As soon as we can set up camps with tents, campfire etc. it would be cool if we could place an "advanced" rain collector. Wooden barrel - which can be upgraded with a thrash bag to minimize loss of water Metal/ Wooden bucket Maybe a hole in the ground made with a shovel + thrash bag?

A simple slingshot?? Well you need a little bit of skill and training but as we can use weapons like we had training with them why cant we use slingshots like we trained with them in the past? I used to have a slingshot when I was young and I could hit stuff with it. Its realy not as hard as people say in this thread (at least not much harder than using a weapon as I said..)

You can see some of the new buildings in the new towns far north. There is for example the new police station and a small hospital. I also hope there will be more to come! :)

Because I have no idea about Arma2 stuff? I just pointed out that its nothing the world hasnt seen yet and its totaly possible.
-
Its realy not that hard... All kind of games use this. For example Warcraft 3 for teamcolour or you can see it in Minecraft with the grass and leaves. Even my brother can code it and he is a hobbyist.

Wow seriously this again? Just use the freakin wiki or search on YouTube and you will get your answers. Stop posting the same stuff all the time just because you cant do something named "research".

Deans wants to bring Base Building Mechanics from Dead Linger - video
doublebrain replied to TEST_SUBJECT_83's topic in General Discussion
Wow you are talking a whole lot of bullshit. Whats your point now why cant we have base building in DayZ? -
It is not in every town because the map is not even slightly finished yet. And yes there are already police stations in the new towns. Also the loot will be about the stuff you suggested.

Hitler would be proud of you.

Let's be honest we are all killers.. Try your hardest not to lie. Thanks

I dont think I overdo when saying I got at least 1000 hours on DayZ Mod+ Standalone and I have never ever been a killer. I never killed anyone because I wanted his stuff or for whatever reason. So nope I am not a killer. -
I hadnt played DayZ for a few weeks and risked another run after the latest update came up. I was looking at the server list and saw a "Hardcore" server, I never played on one before. First of all I have to say that playing on hardcore is much more fun in my opinion because you feel much more restricted with first person only. Also loot seems to be more rare than on regular servers so it takes some time to get the good stuff. But the thing that realy surprised me was that the people on the hardcore servers are quite friendly! I played about 5 hours in the last 2 days and I had 6 (and a half) encounters with other players. The first guy most likley spawned a few minutes ago just like me. I walked out of the town, he was going to run into it. He asked me if there was any loot left (which I denied). After going a little inland I decided to go back to the east coast and loot the towns there (Solnichniy, Berezino, Svetlojarsk). In Sol I first met some newspawn who asked me if I knew if there was a well around. Then I ran into a guy who was at about the same "gear-level" as me. He asked me for food and I gave him some cans for a can opener and an empty bottle. While we made our deal 2 good geared (= guns) players showed up. They were careful first but not hostile and asked if everything was alright. They wanted my UK Vest and offered me a medkit and a map for it. I never need too much inventory space so I accepted. In Berezino Ive met a very friendly guy, he helped me after I ran into a bunch of zombies with "only" an axe. We looted Berezino together and seperated after that. There was a guy at the shipwreck, he told me there was still stuff all over the ship and it would be worth to take a look. And only about an hour ago a guy ran into me in Svetlojarsk. I saw his head for like 0,5 seconds and all he said was a quick "hi" and then he ran trough the backdoor. When I looked for him he was gone. So yea... at least 5 hours of playing and noone even tried to shoot me down. 4 of 6 1/2 players had guns but didnt shot me 2 wanted to trade 1 saved me And then I see people complaining about KoS all the time... here might be the solution: play on hardcore servers! Maybe there are people who can approve this? Anyone who also feels like the hardcore players are realy the softies in DayZ? :P

Everytime I eat a can of beans at home I feel like sitting in my safehouse with zombies crawling around outside.
-
Na I never use helmets. I usualy go for the black Zmijovka Cap because it looks very friendly, no matter if you wear green/ camo stuff or just civilian clothings.
-
I played on a hardcore server for 2 days now, never played just after the server restarted. Still there was enough food to stay alive. Maybe you just need some training? Learn to search in the right places and you will get what you want.
-
It will work like that in the future. As kingrex said they just need to add some more packs to make it work.
-
Django Unchained, anyone? :D
-
There will be corpses lying around in the future buts thats all. No ghosts... the fuc guys this is not Paranormal Activity or something. There was an accident or something, people got infected with some kind of virus or parasite or whatnot but thats about it. No gates of hell were opened, no aliens, no Smurfs. More apocalyptic world? -Yes Ghosts and moving chairs? - Nonono

Why should it be hard to do in any way? player drinks coffee -> give 700 energy -> 5 minute timer -> timer at 0 drain energy by 1000 at 60 seconds It wouldnt be something hard to code at all... maybe a 20 minute job to make it run well.
-
I think they should be less powerful too. Yes, there are ways to knock down someone on one hit, but first of all not many can do this and second the melee system is not realy advanced and in real life you would try to defend yourself and block the hit.
-
Here is your solution I think Dean said that in one of his streams There will be servers with forced graphical settings. There will be servers where you need clouds, specific grass settings, shadow and so on. So there will be "low quality" and "high quality" servers. At least for the graphic aspect. ;)
-
Well I dont know what they want to add in the future but right now hunger and thirst is not realy enough for me. Because how you cure hunger? You just eat something, takes a min... drinking the same. I want to see all kind of stuff that I should take care of at my camp/ whatever. cook food clean weapon take care of gear hygiene?

Survival knife with compass sounds awsome!

Lack Of Points Of Interest (Central Map Part)
doublebrain replied to donotlog's topic in Suggestions
The map is not finished at all, cities will be reworked and all kind of new stuff added all around the map. They just started in the West. Big buildings are also planned. -
Yea and the suggestion was to add a animation for it. So what the fuc? But... if you surrender and put down your weapon you are in the situation where you could be knocked out anyway? I mean the point of surrendering is that you cant attack them. And the animation should be 2 parts: 1. you start putting down your weapon (can be cancelled, short animation for standing up again. Keep weapon in your hands) 2. your weapon is already dropped (stand up again, weapon on ground)
