I purchased Arma 2 from Steam in 2009 upon release, its a great game. At the time i didnt had a strong CPU to run it, so my experience was limited. Arma 2 is the best military simulation game and its considered a sandbox game on its own, you're given Chernarus, a squad, a deadline and a villain, then you need to find him by w/er means necessary without following any linear objectives or orders. You got complete freedom to achive this. Although, SP can be very complex and time consuming, so most Arma players stick to MP missions.

Arma devs arrested for spying in Greece Two Bohemia Interactive developers have been arrested on the Greek island of Lemnos for spying, company CEO Marek Spanel confirmed today. The executive explained on the company's official forum that the firm will not go into further details on the matter. According to Greek reports surfacing recently, the pair were in possession of videos and photos of military compounds in Lemnos at the time of their arrest. The Greek island is the main location for Bohemia Interactive's upcoming shooter Arma III, with the two reportedly claiming they were collecting reference material for the game. Asked if the arrested Arma devs are currently at the Czech embassy in Greece, a Bohemia Interactive representative told GameSpot, "Unfortunately, we have no idea at the moment." Bohemia Interactive CEO Marek Spanel has released a statement about the incident, claiming the two employees were visiting the island of Lemnos "with the sole purpose of experiencing the island's beautiful surroundings". "Since its establishment in 1999, Bohemia Interactive has created games based only upon publicly available information," Spanel said. "We always respect the law and we've never instructed anybody to violate the laws of any country. The same is true for Arma III." Spanel said the studio is training its efforts on supporting the two employees arrested in Greece, and that he hopes the incident is nothing more than "an unfortunate misunderstanding of their passion as artists and creators of virtual worlds". Pvt servers are okish but most can be just as bad as HIVE because of the clans that run them. They exploit, wipe entire databases if they have camps and vehicles stolen, restart server just to get loot, vehicles and avoid death (Session Lost). Its just another way of cheating. For instance, today i logged into RINAUN PVT SERVER only to find out they wiped the entire database, i lost a decent character with ATV and some average gear that took me roughly 2 weeks to build. I mean, RINAUN is a whitelisted server with passworded lobby, 24/7 admins and close to no hackers at all. Its a really strick sub-community of dedicated mature gamers. Im not really complaining, im sure they had their reasons to pull the plug and reboot, still i didnt die to the hacker i died to the ADMIN. There's really no escaping it at this point, hopefully stand-alone will put aside all these negative aspects of DayZ.

You dont understand the term Alt+F4 ? Its old school gaming, back in the day if you'd press Alt+F4 it would close programs currently running in your machine one at the time, if you'd spam it, it would go as far as shuting down your PC. Basicly to exit a program you'd simply had to Alt+F4 and it would close, no questions asked. I think that in recent OS that function was removed, not sure though.

The camp is legit, i've found it. The server was empty so i cant be completly sure if it was a trap. The crew that owns the camp setup a huge perimeter with a bunch of sandbags and maybe bear traps. The bus was gone, however there is still a M16 acog and L85 up for grabs at the time of this post. I lost all my stuff, i wasnt able to run to back to fetch my gear because i was in the middle of nowhere. I tried but it was hard to pinpoint the exact spot. After awhile searching i thought to myself that maybe hacks like this dont even leave a DB to begin with, so i had this notion that my gear was lost regardless and i eventually quit the search.

That happened to me recently in US2419, the TMW server, everyone was insta-killed one at the time. This lasted for 10+ minutes until a ADMIN finally banned the guy responsible out of the server.

People camp and kill unarmed costal spawns because this MOD is broken, and theres nothing else to do except to PvP // PK in Elektro or Cherno.

This MOD will ALWAYS have hackers, i dont think there's a absolute solution to them, not even stand-alone will be able to completly remove the hacker problem.

You might be able to trade it for a bullet to the head in your way to a shady meet-up with some forum bandit.

We all have the same problems, we cant really overplay DayZ at this point, by that i mean building huge camps with alot of vehicles and storage. They'll eventually get raided by "bandits". If your clan is into setting up camps i suggest you play // rent private. I enjoy the MOD no matter the problems, but i can only do that because i keep my gameplay simple, i spend my time in DayZ actually trying to have fun instead of running back and forth across servers to repair vehicles // setup camps. In stand-alone however, i'll surely get into this sort of DayZ activities, for now its just "useless" gameplay and it's not worth the time and dedication. Go PK someone, you'll feel alot better, that's what i do.
