This game is not about surviving zombies. More people worrying about murdering everyone in site including fresh spawns. Boring.

I agree with HMS especially when it comes to the asshats who just sit their popping fresh spawns in the head. I am actually ok with you sitting on a roof top all cozy popping off who you want. Whatever, you're an asshole, fine. But if you pop a shot off from above, your damn right a horde is climbing up after you now. And you better move out now or the horde is going to rip you apart. People who care about the game's success should care about turning people off. And this DOES turn people off. The game in it's current state allows for an atmosphere that is MUCH too comfortable for the 14 year old mental midget COD players who get off on killing everyone on site. Yes I realize we as survivors can adapt to this by teaming up with a clan or friends and deal. But that should not be the only option.

Well, I have noticed leaves changing colors on trees..so maybe snow is on the way? hehe

As of right now I use the 1911. I have used the Glock in the past. I use my hatchet more than pistols though. For a while I wasn't even carrying a pistol.

I for one will not shoot on site. I also haven't been in situations where I have faced too many other players. 2 times I saw some crawling around the side of a barn I was in. I just booked it out of there. The only time I was killed was in the middle of The Black Forest. I believe it was a hacker who teleported in as out of nowhere everyone on the server started dying and I did not exit quick enough. If not a hacker, it was a coward who shot me in the back. I only use Steam as a lines of communicating over mic using DayZ Commander with Steam overlay. You can add me on there(see my sig) or PM me if you ever want to team up. IF you play on high pop servers and enter high PvP areas be on your guard, move around in a smarter manner and be ready to kill unfortunately.

Vehicles go missing when someone takes them, puts them somewhere and then saves the vehicle to that spot. Vehicles will respawn when they are destroyed. Not sure on how long after they are destroyed.

AKM for sure. I do not look for PvP action at all. I do not want to kill anyone unless I am forced to. AKM ammo is much more plentiful. It is probably my favorite rifle right now. FNL is cool but good luck finding ammo to last long. And it's loud as hell. What is your play style? You'll find your answer there.

Hahaha. I find it pretty damn sad that people would shoot you after all of that. What a bunch of sad human beings.

Well, it was a good run! Almost 30 days. Had great stuff. Was on US 2106 in the black forest and was magically killed. No complaints. Free mod = hackers galore. Time to start fresh! But F you to whoever killed me.

Exactly. What a lucky run I've had. Going to rejoin and see if I spawn close enough to attempt to find my body. Cheers!

For the 1,000th time. If you turn the debug monitor on, the blood, hunger menu does not work. Switch back n forth. Or whatever. There has been many threads on this already.

Bandages can be found at pretty much any loot spot.

I bought Arma2 just for DayZ. I died one time and have been alive since. Going on 20 days now. I do not join highly populated servers for obvious reasons: hackers and idiots that just sit around waiting to kill other players because they are lame. I would say it has been worth the purchase. I am having much fun roaming around alone or with a couple friends.

I haven't played as much as many/most. But so far any time I have encountered anyone, luckily I just went off in the other direction because they didn't see me. I don't wish to invite conflict. Any time I thought I have heard someone outside a building or coming into a building I am in I say friendly, not hostile etc. In hopes they will keep it peaceful. I am down to barter or give things away. I'd rather help another survivor than kill them. The only time I came close to gunning someone down was when my friend was killed. I didn't get there in time to get who had shot him. I am sure my time will come soon and I will be gunned down. For I probably will not engage or shoot on site. Just not my style.

I have now joined another 95885 server. The updated exe file says 95883 but I believe the 3 is a typo.

Hey all I am the friend of HMS ^^ who was having weird issues. Here is what I did just now. If you need more details I can type out a better version: Here is what I did: Verified both ARMA2 and OA files within steam, it found broken/missing files for both. Go to library right click properties local files, verify local files for both. Then I defragged cache files for both. (right click properties local files, defrag cache) Started both games up one at a time and let them install missing files or whatever. Next I downloaded the latest battleye client dll file, copied it and replaced the one located in the battleye folder under the OA expansion directory. Next I ran the 95883 updater. I placed this EXE file in the OA/Expansion/Beta directory. Ran it. NOW! This creates a new folder called expansion(as far as I could tell) in the BETA directory. In this new folder is a dta folder with some files in it. I copied these files and moved back into the OA/Expansion directory. In there is the normal DTA folder. Open that folder and paste the files you just copied overwrite. (make a back up of the DTA if you wish just in case) Next I extracted the 1.7.2.5 files into the @DayZ addons folder. Next I did NOT use Six Launcher to verify anything. I went directly to DayZ Commander and ran as admin. Joined a server showing the latest update. Game loaded just fine. I could not do this last night. So I joined a server with the latest update. You will also notice that your debug menu in the top right now has a humanity meter. Another way to show you have updated properly. I have not tried to join another game yet. But I will verify once I have joined another game. Sorry I typed these up really quickly and messy. If you are confused I can try and do a better job of showing what I did.
