Guys, I am new to Arma/DayZ so I am a bit in the dark regarding how the cheat ban system works. Being a server admin, I feel it is my duty and responsibility to be pro-active with hackers and keep dayz fans happy including myself. There's nothing worse than dying to a fucking hacker. With that said, I realize there is the battleye anti-cheat program but it is not a catch-all system as I have found teleporters, crate spawners etc in my log. What is the current best practice system to eliminate hackers from my server and globally? If I find a hacker and ban on my server won't they go to another server and continue to abuse until the admin looks through the logs? I recommend a better system to globally ban players and not have to update a bans.txt file every few days. Also, if battleye cannot catch everything what about a local script to execute on my log file to scan for hackers and automatically add their guid and reason to a text file or my bans.txt file? Posting suspect logs to a forum thread does not scale and is very inefficient. Also how do my bans affect the global ban list? I know this is a lot of questions but I am really fucking lost here on how we are dealing with hackers and what the proper protocol is. Good luck with anyone ever having any sort of respect for you. I've been running gameservers for over 10yrs - so luck has nothing to do with it - it's simply a matter of doing the right thing. So much hate kid, go outside and get some sun. Then go back to school because, although this world needs ditch diggers, you may be able to amount to something better when you growS up. You weren't banned for killing the admin. You werent banned for looting an entire camp. You werent banned for destroying a base including vehicles and tents. You were banned for disconnecting during a firefight when we had you and your clanmates surrounded on the coast and it wasn't until after you guys took multiple shots and were bleeding did you decide to disconnect. Please find another server as cowardly acts such as disconnecting during pvp is 100% not tolerated on my server and is a bannable offense. It's written in the motd and displayed every so many minutes.

Players are constantly hitting the respawn button and it's spamming kill messages. Either disable kill messages when the respawn button is hit or change it to "player is respawning". It's taking away from the immersion.

...I run people over with my vehicle. Last night I went on a killing spree of about 15 players and did not receive a single murder for it. I am extremely disappointed and consider this a bug. FIX THIS MADNESS!!! Lefty

first time we have had a blatant hacker running around nuking. I already located and banned his ass. He left us with a parting gift after the ban (server wide kill).

I installed a new CPU to add additional slots and an SSD drive that is currently not available yet. The server may go down a bit on Monday to install the final hardware but the server will be up shortly.

Hey GrimmDraco, Thanks for making this post. I admit, it does read a bit silly however, the intentions are good, I promise. We of course do not and have never banned for loot farming and by loot farming what we really mean is, server hopping by logging into a prime location. We get this all the time and unfortunately, it's a flaw with the current game system and like all other servers, we will have to look the other way until there is a valid fix. I removed the message from the message rotation.
