This is the stupidest fucking thing I've ever read on this forum. Are you serious? Rocket himself said that this is a social-experiment, an anti-game. The aim of this project never was to appeal to a mass audience. It just happened that a lot of people were craving for a real hardcore experience that isn't some spoon fed casualised pay-2-win garbage and holds your hands at all times. The aim of this mod is to create an authentic apocalypse experience with infected roaming the lands. Fun has no business in that kind of environment. -

Never thought about it. Great idea. Would add alot of atmosphere at night. Lighthouses would probably become gathering points at the night due to this though. Some prankster with good gear could show up and just shoot like 15 people at once. But that's just speculation. -

To the contrary' date=' it encourages teaming up. Since the new patch, I've grouped up with more strangers than ever before The aim of this mod never was to be fun. Crouch walk, prone, creep and be cautious. At this point and time, I don't take anyone seriously that talks about how hard it is to avoid zeds. Stealth in this game is very effective, some argue its overpowered. Due to the new zombie AI, you can actually outrun zombies now. -
-10^100 I've been reading "bring back the starting weapon" posts for a few days now and no argument, absolutely no one convinced me even a little. The pros of no starting weapon outweigh the cons by a large margin. I guess OP hasn't realized it that there was a huge voting on this subject. Not only is rocket for no starting weapons, most of the community is.

How come then my average lifespan is about an hour? I play the game exactly the same way as i did before the starting gun got removed. Sneak to the nearest enterable, building, loot, if you find a weapon good if you don't keep looking. I seriously can't fucking understand all the difficulties people suddenly keep having. The only explanation I have is that new players must be running around like crazy and keep getting killed by aggro zeds.

This is absolutely not true. Real life crisis', catastrophes, anarchies, civil wars etc. have shown time and time again that humans are pack animals and prefer to travel in groups. Being in groups greatly increases the chance of survival. In real life you can judge a stranger by body language, expression, clothing etc. In this game you can't. OPs suggestions are ridiculous but I'm totally for some kind of visual representation of low humanity. Be it blood on clothes/face, different posture etc. -

So let me get this straight. You think no one would kill each other shortly after spawning because of limited ammo? What happens when I do kill a player? Oh wow, another makarov mag from the guy I just killed. I think you know where this is going. Spawning with just one makarov mag would just make the shore a free-4-all. Not for beans but for makarov mags. -

You can't be serious. No' date=' this has to be a troll. Please let this be a troll. You go prone and you are invincible, INVINCIBLE, 100% UNDETECTABLE. Creep your way through towns, be smart and have patience. If you run around all the time like a chicken with its head cut off it's not the games fault. He doesn't make money from this mod. This mod is free. You paid for arma2. Bohemia Interactive got the money. It's more unique without a starting weapon now. -

Survivors should be more careful and stealthier. Creep around the outskirts of cities like a caterpillar, inspect cities from afar, spot enterable buildings, crawl yourself through the streets, get equipment and get the hell out. You can't expect an everyday joe to survive in a post-apocalyptic survival environment with infected roaming the streets. People are treating this like every other game but this is a mistake. Treat every life you have like it's your last, don't do things you wouldn't do in real life. Be smart, let your instincts guide you and you will succeed. -

Hasn't happened once in the 5 hours that I've played since the new patch. Sometimes there were quite a few communication problems (russians) and still nobody got back stabbed. And to answer your question. You need as much manpower as you can get against these new zeds. They swarm in from all directions now, ammo sharing is mandatory to cover all directions and openings. -
I still update manually. See absolutely no reason to switch to six updater.

Confirming this. Team work seems way more prevalent now. Of course there's still the chance of encountering the usual backstabber but since the new patch, I've only encountered friendlies. With guns, without guns, with good gear, without good gear, doesn't matter, seems like the atmosphere has changed quite a bit. People are realizing that there are just too many benefits in playing as a group since the new patch. Ultra aggro zeds for one thing and spawning without a starting weapon for another. -

And that would add? Oh right, it would bring back all the cod kiddies who think that because you spawn with a gun in your hand its your typical FPS. I literally see no cons regarding the absence of a starting weapon, none, nada. Meanwhile I see a tons of pros. Stop fucking acting like all weapons were suddenly removed. It took me 5-10 minutes to find my first gun after every time i died since the new patch. You are defenseless for maximum 20 minutes and in those early moments, usually nothing happens. And when something does happen, like finding another survivor, you can safely team up now and don't tell me you can't because I grouped up with more survivors since the new patch than ever before. Removing starting weapons was the best thing rocket could've done. It truly feels like a survival-simulator now as opposed to just a little mod for arma2. -
