I am colour blind and am finding it difficult at times to tell when I have low blood withouth the debug monitor. I also had problems at first understanding when i have low food or drink, but i am good enough at the game now where that isnt a problem as i am usually well stocked for food/drink pretty quick and just wait for the blinking. I remember rocket making a post a while back that he understood the issue of colour blind players face and was working on it. I find it pretty easy to know when i'm low on blood as the colour and vision fade, I just wonder if the non colour blind have and easier time of it with the colour change of the drop. Sometimes i do wonder, is my blood lower? or is it getting dark, or is it my shitty x chromosome? I did rely on the numbered blood for the check points of "okay i'm below xxxx blood, this means this... if i eat a tin of beans i can avoid that for a bit because it gets me above that threshold". The lack of numbers removes that, but i think thats what the devs want anyway. Which is fine, it its intuitive. The colour blind mode in BF:BC2 was alright. I still got confused at times. SC2 minimap does my head in in team games.

@Rocket; Does it really have to be zombies?
TimBob replied to daedrick's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I remeber hearing rocket say that the term for them is infected (oh god, i just said "rocket said"). You are right in that they would starve to death, but it is a game and it needs mechanics. Sounds good. Reminds me of dinoriders. I would an enjoy a world that is set up in novel The Road. That would be a bleak game. But seeing as there is resistance to cannibalism in DayZ, I don't think that would be likely. "yes these are the new spawns i have collected and am currently harvesting the limbs off." PS Get Vampire Masquerade, solid game, even though it's dated a bit. Why the shit hasn't someone made another one? -
I searched and couldn't see this suggestion. Suggestion: Increase chance of getting infected from getting hit by zombies. With this, only a slight increase in spawn of antibiotics. Perhaps appear at the airfields, Stary Sobor medical tents, firehouses and/or perhaps a very low chance in higher yield residential buildings (people have medical cabinets). Story: For the first time in playing this game I got sick, infected. It was great. It gave me and my friend something to do. We were at the mid tier loot stages were where thinking, “I guess we go to the airfields.” We got a bit reckless in a small town (sorry for got which one) and I got hit by a zombie and found I was infected. Luckily were both stocked on blood bags so it wasn’t a HUGE issue but we had to run quite a distance back to Cherno to loot the hospitals, where we found, no antibiotic, but more blood bags so I could keep from fainting. It was a bit of a chain transfuses but it was fun. We logged out as it was 2am. On next log in we got hacked so we never cured me. But it was some of the most fun I have had playing this game; hoping to see that little box spawn in the hospitals and gave us more to do than “I guess we just loot the air fields now” Misc: This may also make zombies more difficult as this is something I see people talk about on these forums. - - - Please tell me why you think this is a bad/ good idea or any tweaks you may have. I would like to hear people’s thoughts.

Please lock thread if something like this already exists. I could not find one in my searches. Or if I posted in the wrong place please move. Short version: I personally find night easier to play than the day time and was just pondering why people log off at night. Long version: Hello I have lurked this forums for a while and I often see threads talking about how night time is difficult. Personally I find night time much more easy to manage than the day time and often seek out servers that are at night. I also find the game play much more exciting. I am wondering why people are so keen on day time and often leave servers that are night; even in a moonlit night. Generally I find playing at night much easier, more fun and dynamic. Before any mentions it, I do not turn up my gamma at night. Aggravating the infected is much easier to avoid and losing them when they chase you also seems to be simple. Moreover, other players (bandits) are very easy to avoid at night. I have had no trouble with dodging sniper fire at night and generally run into fewer bandits. I may be running into fewer players because the servers are ¾ full, so this must be taken into consideration, especially when talking about how I find it easier. (I will concede that playing on a no moon server that is overcast is indeed, almost impossible.) Personally, I think playing at night is more fun. I enjoy the thrill of seeing flares thrown in the distance and wonder; “Who was that?” Also not being able to see the infected in a city very well so risking dropping a chem. light or a flare to illuminate the area so I can see, but who else can see? And who is that fool running around Elektro with their torch on? I find these things add much to the game. If you are someone who logs out night, or avoids night time servers, you are missing out on some really fun experiences that this mod offers. The mood is also enhanced when playing with other people. A short story now: My friend and I aggravated a group of infected due to being careless in Cherno. It was dark, and as we started to sprint and weave through the city buildings it started to pour with thick rain. It was really hard to see, but it was so fun, hearing the infected behind, the sound of the rain, the knowing that I was low on blood and one hit could knock me out. When we got out of the town, there was a flash of white and it was day. Someone in the server changed it to day time with no rain (not sure if hack or server admin or server reset). We were both really bummed as the mood of the server at the time was amazing. I am no expert at this game; in fact, I would say I’m not very good, I have never found NVGs. If I can survive at night, you can too. Thank you for reading my post. -Timothy

Ghosting the camper snipers in Cherno.

Do you mean ghosting as in Hamish and Andy, ghosting? -
Full Server Name: DayZ - ANZ 8 (1.7.2.5/ 95389) [Verteran] dayzmod.com - hosted by games.on.net http://a8.sphotos.ak...745029065_n.jpg Time: Roughly 14:30 [+9:30GMT], Adelaide, South Australia, 12 August 2012 Hack: All gear in inventory replaced with high calibre gear. (Picture below) http://a5.sphotos.ak...971830710_n.jpg (screen shot taken by my friend) Details: My friend and I were trying to raid the north-western hospital in Cherno as I needed anti-biotics. When having a standoff with an unknown survivor in the apartment buildings across the road (talking in direct chat) both my friend and I appeared underwater, for a second then reappeared with completely changed gear. Before hack I had: Camo clothing; a Remington (+ammo); and G17 (+ ammo); map; compass; entrenching tool; hatchet; knife; about 5 blood bags; an ALICE pack; and other miscellaneous survival gear. After hack I had what you see in the picture plus two blood bags in backpack. I then dumped all my gear and suicided into a swarm of zombies. My friend show off a few rounds with the gun to attract zombies, accidently killing me then he killed himself in zombies. We assumed this happened server wide as we could hear guns shots coming from all around Cherno almost immediately after hack. - We're not looking for our gear back, just reporting the hack. Cheers, Timothy.
