Was playing today and around Chernobyl there was a huge plume of smoke and what looked like a fire. Anyone else seen this? Is it a glitch?

I managed to find an m1014 with ammo and got teleported about 500m in the air with the rest of the server and we all died when we hit the ground :( -

Well one had the bandit headgear showing and did look in my pack to see anything lootable, they were pissed off because I was near their chopper, if they didn't make me lie down and put my gear up for grabs then I wouldn't call them bandits... But they were... -

Hmmm what if I went to the nw airfield (my current objective) used the kit to counter snipe and scope out the area, and drop the kit when I pick up the weapons there? -
One tip, find buddies on here to play with, chernaraus is a dangerous place, even more so if you're alone.

Go to steam, right click Arma 2 operation arrowhead, select properties, select local game files then I think it's like restore game files? Something like that

Hi, i downloaded DayZ today and i've had so much trouble trying to connect to servers and loading etc, i have the beta patch installed, i have the latest version of the mod installed (i think). When i try to connect to most server i get that message 'Bad version' no matter what i update, e.g 6updater/launcher, also sometimes i get stuck on the loading screen. Has anyone else been through all of this and knows how to completely update everything and connect to most servers? i was looking forward to this game but as it's a mod, it all seems a bit of a faff to be honest :/

I started up both Arma 2 and OA once before I installed the mod, I have 6updater, my startup parameter uses the beta launcher for OA and it's the steam version of the game

Which I had too, I want to get playing but 1: none of my steam friends know or care about DayZ 2: Im not sure I installed and updated right, I don't think I'm even on version 1.7.2.4
