Hey whats the rarest gun you have found in Day Z, doesn't have to be in the loot table. For example I found a M4SPR yesterday, M4 variant set up as a DMR. Pretty sweet and takes stanag rounds. This is not a discussion board of the moral implications of using these guns lol.

Hey I looked and didn't see any suggestions like this. I think day z would benefit from some sort of camo netting, mesh, tarp that could be used to better conceal vehicles from a passerby. The forests in lingor and chenarus are pretty sparse in some places, so it is pretty hard to effectively hide a colorful vehicle. Let me know what you think.

Hey quick question for the community. Was playing on a server last night, its a private hive lingor server if that's relevant, and I found a DMR. Now I'm relatively familiar with the scoped rifles in the game, which is why I was so confused when I noticed this DMR's ability to be zero'd up to 800 m... To clarify I found this rifle not on someones person but in a military spawn in Calamar. Mod'd weapons? Glitch? Or did arma change this gun in a recent patch? Lets me know if you've ever seen this.

Ya I think he just typo'd, I'm pretty sure he just meant that at tier two of zoom the cross hairs are zero'd at 400m. Just because it's not zeroable ( aka can't be adjusted) does not mean it doesn't have a default zero. Every type of optics has a zero, largely though most deal with such short ranges that you wont notice, it only really matters when using a optic around x4 and up.

Mmm then I wonder what its defaulted to so i can continue using the mil dots as I know them. I always thought the zeroing of the second level of zoom was 350 m maybe its only 300 m.

Inaccurate? Please explain, from my experiences with the DMR the zeroing on the graphic hold true, and If your referring to the chart giving zeroing recommendations that was my mistake and is something covered in the original posts.

Very good question and my bad for not specifying. You must be at the second level of zoom ( if your rifle offers two levels ) for this to be accurate. So this only applies to the M107 and AS50. The DMR has its own system as it cant be zeroed.

The actual charted information depicts what to set your zeroing to, depending on how tall your man sized standing target is in mil dots. Find your rifle in the chart, find your targets height in mil dots, and it gives the aprox. distance and advised zeroing.

Well you have to understand that the vast majority of users on here, being male, have become rather jaded at the idea of an attractive female playing this game/ wanting to play with them. Therefore (in their mind) you become a 300 lb male troll.

A ranging chart I made for zeroing Mil Dot Rifles. Should work with everyone but the DMR (which has its own system). Let me know what you think. If you have any corrections or revisions please post them below.

Mmm from what I've observed I don't think this can be correct. I am not sure on the DMR but I know that the M24 and the M107 both go off 1.8 Which would make that chart incorrect. Plus I'm not sure what the M1072 and the AS502 are referring to. What about it?

So a little more research on the matter and it turns out the that the AS50 uses 1.375 m as the player height, while the M24 and M107 use 1.8 m as the player height. That being said the chart above works for the M24 and the M107. Using this formula: (1.8x1000)/( Height in Mil Dots) AS50 uses 1.375 m as player height. Using this formula: (1.375x1000)/(Height in Mil Dots) If there's any interest in seeing updated charts on these I don't mind doing them, but since there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of interest in this lol, so I'll wait and see.

Ya when I was making this I came across a couple different accounts on whether people are 1.8 or 1.4/1.3 Wasn't sure If the was actual height difference or a difference between the as50/m107 and the m24 scopes.

So yes hacking is a big problem in Day Z. From dupeing to teleporting to insta killing it is seemingly a part of life. So I have a question. Why are there only a few hacked weapons and vehicle? Bare in mind here Im not talking in quantity here but in varity. I mean if I took the time to learn how to hack this mod, you can bet the last thing I'd spawn for myself would be a thermal scoped 50 cal... There's a whole assortment of silenced rifles and such that would be much more fun and entertaining to use. And dont even get me started on vehicles. Who the fuck spawns a SUV when theres a AH-1 helo w/ auto cannon... I guess Im just upset because not only do we have to deal with hackers, we have to deal with the most uncreative bunch of losers known to the community. Come on guys, if your going to cheat at least cheat in something cool...

In the early days me and my buddie were walking across a field valley with a dirt road running down the middle. Valley was probably 800 meters aross so we had no cover. I say to my friend, "OMG Dean its a motorcycle!!! You know what this means man a two seated joy ride boo yaaa" Hops on bike... Takes bullet in head..... RUN DEAN RUN!!!!!!!

To the hacker teddy, If not for your hacking abilities I dont think you would ever kill anyone... Granted you did get me with an AS50 the first time, but lets be realistic, I doubt you were outside 100 meters. Seriously how could you let me hatchet you to death, you came to my spawn to kill me again, only this time with an M4 CCO SD. And I actually got close enough to hatchet you as you shot me. maybe you just didn't care, or were really drunk lol. Anyway I spawned in the same place again and got more than enough gear off your dead ass to compensate for the original murder. Thanks for the Rangefiner, NVGs, and Gillie suit teddy!!!

Jesus ok my bad...

A tale of my first kill and murder (hence the bandit campfire). So a few days ago my buddies and I were raiding stary. We had already hit the military installation and were moving onto the rest of the town for supplies and car parts. I was running lookout on the hill, or "overwatch" if your a dayz douche lol. Unfortunately I had one friend at either end of town so I was haveing trouble keeping tabs on both of them. Then there was a pop... pop.. pop.. curseing over voice chat. My buddies been shot in the back, great... here's to failing at my job. Apparently my friend went down right at the entrance to the store. I roll over and get a good view of his body and range it. I know he was killed at relatively close range, from hearing the shots, and my buddie said he saw him run by as he was bleeding out. Heart pounding out of my chest, I size up the shot. 207 meters. Not a reccord breaker in anyones book but for a potiental first kill not horrible. I'm useing a DMR, zooming in at tier 2 I'm zero'd at 350 meters. I aim low about a mili dot and wait. The bandit runs around and through the store's front door loseing his zombies, running right through my crosshairs. I wait, I dont want to miss and give him the chance to alt-f4. He creeps back into the doorway crouching oddly enough presenting an easy shot. Crack.... crack.. I put two on center mass, and the death ticker rolled. Now I know my pride as a sniper is on the line here for not going for the one shot one kill, but as stated above this was my first kill. And to be honest my hand was shaking like a leaf, I dont think Ive ever gotten a bigger adrenaline rush from a video game. I call in friend two to loot the corpse. M14 aim and some NVGs :) not bad. We all agreed in the end that it was worth the death. And now for my murder :/ Same spot, hill north of Stary. I had heard some shots and zed were crawling all over the place so I knew there were players about. I sat for abit watching, rangeing various targets, then I spotted him. He was looting the military tents on the Northeast side. I range him 238 meters, notice he has M4A1 CCO SD... Was I going to kill him before. you ask? Pro***ly not, but now Im not so sure. I think to my self, that would go really nice with my gillie suit, but I really dont want to be an asshole. I mean what if this kid's friendly and would like to squad up? But alas I have no way to contact him without puting myself at excessive risk. Like the average player I have been KOS too many times, most of which from an assailant unseen. He moves to another tent closer to me, presenting a clean shot. I tense but dont shot (my buddies in my ear at this point telling me not to be an asshole, and is this really the type of player you want to be speal). Crack.. crack.. crack... I guess so, three shots was definatly alittle overkill, but hey he was on the move and my buddie was bitching in my ear lol. The weird thing was I really didn't think I was going to shoot him, then in that split second decision greed won over and I did... We recovered his body, he had two M4s on him one being the SD. Do I feel bad? Yes, but at the end of the day this game really is kill or be killed and hey thats part of the fun. Sorry Jake I wish we could of been friends.
