Add ArmA 3 Stances to DayZ Has already been discussed a little in this thread. But even the OP said there should be a new thread opened for the idea because it acctualy wasnt realy related to his suggestion. So it would simply add more stances to the game. ZXC would be still the keys for quick change between prone, crouch and stand. But with a combination of keys you could go a little lower while crouching for example untill you are completly prone again. Would make it easier to shoot from behind cover. Im not hooked on the idea. I just wanted to create a topic where ppl can discuss it. I think it would a good thing but not too necessary. I dont own any right on this idea. All rights go to AsOiX.

General ideas about how the game should be

Ye I would love guns to be more rare. It would scare away some of the "CoD kids" (as people like to call them) and create some more survival atmosphere. I just bought 7 Days To Die and I'm surprised how hard it was just to find a pistol.. and I only got a few shots. The use of melee and improvised weapons creates lot of atmosphere. I guess when crafting get bigger weapons will become more rare. We could create things like slingshots, selfmade grenades, maybe a selfmade crossbow. They should all be a good alternative for guns because of more easy accessible ammo and still decent damage/ other effects. -
I'll search the forum a little for building threads and add links for them. But I also want people to post stuff in the comments which could make towns and villages unique. Not only big stuff, no. What I realy want are buldings or points of interest that fit in the towns of Chernarus. Some info about the idea: So I think every village should have at least 1 unique thing in them you cant find anywhere else. Even more would be better. Why? Because of 2 reasons: - Right now the most villages look the same. You know all buildings after 1 hour of playing and you can find the same buildings multiple times in almost every village. The fact that all the buldings acctualy look realy unique and detailed makes it even worse that you see them everywhere. One bulding you cant find anywhere else would make it more interesting again to go into villages. - It could help new players so they know where they are. Signs are all Cyrillic which makes it hard to recognize a village or town by its name. But when someone is talking about the village with the old water mill or the small town with the bus depot and the small open air stage (or whatever) you would know what they are talking about if you visited that place in the past. Here is my stuff what Id like to see: - Every town hall should be unique - Old water mill - Bus depot - Car dump - Area for sports - Enterable factories with unique interior - Woodcutter - More variations of: supermarkets, train stations Links for unique buldings: Olympicz + another Olympicz Power Plant Jail, Hospital, Farm ^These are all quite unique but also very big and dont allways fit into Chernarus. Id like to see more small stuff in the comments. Keep in mind its Chernarus. Pictures would be cool.

Well yea that the point.. its there to protect your stuff, not to give you extra inventory space.

The action menu (scroll wheel) will be removed anyway. Dean stated that in some interview/ twitter post/ dunno anymore. They want to replace it with something more simple such as eat a apple by holding it in your hands and left click. Not sure how reloading will work then but I guess they will find a solution for that too. -

Yea thats the point. The more guns you add, the more different kind of mags you will find. And with a bunch of more pistols there will be so much pistol mags you will only find the once you dont need and pistols will get useless as hell. I also had that one moment when I killed somebody with just the chamberd bullet (-> zeeabo). But I want pistols to be a usefull weapon and a good alternative to Mosin and AK. By spawning most pistols with a mag they would get some balance and not be hell worse than M4 and SKS.

Pretty sure that not the reason why they changed the airfield. They changed it because it gives some balance to the coast. -
Has been suggested before I think. But whatever. Its something that makes me a little angry that the devs dont manage to do this because it would make pistols actually usefull.. I mean come on they just need to make the pistols spawn with a mag just like other guns spawn with their stuff. It makes sense. It makes pistols useful. Just add it to the game.. pls.. pretty please. Beans for this suggestion.

Thats why we freakin need to see who killed us. I dont care if it kills any of immersion but in a game that obviously has bugs and hackers 'cause its in alpha we need to find out who is using this bugs so the can be punished. I dont think there should be any difference if "just" glitching or hacking- if you do any of this you should no longer be able to play DayZ. These people will try to abuse glitches and bugs in the future too so its would be the best if they simply never come back after doing it once. Edit: You seem to be a pretty good DayZ player by the way. :P kind of offtopic but do you play bandit style or friendly (and with bandit or friendly I mean KoS or not KoS) -

The multi-step crafting would be the smalles problem you could encounter. The improvised backpack is also somewhat a multi-crafting item.. dont see any problems there..?

Well underground objects are possible in VBS2 (or in this video, dont know if its in the "game").. I dont know how much different the engine is (there is no info on wikipedia) but I can imagine underground stuff like basements to be possible in the future. I mean.. they want to improve the engine, no? Maybe thats part of it.

Hay folks Dont like floating guns or melees on the back of players? Yes, no? I dont.. Solutions: - You need a back holster to carry rifles/ melees. (or put them in a piece of clothing/ backpack ofc) - Ofc you can still carry a weapon in your hands. (when items finaly stop disappearing when u drop them on the ground there would be no real downside to put them in hands) - You can find back holsters so you can carry rifles on your back and melee weapons like pickaxe, baseball, hatchet. - You can stack 2 back holsters so you can carry 2 big things on your back. - Back holsters are replaced by vests so vests should also have back slots sometimes. You can combine back and chest holster. - Backpacks also work as holsters. Child briefcase has no back slot and cant add any, taloon has no back slot and can add one with crafting, mountain and hunter both have 1 and can add 1 with crafting. - Improvised backpacks can be upgraded with back holsters. (burlap 1, leather 2) - You can combine backpack and back holster (like vests+backpack) but you can carry max 2 weapons on your back. - Maybe you spawn with 1 simple back holster. - Maybe you can even differ between melee and gun/ rifle holster and make weapons holsters more rare then melee ones. Whats the reason to add that stuff? - People can have 2 rifles on their back (quite some people wanted that) but they have to find a holster for it first. - Adds some crafting. - Makes backpacks look much more apocalyptic/ survivor like when they have crafted stuff on them. - No more floating pickaxe on back of players. - New items to hunt for. Yup.

There was a thread about this some time ago. What you suggest is about the same thing with the crashsites. -You usualy find nothing out there, but if you are lucky you find a crash site. -You usualy find food and clothings in houses, but if you are lucky you find an actual military weapon My suggestion to this would be to place random corpses of dead military guys in houses/ villages. I think that would be somewhat realistic because the "citizens of Chernaus [..] owned AK's" would most likley used them to defend themselves and not leave them at their dining table ;) But thats kind of offtopic as I dont think thats what the OP actually wants. I guess OP basicly wants a place where he knows that kind of weapon can spawn that he wants. Right? If yes, I dont like this. I like that if you want the M4 (which is right now the most rare and powerfull weapon) you actually have to travel around and search for it everywhere. If you are ok with an AK- go to the airfield. But if you want a M4- search the map! People who dont just travel from hotspot to hotspot should also get rewarded.
