Hi all, Long time player (mod and Stand Alone), but it's been a while since I've been active on the forums. I'm Kyarno (I go by K. Houghton in game though). I love to RP in DayZ. My current character is a former member of the Cnenorussian government, and is devoted to protecting the government infrastructure. If I see you at a military base with a military rifle, I will put you down, for civilization's sake :D But, fresh spawns I generally give out food and water to, unless they are trespassing on government property.

No, I'm not. While I may not be friendly, I'm honest! I try my best to RP like a member of the old Chenorussian government (complete with a very thick accent). Fresh spawns I may give a can of beans to, but anyone with a weapon is ordered to disarm. Compliance results in likely survival, depending on the location. Failure to comply is a 9x17 round to the back of the head (gotta RP as the cold and calculating government official with a makarov!) Back on topic, I think people are far too trusting in this game. My general rule of thumb is don't trust anyone but the guys in teamspeak with you. Everyone else is a threat. I can't count the number of groups I've seen fall apart to a spy in their midst. And those are the most dangerous bandits -- the one you can't tell is a bandit. If you get KoS'ed and lose you gear, you probably just shrug it off. Die to a supposed friend who you've played with for a few hours, and your faith in humanity is broken.

Server may be great, but the admins are far from it. I was "temp banned" (read, PERM banned) for "spamming". The story behind this is I was sniping from Electro. I took out two bandits sniping from Dobry. They were one tree away from each other. Killed both at 450 meters, or -1 on the DMR (which I was using). Easy kills, both head shots. They bitched and call me hackers. One jumped in the server control panel, and spammed "so and so would like to kick Cypher". Admin came back, and after 30 seconds of looking at chat, banned ME for spamming the chat log (even though I had nothing to do with the requests to kick myself). Long story short, avoid the power-hungry admins on this server. Unless they've changed their tune in two days. ~Kyarno As an aside, might be under my alt name, Roosevelt Johnson. In any case, it's unacceptable behavior from server administrators.

Actually, he was unbanned after I saw that message. I would post my logs to prove so, but the Vilayer interface doesn't seem to keep track of the last bans, as it was updated on August 14th last. **Edit** Forgot I brought up the server to ARMA 96895 today, which may have overwritten the files with the Vilayer-issued bans.

After reading that battleye post I linked earlier, I assumed a script was attempting to be run. After seeing the user being kicked for this, I imposed the local ban. *Edited IP and GUID for privacy. * As a side note, I saw Spirit on the server this afternoon.

As the Admin of 2426 who did in fact ban Spirit, take it from my perspective. First, some background knowledge. We suffered some serious scripting over the past week or so. I began to research new code that I could throw in our scripts.txt file to try to combat this rampant problem. After reading the Battleye announcement posted to our server, I added this to the scripts.txt file, which Battleye recommended. (post linked here: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?138736-Introducing-Server-side-Event-Logging-Blocking) ' 5 "SeaGull" ' After he was killed, he was kicked for a script restriction #1 -- Seagull. Taking this as a sign that our new scripts were working, I locally banned him. Now, maybe I jumped the gun a little too soon (which I did), but think about it. You're looking for revenge upon the people who killed you, and with scripting so easily done, why not? We admins have to fight scripting somehow, and sometimes we make mistakes. We're human, just like you. My adrenaline was pumping, just like yours was. I did my research, and it's a bug with Battleye. Looks like the Seagull is a holdover from ARMA 2 where if you die, you're able to keep watching the battle as a bird. Spirit has been unbanned from US2426, and I tried to look for a "Spiritofthebear" on the DayZ forums to notify him of my error. However, as you can see, he does not use that name on here. TL;DR, made a mistake, corrective action has been taken, and he is welcome back on the server. Just don't expect any freebies! =)

Are you using the debug UI? I've noticed that food and drink don't update while the debug is off.

Just a shoutout to ChazSchmidt, who ran out to the NWAF to try to save me from a poor auto accident. I didn't have enough blood to survive upon logging in (was around 1900), but Chaz was nice enough to guard over my body and make sure I got back to it fine for a little over 2 hours. Plus beans to you, good sir. ~K.
