Thanks jks I hear what your saying and agree. Having played a lot of the original mod I've traversed the map frequently and there is much to be found. I think what I was trying to say originally (but not very well) was that we have these high areas of player concentration but there are only a couple of gameplay options. And yes they are realistic. But if there were a few areas where there could be a more skirmish type scenario that would be great. I think there are heaps more options with the current engine and I think that the current map even though modified from arma Indd itself more to snipers or vechile combat (although this isn't really an option on dayz) and this limits the longevity of the game.

I've wanted these things too from time to time in Dayz but it won't fit the game ethos; Realism.

I think we need more high value areas that are not dominated by over watching and snipers. For example in the airfields it's very easy to setup a perch and pluck off whoever you want. I do believe this is legitimate however it LIMITS gameplay oppertunities and is defiantly open to exploitation. If there were areas, such as large buildings or rambling military facilities in the woods it could promote both survivor and bandit to engage more into the environment and create far more interesting confrontations than just trying to run into NW airfield and getting your head blown off

I think a prison would be great. In fact I think two prisons would be great. I think they would be better suited to the mainland. Obviously they would be a hotspot for bandits ect but anything of high value already is. If anything it would at least disperse them somewhat. For me I think that we need more "go to" areas. One it makes it more interesting and two it will by nature reduce the cluster of bandits at other "go to" areas. If the prison had many entrances (I know it's a prison, so explosion holes ect) it would be very hard to defend and could promote better exploration for everyone as a whole. As opposed to areas like the airfield which are pretty easy to get over watch on.

Im old. 30. Just got back into gaming. Last played in 1996. My computer had a crank handle on the side to warm up the spark plug. On cold days my brother Ron used to throw a fire cracker into the combustion chamber just to get it started. Hell, mum got back into prostitution just so we could upgrade to 32M of ram. I warmly remember One summer when we managed to steal a VGA monitor from cyberDyne systems just so we could kick out bionic commando in 32 bit colour. Every game took about two weeks to load and setup to our particular piece of shit. much of the sport was just in solving these problems alone. After getting rich in the vintage cheese boom of 2010 I bought a shit hot computer and just a month ago downloaded dayz. I've noticed the graphics are a little better than the old days. But in terms of ease of use and playability, I might as well be back in the nineties. I'm sure some fellas, and a lot of pock faced brats find problem solving this mod easy and joyfull. I'm old however and the less time I spend solving the unsolvable the better; as a family man I've often only got a 5min window each day to masturbate. Oh yeah, I know it's "alpha" but Guess what cunts; if you don't bitch in alpha you don't get a better game. Flame me faggots, I promise to take it all to heart.
