I'm running across the road near the balota airfield. I see someone running around that's bleeding. I offer to help them and they start punching me. Needless to say shots were fired.

I'm usually the type of asshole that's a bandit 99.9% of the time. But with the standalone I wanted to try a different approach.

I loaded up and it's night time with a bit of moonlight. I spawn on the docks in cherno. I end up finding somebody in one of the new enter-able buildings. We both say we're friendly. For the past 35 minutes our skype conversation went like this "Dude what the fuck this building is enter-able too!" "Yea dude this one too!" I'm not a big fan of how my shovel isn't already ready to go when i bring it out. It's kind of buggy and we had a fairly bad experience with a zombie.

Improvements -More enter-able buildings. -Better inventory system -A lot more room (No more 6 slot backpacks) -The flashlight isn't retarded anymore -The clothes (Loved the dallas mask, was pretty creepy) -Zombies are a lot smoother and aren't very twitchy if any. -Not nearly as clunky right now -Graphics seem to have improved a lot. -Turning clothes into bandages (Fucking outstanding) -Weapon attachments (Cept melee doesn't work yet) Bayonets etc. My current dislikes about the current state of the alpha. -Melee combat seems fairly glitchy right now (Obviously expected to be improved) -The lack of firearms. I've been playing for about 5 hours and I've found 1 gun but I logged off for a break and my character reset. I feel like civilian weapons should be a bit more common. (Old hunting rifles, .22's, bows/crossbows, shotguns, 9mm pistols, etc) While military high end guns need to be almost non existent. -The fact that it's been night time for the past 6 hours is starting to give me a bit of a headache -The fact that you need to eat/drink every 3 minutes. (Obviously bugged and will be improved obviously) -Getting knocked out for 30-45 minutes. I can understand maybe for a few minutes but that amount of time is just bad for gameplay. I don't think I've ever met a person who wanted to play the "Unconscious game" I'd imagine it's currently a bug. I'd imagine the rarity of guns probably has to do with the fact theres only 3 guns in the game so far. Just what I can think of on the top of my head right now.Feel free to post your likes/dislikes.

Yea I need to take a break cause of the night time. My biggest thing is the lack of loot. I have a pistol and some ammo but no mags for it. I've been looking for a backpack in like 25 buildings and nothing. I feel like you need to spawn in on server restart or forget about it.

i've had a couple issues with crashing but it was due to alt tabbing for the most part. I need to take a break from the game. Playing for 6 hours while trying to learn the new game with it being night time is proving to be a headache.

There's absolutely no point in a 50cal other then taking out a vehicle. A DMR/M24/SVD will do just fine. I'll personally take a DMR over a m107/as50 any day of the week.

I used to try to sneak past zombies. Also when I got my first sniper which was a CZ550 I thought it was a good idea to go ontop the light house and snipe. Figured it was a good idea to prone and.... there goes my leg I used to shoot the dinner bell in cherno/electro

Me and 2 buddies are rolling around up northwest. Looking around the forests for loot and such. Then next thing we know we hear a helicopter and he tells us to stop but we don't. We go into a field and he ends up landing so we end up moving backwards to him in a ural so he cant hit us. We get close and kill him. Next thing we know his buddy shows up in another chopper and kill him as well. 3min later we find a truck in the forest and we go to loot it. The first guy we killed about 3 minutes ago ends up being by this truck and is camping it and ends up killing all 3 of us. It turns out he's butt buddies with the admin and is probably getting teleported and the admins probably telling him where we are. Does it make sense that he just comes back 3min later and kills us? It just makes no sense how he ends up finding us again in the middle of no where especially within a 5min time period, and we're very far north. On this server called Tombstone there's an admin only island. The admin ended up telling this guy to go to his island. My guess is for gear. It's a fact that the admins helping him with gear, which i could care less about. But if the admins gonna give our position away and whatnot and possibly be teleporting him to our location? I don't mind losing all my gear and dying. But when i end up dying to people who cheat and can't play the game the way it's meant to be played, it's a bit BS. The admin keeps saying he's not hacking or cheating but how does that make any sense? The server can only spawn around 2 choppers as well unless the admin spawns more. Go figure we were being circled by those 2. Wouldn't be surprised if the admin was spawning choppers for these guys, cause he hates bandits with a passion it seems.

I've been playing Overwatch for quite a while and I just started playing Epoch and I'll have to say this. Overwatch seems to be a better done version of vanilla and Epoch seems to have the Pve that the game needs. While epoch could have done things better and a bit more smoothly it's still a good start. Currently as Dayz stands zombies aren't a threat, there's no reason to do PvE. As of right now zombies are nothing but an annoyance. I feel like the Standalone should end up using quite a few ideas from Epoch for Pve and Overwatch for it's amazing gun sounds and a lot of the weapons in general. A few ideas that I think should happen with Standalone. (These are mainly just opinions, feel free to make comments and maybe even post your own ideas) 1 - Slow down the speed of zombies by 50% 2 - Add 4-5x more zombies, as of right now I barely feel like it's much of an apocalypse. 3 - Give a reason to go out and kill zombies, maybe they'll end up dropping some sort of money. A zombie is bound to have a wallet on em' yea? 4 - Right now base building is on the list but it needs to be done correctly. I feel like it needs to be kind of a safe haven for players and a place to store loot. A big part of this game is finding loot yea? What's the point of doing all this if it's just gonna be stolen the next day. 5 - In addition to the base idea there needs to be some sort of pve threat. Say a big horde of zombies will eventually come and start to attack your base. 6 - Could even add a city where everyone ends up auctioning off gear or selling rare medical supplies. Just a few ideas that I have... there's a reason DayZ is just a big PvP fest, which is cause there's nothing else to do... I personally prefer PvP, but I think there should be a good balance.

Because it'll get to a certain point where you're over run by zombies. If you were to add 4-5x more zombies in it's current state it's almost be unplayable. The set amount can be changed, obviously. They don't actually drop anything that really makes them worth killing. It sure can be fun. But it's way too easy to raid bases/tents. Not set in stone. He's not 100% sure if it'll even work with the engine. Just have to wait and see what they decide to do.
