy. Dismemberment possible but not in the way your thinking The bush fire is not possible because it would be a massive load on your system, think how smoke grenades are and times that by 2 and youll get your minus frame rate. Dismemberment is possible but not show able, so you could lose an arm but it wont show in game, it will just give you major aim problems etc. -
Set zombies on fire with flares.

maybe but I don't think it can be done with this engine in the way you might think, but ive played I44 and that had a burning system in it with the flame-thrower. -
I agree to some extent with what you are saying, in the way that the hospital has tons of medical supplies the other buildings should have certain items more frequent in them.

+1 to this great idea :)

Give it time they will be im sure :) they just need to implement it in a way that is approachable such as making the wheel model etc so that you can scavenge the correct parts and repair it with out the thinking of "this car wheel is not a bike wheel".

aye there's already some in arma 2 but maybe their working on something different? Arma 2 Vehicle List ArmaTechSquad Vehicle, Weapons, Skins list

Well the essence of a rewards system would have to be two way wouldnt it, so you could go on amount of zombies killed/and the amount of zombies not killed, have you gone 3 days without a single zombie kill? then they find it harder to see you/hear you, have you killed every zombie in sight? then you do more damage to zombies. statistics and perks always work in games like this to improve the aspect or element of that game by offering multiple rewards for the same statistic. You just don't make it shatteringly game changing and it works to the advantage of the player but doesn't make them the rambo of the 'Zland.

I really like the idea, and its random too which adds a bit of work into it, I would see a problem with people being suicidal to get the perk they want but that can easily be overcome. Would add more of an element of working together into the mix meaning more bandits will find it harder to survive without depending on a survivor. Good suggestion +1

Good Ideas :) there was a Gyro in Arma I think, a lot of fun to play with and could get you out of a tight spot easily :)

Hey all We are an international clan looking for hardcore teamplayers, bear in mind this is not purely a recruitment message, those who don't want to join RGG but want to play alongside are more than welcome to. What we offer: Forums [RGG] Forums Teamspeak: 85.25.99.104 We run all our servers and TS/Forums etc on our Dedi Server. You will find we work in large groups to accomplish better end game content in DayZ (vehicles/camps etc) and to protect each other. We are currently a part of the |TG| DayZ group so if you want to play with large groups who own camps vehicles etc then register and join the DayZ group on there first. Please bear in mind we are not purely a DayZ group so there will be other mods and missions you can play when times get boring on DayZ, we focus on PR/ACE/ACER/I44, which we have two servers to focus on these game modes. One last thing is no players under 18 are allowed to join RGG its purely a mature environment, do not expect any loosening of the rules any time soon. you can find our steam group on here: RGG Steam Group Or you can find me here: [RGG]Dale Hope to see you soon :) Best Regards Dale

Good one man enjoyed watching the vid @vonweissenwulf (what a leetist) you sound like a kid, you are a kid, get away from Arma 2 and go back to your COD. The weapons are fine the technique is that of someone from before DayZ and a military background, go for the torso girls. Maybe all these people who bought Arma 2 for DayZ will realise theres people who have been here for a decade before them. check this site out ;) http://www.armaholic.com/ Sorry about that everyone but when I see a closed mind I must enlighten them. This game is bigger than you think people. -

Thats not true :) ive been playing Arma since day 1 (and a bit of OFP) and I can tell you now there are a lot of inexperienced Arma players who are easily being gunned down in large groups. In fact ive found it easier to take out 5 survivors by myself in a town every time than I have going in group to group warfare, working in groups helps when you've got a really organised team, usually several two man groups. All working in an area with two sitting with snipers, and a two man team of one winchester(PvE) another Assault rifle(PvP), and another two man group of what are supply holders (can hold whatever but have large amounts of food water and carry the heavy stuff such as tires and engine parts). If you make those all follow each other of course they are going to take ages. Try to get everyone into a 1 km line, when you get to a town reorg on a position and prepare to move in by setting your players out (if you've got a tent fill it and save) then move in to the town with the snipers set up and covering in good areas, also if you do come into contact with other survivors you spread out the risk of everyone dying. Do that several times and soon you'll be pros ;), it will take several minutes to get set up and youll be in and out of the town in no time with snipers taking out other survivors before your main team even gets there.

When I do get far north I move into forests near Devils Castle and Petrovka, a lot of bandits near the Airfield but I never really attempt to go there, I can live a subsistent life of rabbits and the occasional cow up there with good loot available around those areas. Some point im going to make my way up to Misty Peak and take a look there :)

There is no need to sign up, you can put your name down though so people can see your attending or your wanting to form a group etc, all you need to do is turn up on our teamspeak and get playing/talking :). If you would like to get in contact with me to ask questions then you can add me on steam at: thejackalkernel or send me an email to dale@rggprclan.com You can find the event here: [RGG] DayZ Event (27/05/2012) The Teamspeak IP is: 85.25.99.104 (This teamspeak is public and open to anyone at all times) You can also find us here at: RGG Steam Group
