it's funny how everyone gets so up in arms about how they would sue everyone for stupid shit. I don't think they realize that thousands in court costs aren't worth their 20$ prorated server rent. Also why is everyone so up in arms defending a server that did something that harms the general population? Hiding behind legal code us pointless, especially when the law takes no consideration for for common sense and reality. Wouldn't you rather some guy running a server that has the potential to ruin the experiences of most of the people playing lose 20 bucks than for the experiences to be ruined for the sake of his 20 bucks? My only concern in all this is was the admin of seattle 35 spoken with before it all began: was there any "Hey dude, turn battleye on please" or did he just wake up this morning with no server?
  2. force nameplates to be on, and when someone kills someone else, make a message that pops up "X was killed by Y". I only go on rampages of PKing when name plates and death reports are off.
  3. it's easy to get out of debug forest, but when you spawn there you have no gear so you're still shafted...
  4. I'm not defending this (though I find myself doing it some times) but people believe if they start a new thread they will get the attention that they deserve for their new and unique view, or opinion that no one has thought of before; if they post in an already existing on-topic thread, no one will see their genius ideas.
  5. Rocket has already said that this kinda thing won't happen in a prohibitive manner. Though he does have an idea for humanity that he's gonna be implementing later so we'll just have to wait and see. Your argument about never having the desire to murder anyone else no matter what is pretty invalid, considering the setting of the game isn't modern day rat race new york, it's the zombie apocalypse. If the world was reduced to ashes and the survival of myself and the people I care about depended upon the can of beans that you are holding, you best believe I'll kill you and take it.

Which T-Shirt design would you buy?

I would have voted for "you are dead" if it looked more like the actual screen with the hand in the background. but for now, my vote is with the logo.

    Build 1.5.8 rolling update

None of the file servers have sfx or weapons 1.1.2, just 1.1.1.
  10. For the part you quoted of me, That's pretty much exactly what I meant about society making rules and how that isn't in the game. Also I may have messed up my english, I meant, basically, no one values any life other than their own.
  11. I've skimmed the 8 pages so I may have missed someone already saying this: What if every time you logged in you started on the coast again? You would still have your gear, but you wouldn't be in your original camp spot. This defeats a few problems; No more random people spawning behind you, no more server swapping in the barracks to find gear, and your life has more value intrinsically, rather than just because you where in a good camp spot at the time. Also all this talk about world economics and such, there is no(VERY little) economy in DayZ just because anything you want you can find, you don't need to trade an AK for bandages or something. And even if you would be willing to you wouldn't trust the other person to give you the AK and not to just shoot you with it. the only economy is people healing others, usually more for humanity purposes and not as a trade. Those are the idea parts, this is just the random thought part: All people value their life, they don't want to start over or have to go searching for a map and compass again. This would lead you to believe that the life doesn't have value, the gear does (and it's true,) but to the owner, the value of his life and gear are interchangeable. The real problem is no one else values their life; this is just a matter of human nature. If there was no punishment for breaking the law, people would regularly slaughter others to get to the front of the line at McDonald's, so society created a system of law and punishment to prevent that. Rocket says he refuses to put in artificial restrictions to the players, so this is an issue that will always exist. Bandit outfits where an idea, but they obviously didn't work. Also in a primative villiage type of situation, everyone was reliant on everyone else for survival, so the all helped one another to survive(this is also the cause of most groups formed in zombie movies/games), in DayZ you can survive perfectly fine on your own, and so no one else means anything to you. Wow this went on for much longer than I intended.
