Yeah that's fair enough, I only asked because of all the DayZ FPS and SLI improvement guides show people at least getting 50-60% GPU usage. I've just been on for a few hours playing in Novo and was averaging 21% GPU usage :-\ I read on a few threads that ingame settings on Normal or Low use CPU but High or V-High use GPU, but I tried all different settings and nothing changed. Plus my CPU isn't being caned, it's a 3770k @ 4.9 and it averages 40% usage while in DayZ.

The question is though...... Will they fix it in the final build! I don't fully understand how it all works, but will they just stick with BattleEye which seems to be as good at keeping away the hackers as a hamster protecting your house against burglars.

Oh wow, no I could just roll my eyes and say, "Stupid little squeakers" if they were all 12yo. But almost "ALL" hackers that have spoken to me or my squad mates are Adults! They clearly sound like they are between 20 and 35. One of my mates even asked a guy who was trolling him how old he was and why do it, he said 32..... 32 frickin years old! And proceeded to say, because I can, it's fun making people rage and generally f*ck everyone's day up. Plus DayZ is too easy, hacking take skill..... "Skill" LMAO.

From the start of the year up to June, I only bumped into 2 or 3 hackers in all that time, it was a pain but didn't seem too bad, you're always going to get a few douche-nozzles. But over recent weeks/couple of months I can't remember one single night I've been on without seeing someone teleporting, or spraying 2000 rounds a second from an M4 at me..... It's been so frequent, my team mates and I have resorted to playing on low pop/almost empty servers to avoid them. A few recent encounters: I get killed (Legit), I spawn in Dubrovka, I take a few seconds to get my bearings, nothing but open fields around me, suddenly out of nowhere.... two fully geared guys are 5 meters away from me. I said hello, they didn't reply. They dropped food for me, I said thank you and picked it up, it was in my jeans pocket, then suddenly it disappeared. Then one put an axe down for me, I reluctantly picked it up, it disappeared. Then one dropped an M4 on the ground for me, then another one, then another.... then another...... Then I was blinded by a flashbang, I got my sight back and they had moved off slightly, when "BANG", 2 grenades goes off, I'm dead, then on the black screen what sounded like another dozen grenades go off. 4 Team mates plus myself heading north towards Novo as another one of our clan said there is a squad camping the Novo clock tower sniping everyone. So we move up and get to within sight of Novo, I was rear guard, suddenly Agro from behind but not on us. I spot a player speeding across the field at what must have been 70mph, before I can say anything 2-3 more speed in from other directions and unlimited M4 shots start raining on us from all directions. The very next day, one of our guys is killed (Legit), he starts heading back to us when 3 guys suddenly appear next to him and preceded to shot him in the leg. He calls out "Dudes come on, I'm a fresh spawn you can see that". They then bandaged him up and said sorry, and that they was just spooked so they shot. They asked if he was alone, he replied yes, which he was at the time, we were all 1-2km away. The scumbags replied, Yeah....... we know you ain't we can see you squad mates. Laughed, called him a C**t and shot him. We all scrambled for cover to log out, (Not going to bother trying against hackers), before we could do so, calls start raining out, "I'm dead, no idea how", "Yep, I'm dead too", "Yep me as well", Oh some guys just appeared infront of me..... I'm dead".Today is Friday, this is what I've encountered so far "THIS WEEK". It's making a lot of people I know myself included, think about uninstalling until the end of the year at which time hopefully it might be less common.

I just wanted to ask a few peoples opinion about the hacking issue, thought it might help me blow off some steam. Is it just me or is the hacking getting worse and a lot more frequent?? I would hazard a guess that you simply ain't looking in the right places, because LRS used to be a rare commodity that myself, and fellow squad members would be overjoyed if we found one. But now, they are ten a penny, we all have one, and a few backups just in case. As for the player wipe, some servers are on different shards, some are official, some are not..... Everyone is finding this. It's frustrating, yes. But you knew what you wre signing up for when you bought the game.

I guess the Melee hit box issue must be a connection thing or something, because myself and no one in my clan has an issue with it, we all find it just as easy, too easy in fact. They should need multiple hits from any weapon IMO, even headshots.

Good, guns and ammo should be like extremely rare and difficult to find.

From what I have seen and heard, tents cannot be placed on rooftops, they will appear in the nearest available spot on the ground.

Hi everyone, I was chased for ages by a squad of players spawn camping on the coast so I ran and ran, but now I'm clear of them, I'm wondering where the hell I am. I know a few new towns/villages have been added recently but they all seem have been added to the maps on the Wiki and DayzDB, so I can't work out where I am. Town Description: I know I'm somewhere near Novodmitrovsk, slightly West of it I think, but there is no place on the maps that relates to it. There is a large lake surrounded by a small concrete wall, a large factory building right next to it, and a Military Camo building about 50m South of the lake, plus a water-pump in a largeish open area North of the lake, and around 30 residential houses. Does anyone know where this is and the name of the town??? Thanks in advance.

No I'm pretty sure I was a good 3km west of there, because the squad that was hunting me started chasing me around that area. I would roughly say I was somewhere around 107-013. Because after I lost them I ran East following the clouds and ended up in Cernaya Polana. And yeah I have to ask as well, what's wrong with the water??

I've been away from DayZ SA since just after Christmas as I got a little too addicted I kind of burnt myself out, so I took a break for a few months. Now I have come back to it, could some of you please give me the gist of the Big "Need to know" changes??? I saw straight away that it doesn't seen to have been optimised any, fps still seems to be an issue in cities, and I noticed a respawn delay was added, I guess to stop ghosting and loot farming. Anything else major??? Appreciate it, regards

Wow ok never mind, as it's been 6 months and there's been dozens of updates, I thought I might ask for a "Friendly" person or two that could offer a brief synopsis of the major changes, not "Everything" and you don't need to spoon feed me or play it for me, just major changes like the respawn delay I mentioned, or the food and drink system has changed........ Because with so many changes I'm sure some things have been implemented but they don't work properly or doing something can cause this bug to happen e.t.c.., I thought it was a fair enough question. But I guess that was silly of me to ask a for a heads up on a forum, never mind.

Hi everyone, so I've been away from DayZ SA since just after Christmas as I binge on it so much I kind of burnt myself out, so I took a break for a few months. Now I have come back to it, I'm trying to get my setup right again, I used this guide "Here" for setting up SLI which I know DayZ doesn't have proper support for yet but it did help with performance, it worked back in January but doesn't seem to work for me now. I've made all the changes again, checked them half a dozen times or more, but still SLI isn't working. 1 GPU is at 99%, the other is at 10% or lower, I've even tried it on 2 different rigs but I get the same results. Anyone got any ideas??? Appreciate it.

Figured it out, it just needed a "Clean" Driver install. All sorted :) Thread can be locked.

Thanks, I'll have a good read through it. Appreciate it, all drivers are up to date though and my performance is pretty good, but I know it can be a lot better with SLI enabled, even if it's not truly suppported ATM.

Yep I'm the same, I've been determined to play with a "Everyone deserves a chances" mentality since the release day. But seriously what's the point!!! DayZ has become so popular now, which is great but also really bad. Because all the little derps, trolls and kids have jumped on the bandwagon now. Example, earlier today..... My character glitched out by dropping through the floor of a building, after what seemed like an hour of me and my buddies trying everything to get me out, I called enough, and they put me out my misery. So, I spawned on the coast about 1km away from Electro, awesome I thought. But within 2 mins of spawning out in the middle of nowhere with "Nothing" to my name not even my flashlight, a fully kitted guy in Military gear appears from behind a building. I stopped, put my hands up and said: "Hey buddy, it's call I'm a fresh spawn. No weapon, no food, no nothing". He used VoIP and replied: "Where are going?". I replied: "Not sure lol. Just look for some food I guess." BANG! He killed me :huh: No idea. Ok, so I respawn again, after a few mins I make it to the lumber mill, again no backpack, no weapon, no "Nothing!" I hear footsteps behind me...... a guy with an axe! I call "Friendly", "I don't have anything I just spawned 60 seconds ago!" But of course he tries hitting me with the Axe. I try to evade him while calling out "Dude! I DON'T HAVE ANYTHING AT ALL!" Finally he speaks..... He couldn't have been more than 10 years old! Giggling away to himself and calling out "Stand still little bitch". Finally he landed a blow and that's all she wrote. Right, different server this time...... Well I'm not gonna rank on any longer because you know what's coming. 2 mins from spawning, nothing on me what so ever. 2 maybe 3 guys, looked fairly kitted up, camping the coast hiding in the tree line....... "You are Dead." > :( No more, enough is enough. If all these little nuck-fuggets are gonna try ruining this game by turning it into Call of DayZ where the aim is "Not" to have fun or play any aspect of the game, but just to ruin everyone else's fun and generally upset and troll everyone, well I'm not gonna make it easy for them. If they're a complete fresh spawn, no backpack no nothing I will leave them alone but I will watch them like a hawk! Other than that....... "It moves, it's dies!

Yeah I have the same thing, it's very very strange. I logged off the game about 8 hours ago "Before The Update", I was fairly kitted up in civilian Hero-esque clothing. I just returned to the game "After The Update" and found myself as a fresh spawn on the coast! This was on a Regular server. That server was lagging, so I hopped into a different Regular server and to my surprise my character was fully geared in Military gear! :-\ LOL This was a character I had about 5 days ago that "Died" as a result of the bloody annoying "Vault as you try to climb a ladder" glitch. So I tried a few more regular servers and discovered that my character changes from this old Dead character and a fresh spawn in different servers even if they are all regular ones. I tried Hardcore servers and I seem to be a fresh spawn in all of those. Not complaining, just very strange and surprising....... and confusing :huh:

Hi everyone, I just wanted to ask about the new experimental patch that just rolled out. Firstly, my knowledge of servers and hives isn't great, so bare with me. But as I understand it, the reason people can server hop and ghost is because all servers are connected to a central hive, meaning all player data is saved and accessible on any server, did I get that right? If I did, then private hives would sort of solve this correct? Anyway so I was reading the changelog and I saw the mention of "Sub-Hives", is this the same thing, does it mean private servers and hives will be showing up soon? Sorry if I've got this ass backwards, I'm just very interested as I'm sick to the back teeth of people logging/alt-F4'ing, ghosting and everyone having full military kit within 15 mins of spawning from server hopping. Some wisdom would be appreciated, thanks to all =)
