Those who are alone like yourself? Murder is what it is. As I have stated before. This is the Zombie Apocalyse. Zombies have killed off most of the world. Not we humans. If it were us, then it would not be the Zombie Apocalypse, it would be called...Genocide.

I know you want to tweak and work on ideas before moving to standalone and what not, but (your idea) is already being copied (well sorta) and marketed by other developers now. US 879 is daytime all the time...server lags alot though and the admin resets out of the blue all the time.

Arma 2 is a military, fps, tactical shooter...that released in 2009. Anything that old is going to be hacked by now. As Rocket states: this mod is a hack ontop of arma 2. Wait for the standalone, or ride it out.

Myshkino and Novy Lug: two of the most over looked areas. Myshkino spawns white, two passenger, off road pick up truck (needs everything-tires,engine parts, fuel parts, and gas) can drive though with just gas and tires, just don't hit anything or you will blow up and die. Novy Lug spawns fully repaired motorcycle (bring gas can because it is almost empty) 6 out of 10 times if you go to those areas you will find those vehicles. Hate to say it, but if you go those areas and they are not there, server hop, you will find one.

Justification of killing another player always takes the form of "survival" Tons of people in third world countries starving and oppressed, yet they do not go around killing innocent people for their "shit." Rocket himself, being ex military knows this to be true. So there is no excuse for killing anyone here in Dayz other than the fact, you can. You know why other people are a threat? Because the community let it get that far. Look back 2 months ago when average life was 4 hours 30 minutes. Now its 40 minutes or less. No one killing anyone for their stuff, admit it. Tents disappear during a server reset sometimes and reappear when it does another reset. The only issue I have now is sometimes I put crap in them and it disappears, comesback, disappears, comesback. Always disappears when I need it.

ROFL. Nobody knows what they would do in this type of situation unless they have been in this type of situation. Shoot on sight, pffft. Most of you would shit on sight. Haha love all the asshat responses. Kids with keyboards are the most dangerous sort. Seriously though, no one is going to miss you, probably because no one knows you or cares. You ARE going to die at some point in time, period. Whether it is some fat kid in his mom's basement, or some high class man in the suburbs, both are going to shoot on sight. It is the safest outcome. If you like killing innocent players, does not mean you are "hardcore" so quit blowing each other off (stroking each others egos). If you are a survivor, same deal. Tons of advice given on how to survive, from bandits and survivors. It is not that hard. Here is how I see it. If you have lived long enough to find an alice pack/czech bag and/or weapon, you are a threat, if you see me, you die. Coyote bag, just keep running and do what you need to do, I dont want to waste my bullets, but more than likely I won't be on the shoreline, Cherno, or Electro so no worries.

Shooting people who just spawned in is not banditry, it is just dickish. Shooting everyone you come across, that is your choice. But that being said so many dickholes come here saying how fun it is to shoot on sight, blah blah blah, there is this cool game with the same map and you can stalk people in that game too, its called Arma 2. No one cares how you play, or no one cares why you do it. You having fun, that is great. Some people get their rocks off by making others miserable. We get it. And yes this is a game, but you are missing the whole purpose of the game. If it was intended to be a death match game, then would not have had to "MOD" it. It is guys like you that make this game enjoyable for myself, as I like the fact I need to sneak around, get my shit, and get out of dodge. If I wanted to play real life, I would have stayed in the military. This is a game play it how you want. It is as simple as that.

Day 18 Need some food and supplies.Berezino store, I come across a "friendly". Lets loot it up. "I am friendly" he says. I grab some beans, ammo, and compass. Go across the street to apartment building (3 story one). I get to top floor and look down in store. I see the "friendly" change into ghillie suit. He enters apartment (I hear his footsteps) he goes over comms, "Rakk, I think a bandit took a pot shot at me, he is in the apartments" (funny I am in apartments and I heard no shots fired for past 20 minutes). I wait at top floor in room overlooking the stairs. "Where you at?" I say (I know where he is). Faint comms "I am still in the store" (what is this guy for real?) click click click, as I hear his footsteps coming up the stairs. I quickly drop an AKM from my bag at top of stairs, with 2 mags. "You sure you still at store?" "Yeah man looking for the bandit who shot at me" "Ok.....I didnt hear a shot" (as I pull out my shotgun) I lean out just exposing my upper head and barrel of weapon. click click click ....ghillie suit hits top of stairs Pop pop pop, the bullets fly by me as I lean back into the doorway. I lean out because I know the akm caught his greedy ass eyes, Boom. bzzzz bzzzz flies. I click hide corpse and think to myself. WTF. Was the ghillie suit supposed to throw me off into thinking he was another person? Did this nub have his volume off and not know anyone can hear him walking up the stairs? And why for the love of god would you want to kill a guy packing an alice bag, shotgun and a makarov. (I leave the good shit in my tent when I go into town)? Honestly would have been better off shooting me in the store after I said I was friendly.

LOL I was laughing too as he put it on, saying to myself, wonder if this guy going to lose his gear when he logs out, guess he lost it to old fashion way.

Well I would say, I might have done the same thing as direct chat does not work most of the time. On a side note, gotta give props the the guys you ambushed, they could have alt + F4 and probably killed you guys, or just cut their losses. Nice to see they didn't disconnect.

If the server has nametags on, then the map will more than likely reveal your location and others around you. Those two features generally go hand in hand, unless the admin has it turned off. I believe it is the default setting for Recruit and Regular servers.

Just tossing this out there... Maybe Bohemia Interactive could host servers that we the community could rent from them, so everytime an update comes they can update it on their end and we do not have to wait for files or the server owners to receive those files to update. As is, new updates come out, have to wait for server admins to ask the server owners to update, or wait for the config files to come out. Then have to hope that all the server actually apply the update. With servers being hosted by BI would be no reason to send out files or ask admins to update, since they could do it on their end. Not to mention would bring some of the $ their way aswell.

I am hoping standalone aswell.

Tents are bound to the server you pitch them on...problem is, servers disappear faster than your gear.
