I have killed and been killed, usually at random and in self-defense. However, I seek revenge from time to time but haven't got the first clue about stalking a known player through the vast map. I hear a lot of stories such as "..He killed me so we tracked his ass down and split his skull and stole his shit..." My question is this, how the hell does one go about finiding and stalking a particular person, given the enormity of the map? You know where he was previously I get that, but what then?

265 days on an inactive character, now. I log in take a screenshot and leave. 21 days with my current character who actually goes out and does stuff.

I've had 3 long lived charcters thus far, 33 days, 14 days and 8. 33 day man is still alive on public servers, 14 day me met his end today in Starry Sobor, and 8 is my most recent and still going. I still make stupid mistakes, trust issues, overun by Z's in a building, crashing and breaking my face on the dash, etc. My question is does your staying alive for this long come through skill or just dumb luck?

I stashed myself in the woods, with a healthy supply of beans on October 12th 2012. I've been in Afghanistan for the last 6 months and haven't played, I get back in a couple of days and was wondering, after updating DayZ will I still be there, in the woods ready to go hunting? It's been killing me as I've been itching to play the whole time as I just got into the game shortly before leaving. If I have to start on the coast one more time it's no great shakes but it would be a pleasant suprise to find myself by my tent when I first log in.

Hahahaha I've only found him. Not played for a while so knew nothing of privat ehives and all that jazz, logged into a public server, BAM there he is, 263 days survived and counting!!

A friendly warning for those playing UK based servers. My Missus wanted to see the reason I neglect her texts and calls everyday while she's a work and I'm off during the day. To which end she has had a go using my name this evening. If you see me, it might not be me, if I have a girls voice it's probably not me. In one hour she was bloodbagged by an admin, headshot a zombie with her one remain lee enfield round, admin sorted her out with an m16 acog (maybe) she put several bursts into his head at point blank range, stole his SUV at NWAF, died in Vybor, respawned and asked for help from the very same admin. She is currently in a treeline near Vybor awaiting a pickup. All with me watching helplessly over her shoulder. Suprsingly she's pretty fucking good for a civvy.

I like to be safe for a time and steel myself for the town and cities. I can't help but love player interaction because it's so unpredictable, sometimes paying dividends other times leaving up shit creek with out a pulse.

33 days, that character is still alive on public servers but I've moved my ass to a private hive and started a new character.

I'm in the same situation, returning to Chenerus after a short vacation. Cannot wait to get stuck back into the fray. Hackers, meh, you're gonna find em sooner or later. I fell in with a bunch very early in the game before I knew any better and they seemed kind of cool, it just takes the fun out of scavenging and I don't see the point. Can't comment on the current state of hacking as I won't be logging in for another few days. Hopefully they don't put you off returning to an unbelievable gaming experience.

Hmmm, you're probably right. I thought the initial scrounging from beach huts quite fun anyway, so it shall be a pleasure to build up my stock of tinned goods yet again.

Ok so you arrive on Chernerus with sand in your mouth and a salt water enema, find a weapon, get a decent pack, some food, drink and a decent place to camp and store some kit. What comes next? Now I enjoying camping in the woods and hunting for food, I have an abundance of fresh water to fill my bottles from, and the occasional ration dash into Electro/Cherno for those creature comforts. I like the sense of satisfaction having snuck in and out without any major hassle. I bump into people from time to time, help them out if I can, cautiously shoot the breeze and go our seperate ways. What goals should I set myself? Suggestions......

I was thinking of opening up a "tuck-shop" from my tent selling nibbles and cans of pop. My tent is full, so I went on a scavenge into Electro, no tent but a big fat hairy arsed DMR and 4 magazines, PROF! Might turn my attention on the bandits for a spell.

I had heard of the buggy tents and the aggro they cause palyers by dissapearing and all other manner of shittness. But it just happened to ME for the first time, this can't happen to ME, WHY!? POR QUE!? WARUM!? POUR QUOI!? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! All my lovely shiny things!

I'm experiencing a problem with the HUD since I updated this morning. Everything is green, and I've been running around for ages, been knocked unconscious by a zombie, lost blood and bandaged myself. Nothing, none of the health meters have budged. Also the sight and sound meters aren't working anymore, I flat out sprint on concrete in broad daylight and not a peep from the meters. Was just wondering if anyone else is seeing similar?

UK 22 (SAS) server, I've been playing on that exclusively since I started playing. They have a siteforum and team speak and always populated to capacity.

Playing just now, respawned from dying last night and have a little bit of a trek from Kamenka to Cherno, I get there after a quick stop at the airstrip enroute and head for the fire station No weapons. So I head to the supermarket and find all sorts of cool stuff, hew bergen, map , compas, binos, the whole toolbelt almost. Footsteps, and silenced gunfire. I yell "friendly" and the guy passes me without a word, then retraces his steps back into the room and takes me out. COCKSUCKER

I'll be looking for you tonight around 1800 once I finish work. I've been checking the forums for a UK server using 1.7.2.5 and I just found it. Can't remember where I set up camp last night before logging off but i'll be somewhere in the northern outskirts of Chernogorsk.
