How do you control your DayZ Rage?
str33tsuite replied to Derpy_Hooves (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I listen to this: -
I played Rmod, sure its fun for a few hours but it gets really boring, it seem Rmod is trying to turn DayZ into BF3 which is fine for some people but in my opinion it removed the true spirit of DayZ

Sorry to hear than mate, I play a good gaming community, not a clan but rather a group of like minded players, we help each other quite often, myself on more than one occasion have picked up players from the edges of the map and flew them where they wanted to go, we share gear and vehicles on a regular basis so your experience is based on one particular bad clan.

You can't be totally one thing mate, you have to draw from both worlds as Pendragon said, there are situations where you will inevitably find yourself into a gunfight. Or you see someone trying to take that chopper you've been gathering parts for and you can't just let him take it, you have to take the shot, this pool needs more options

Are Choppers needed in DayZ?
str33tsuite replied to Jex =TE= (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
It's an end game item... it was supposed to be superior to everything else, there only one per server (excluding private hives and new maps) shooting people from the heli is not as easy as you think. End of -

DayZ Redux - DayZ purist focused custom DayZ Mod (Formerly DayZ DIAF)

I've asked one of my clan server admin to sen you my GUID, your mod looks interesting. Just one small suggestion...you might consider hosting the mod files on mediafire or a similar hosting provider, downloading with 8 kb/s is a pain . -
Funny thing is that the ATVs are also death traps in BF3 as well, i sense a conspiracy here

Same here, only it was Novy Tipsy

These two keep bringing the same old sentence "the kid just wanted to have fun" , really ? how was it fun for the other people on the server, do you think it was fun fro them ?, if you let your son thinking that having fun at the expense of others is ok he will end up getting 25 to life. Parents are meant to be harsh, they weren't supposed to be your friend and what teenager kid doesn't "hate" this parents at that age ? You were talking about the harvard kids that cheated on there tests, well when they do get a job for there specialization the employer expects you to perform the job and not just give you a high five for "overcoming" the test, get real and see a specialist for your issues, you seem to have a lot of them

Mysterious Zombie Killing us!?!?
str33tsuite replied to Matthew123's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
TLDR ? -
We have regular firefights with other clans on our home server LU425 , server is admined by clan members , no Alt+F4 or ghosting but expect heavy resistance
-
80% of the map is urban with some buildings that you can enter, the only place worth checking out is the airfield, it has like 10 barracks and lots of hangars + some firestations and control towers, another thing... the fence surrounding it has no holes in it and you only have two access points, easy to lock down. So far I liked it but personal taste

Rezzed Clan Recruiting
str33tsuite replied to [email protected]'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I played on your server earlier today Fallujah and I got banned for shooting at the admin's chopper while he was flying it, that's how rezzed handled firefights, just a heads up. -

Current Dayz mod and the future Dayz Standalone game.
str33tsuite replied to NicholaiGinovaef's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Didn't you read my previous post ? the Arma II engine (which DayZ is built upon) it's very trusting and allows scripting that's how "hackers" are able to script in vehicles, ammo boxes and stuff. Rocket said in the most recent live stream that to stop the hacking in the DayZ mod will mean to totally change the Arma II engine which will directly affect the game (Arma II) The standalone version of DayZ will be built on the Arma 3 engine severely stripped down and that is how he will fix the hacking, you also need to understand that no game is hack free and there will still be a few cases here and there but not as rampart as now. The same reason zombies act like this in DayZ, it's because the Arma II engine simply was not built to do this, same answer here... Arma 3 engine severely modified to fit the game that Rocket is going for. -
Current Dayz mod and the future Dayz Standalone game.
str33tsuite replied to NicholaiGinovaef's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
The mod was never released you dumbass, this is an alpha, an "experiment" you ain't playing this mod, you are testing it for the developers. Hacking is only possible because the Arma II engine is made in such a way to allow players to use scripts, trying to fix ***ing will mean trying to completely reconfigure the Arma II engine (which will be done in the standalone which will use a highly stripped down version of Arma 3 engine) If people are sick of bugs than maybe they shouldn't be testing a alpha version of a mod ? and go play BF3 or something. Of course people will flock to something new, if everyone stopped playing new game and just stick to what they had we would all be playing text based games on a 18 bit PC that costed $500, it's called progress. I am actually glad DayZ is so popular and you know why ? because it opened a door for game developers to a whole new type of game, the type of game I particularly enjoy, which means competition will get bigger and bigger and developers will have to come up with new ideas on how to improve there game and indirectly affect our gameplay, I admit that some changes will be good and some not but you can't always get what you want. And one last thing, if you have half a brain you will understand this and stop wasting forum space with hate posts and stories about how WarZ it's gonna steal there market share, really ? a game with 5 minutes of footage and a few screenshots ? and from what I've heard it's going to be Pay2Win which will eventually destroy the game in a very short period of time Just my two cents -
Trading 1 Mountain Dew for any repaired vehicle
str33tsuite replied to killcamike's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Drink it or throw it away, just get rid of it.... let me share my two stories when finding mountain dew, after a gun fight in elektro , me with a makarov and my enemy with a lee enfield, i somehow magically win the gun fight and start looting and what do i see, two cans of mountain dew , i snatch them fast in excitement as this was my very first mountain dew, after that I proceed to the island to fix the chopper, i get sniped in the water from the tower on the island... i mean what were the chances of that happening ? Second time, i find one can of mountain dew in a small shack, i pick it up and start my wondering, 5 minutes later while i was rushing inside a fire station followed by several zombies, i enter the fire station and start taking shots at them, kill a few and than proceed to start looting, once I was done i start going down the stairs and for some reason i fell like 2 meters, broken leg, unconscious , bleeding and eventually death, My advice... just get rid of it asap or you will find yourself dead in the most ridiculous ways. -
Vehicle Spawn points on DayZDB accurate?
str33tsuite replied to MattTheMont's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I just recently found: http://dayzhq.com/map/ the map seems to be more up to date than the dayzdb.com map, I've compared it and the dayzdb map is missing several spawn points for vehicles where I personally found vehicles but were not listed on the dayzdb map. -
I'm sure like many players are getting tired of the long walks in DayZ so I came up with this: A Zippo ligher on top of a nail clipper pressing down my W key, post yours if you have any.

Did you repair everything on the chopper ? it will continue to leak fuel if you dont repair it 100% including the glass, you will need 4 x scrap metal and 8 x windscreen glass, I've never had problems with choppers leaking fuel once it was fully repaired. Even if when you are inside it all the parts are Green, you should just equipp one scrap metal and one windscreen glass to see, if there are any red parts, thats your problem. Second question, once the pilot disconnects the chopper will go down, i know from experience

Finally Lost My Spirit in the Game
str33tsuite replied to IncrediBurch's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
True that, same thing here... and I believe you forgot server restarts, can't even remember how many times I was stranded at the top of the map after server restarts. This is the same old problem, alpha.. people expect a fully polished bug free game when they are really testing the game, not "playing it"
