I like the concept of temp and think with proper mechanic tweaks and implementation it could be the start of something very unique and awesome. here are some of my idea's when it comes to temp. 1 Temp = 1 Degree Fahrenheit Instead of starting off at 100 Temp and slowly draining down getting more and more likely to get sick and infected how about you start at 98.6 (Average and Safe Temperature of a human being) and depending on what you do you either gain temp (overheat) or lose temp (freeze). here are some examples of how both would effect the player. Hyperthermia a.k.a. Heatstroke ( Temp Req.: 100.0+ ) Effects: Blurry vision, Vomiting (character may stop and puke making you unable to move or shoot potentially at a bad moment getting you killed or attracting zombies if in range of the sound), increased thirst gain rate, Fainting/passing out if not treated and even Death if neglected even longer ( 106.0+ Temp = Death ) Things that raise temp for the better or worse: being near a fire (only if below normal temp), Running/Sprinting, being in direct sunlight, Staying in shelter i.e. Houses, Tents (only if below normal temp), Remove "Heavy" articles of clothing (i.e. Coats, rain jacket, Vests) With heavy clothing on during hot weather you Gain Temp 2.5x Faster then if you didn't have one on Hypothermia ( Temp Req.: 95.0- Temp ) Effects : greater chance of getting an infection, Screen shaking (mimicking Shivering), slower movement/reaction speed (ADS takes longer and movement 25% slower), higher hunger gain rate, high chance of Passing out (86.0-), and Death ( 82.0- Temp = Death ) Things that lower temp for the better or worse: Swimming, Rain storms, exposed to Night time temperatures, drinking water (only if above normal temp), sitting in shade/shelter (only if above normal temp), Adding "Heavy" articles of clothing (i.e. Coats, rain jacket, Vests) With heavy clothing off during cold weather you gain Temp 1.5x faster and if it is harsh weather it may be even worse maybe around 3.5% faster in night time rain storms. So post what you think of this idea and feel free to add some of your own thoughts to the idea.

Yes places that potentially block wind you'd think would help you get warmer in a cold windy night with or without fire. Yeah, kinda like what I did when I prepared this post I took the time to research the temperatures that are safe and when they start becoming unsafe. -

Remove some stuff that is ruining game play.

Before you continue to complain about something that in reality you would have to worry about check out this post here: http://dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=5148 I have listed more potential ways of getting your temp stabilized other then wood or fire. Face it Rocket isn't going to remove Temperature it is a needed aspect of a SURVIVAL game; mainly because if this was real you'd have to make sure you didn't over heat or freeze, thus making it a needed mechanic that works well with the mods goal. -

My guess is that maybe the Fog getting lessened has caused some people to receive a lower FPS I have the same setup and I get a slight drop not really visible but I can still see it.

It was just implemented so its of course going to need some tweaking. right now it seems I randomly gain and lose temp for no apparent reason. but the future of it seems promising. -

Finally a reason for humanity

I'm a neutral player; I've killed Survivors and Bandits alike with no preference for either, and with the upcoming update where they're removing the bandit skin there will literally be no way of knowing if a person is friendly or not simply by looking at the clothing they're wearing. So why should a NPC "Magically" know whether or not an approaching player is nice or not? I do however like your idea and reminds me of all the fun "random" encounters I've had on the Fallout series. Instead of making it so the NPC's some how know if you're friendly or not; how about leaving it up to the person witnessing them fighting to choose whether or not to help the survivors, leave them to die, or kill them yourself. -
Disappearing Inventory when swimming
TheSlyFawkes replied to BobBlackadder's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
This is a pretty well known bug, Swimming pretty much anywhere deeper then waist high means all your stuff minus your pistol+ammo drops to the bottom of whatever you're swimming in. I've had it happen to myself a couple times but was fortunate enough to have the stuff close to the shoreline so that I could go prone in the water and pick my stuff up off the ocean floor; mind you it was close enough to land that I wasn't deep enough to drop my stuff back in. -
I think that idea is going to make the problem worse, adding more servers would only create more traffic for the HIVE and slow it down even more. I do agree however that there is a problem with people Connecting, Waiting a couple minutes, not getting in as fast as they feel they should be, disconnecting, then reconnecting again. and that right there is the main problem with why the servers are getting bogged down. I will also state that the amount of EU, RU, FR, and BR players who join US servers with 150-250 ping don't help much either. all because they don't want to play when its dark so they go to the US servers where it's day, the only way I see this problem getting fixed is lowering the max ping to 150 (which will stop most foreign players from connecting to distant servers) and also adding some 24/7 day servers the the RU, FR, EU, and BR servers like the US12 server.
