Zombies: Using dynamic Entities and Spawn points to address client/server load w/ Zombies & Loot
doublebrain replied to ninjacalypse's topic in Suggestions
Why do you even debate about this? Dean said that they work on the system and it will be possible to have both the loot and the zombies on the map. Just trust him and dont suggest stuff we've already seen in the mod, because Im pretty sure the team knows about the features of their own mod. -
You should be forced to search the forums with at least 3 different keywords before you are allowed to post something in the suggestion forum. And for the 100 time: No, no and NO

I dont think this delay will stay till the full release of the game.......

Servers where you have a separate characters are named hive servers. They will be added at some point, maybe even the next month.

"Stop being over-realistic" he said started the game and randomly killed players because there is nothing else to do and you dont realy have to care about your body. Also, who needs player interaction? Find people to help you? Pff, silly. [sarcasm stops here] I might want to see how the game turns out in half a year and if there is enough PvE (i gonna take sickness as environment for the sec) but I defenetly want to see your body or stomach getting bad when you just drink soda or eat tuna only. -
Cant wait to see the first "niggerblaster 2000" and then see the feature getting removed again.

I used to be a survivor but then I took an arrow to the knee...

I want it and it will come most likley soon. Dean already had the "new" crossbow in one of the early presentations (I think it was almost a year ago). But beside that crossbow (which couldnt be craftable most likley) I would also love to see a craftable bow.

Get teleported out of the town when logging in again? I dont like teleporting but it would be a way to stop people from logging in in secured buildings. They should be teleported to the next position with no big points of interest near them. If the stuff to prevent combat logging is in the game it could hardly be abused.

I think every toilet costern will be without water before any well dries up.

Access players backpack- Yes, just add a zip sound to it. Trading menu?- Na, this is not one of this MMORPGs. Just drop it on the ground and pick it up.

Bandits, Heroes, Survivors, Zombies and.. Civilians
doublebrain replied to SixGunLover's topic in Suggestions
Which way?.. I dont realy see the way how to play a civilian. You have limited gear options, poor aim and you cant be killed or kill others. It just removes important parts of the game. Also it has no realism at all. The point of DayZ is that you never know if that guy will shoot you or not. If there are civilians you know this guy wont shoot you, you cant kill him. You will most likely just ignore most of them. Plus I see ways to abuse the civilian "faction", because you can troll players or give away their positons easily as you will just receive the message "You would be dead now" -
All this ideas to prevent KoS are so... eh... kind of crude. Ive seen thousand suggestions like this one. If you want to see some change with the KoS think of changes in the game, not on the servers.

-So first of all, the towns... I already wrote something about that in this thread [http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/162529-communitiesplayer-controlled-towns/], also please try to use the search function because your ideas for a player controlled town are about the same as in the mentioned thread. Still some words on that topic: Control who enters or leaves? You can do that by watching the town from some distance and thats the only way you can do it. No god-power will tell you if there is anyone in your town. Also no god-power can save people in a town from getting killed. There are no supernatural powers in DayZ, just the things players can achieve. Barricades will be added in the future. -"Natures dangers" are confirmed, maybe not snakes but other stuff. -I would also like to see some more stuff that make the towns and villages look more run down. But I dont see any point why there should be fires. Fires dont burn for years as far as I know... -Zombies are infected humans, no horrible horror monster things. Maybe smaller injuries, but I dont want to see half rotten heads, missing arms and that kind of stuff.
-
I dont think people will play as a zombie, maybe like 2 times when its new in the game but then they will know that all they can do is running around. No looting, no player interaction, no needs. It would just be a waste of time to code something like that.

I dont see any point why you shouldnt be able to drinki at wells..? Camping spots? Like people waiting at wells for poor guys and shooting them down or what?
-
I dont want one-shot snipers in the game and a M107 cant be anything besides a one-shot weapon. I even hope no real snipers will make it into the game, maybe the SVD or rarely a M24. The less sniper rifles the better.
-
Private hives have no influence on base building at all. A few near schools, churshes, bus stops...? If you are lucky you might find one at a not too often visited spot when bicycles are put into the game.

The devs already said "No" to karma didnt they?

Bandits, Heroes, Survivors, Zombies and.. Civilians
doublebrain replied to SixGunLover's topic in Suggestions
Na man... just no. There are no factions in this game, there are survivours with different ideals and a different sense of morale. One of the big points of DayZ is that we are all the same. We all need to drink, eat, we need clothes and defense. When we start playing we have nothing and we are free to take anything we want. Also players are civilians, in this game you are supposed to be the average Joe. You are not a trained military, not a survival specialist, not a hero sent by god. By the way, there will be allways a group of people who know what it means to play DayZ the way its ment to be played. And as long as these people are there I dont mind if others fill their maps with 100 new barracks, 500 repaired vehicles and give new spawns an M24 and a two M249s in each hand. Or they ban everyone who kills another player. Or they make cows parachuting everytime someone finds a can of beans. -
I think they wanted to make a system for the loot and the zombies. The more time a place was without any visitors the more loot and zombies will spawn. Towns that are hold by players wouldnt spawn items and zombies. This would make them easier to defend (because no zombies inside) and would also force players to leave the city and loot other towns and go hunting/whatever.

People spawning in barracks are usualy serverhoppers. If not they are just stupid by logging out in barracks and also deserve to die.
