AFAIK "Friendly Fire" is when you try to kill someone spawning in the the debug forest.. so in this case, the "bad" guys (you're being banned to kill in the debug forest) are (supposedly): "BedBanana" and "Rock God 64". -

You can't type in direct chat. You wrong, i use it with my team (1.7.1.5) while i cannot use TS. Last time i used it: around 1 hour ago. -
False, this happened 2 days ago as well (i've opened a thread about it), and Kai asked him (devboss) the gear .. it was the M4 CCO if i'm not wrong.. and some other things. He had to logout and login each time to have the hacked gear... so you can't say he was doing it "unintentionally".

You can CHAT (and speak) in the direct chat.. it works exactly like the side channel but with a much shorter range. I'm not sure what you are complaining about. -
Bizon SD used the Makarov ammo (9x18) .. probably they can be exchanged (like the 45 acp) in the next patches. Firearms chambered for 9×18mm PM: Makarov PM ... PP-19 Bizon

Yes you can close the server configuring the firewall to whitelist only certain IP's (hive and the users you want), so you'll end to have an apparently-only open server, while in fact it is "private" (to build your own loot). But it doesn't mean that eventually the devs won't figure it out and ban your server permanently. -

completely lost my other msg... however the summary of it was: in TWO hours of gameplay you'll end to have not a makarov.. but a fully military gear! If you spend all that time to find a single weapon then you're doing wrong. -

TWO hours? lol.. in that time you'll have a military weapon with enough mags, a side weapon (1911 or a Revolver at least), half of needed tools (map, binoculars, knife, matches, hatchet, clock, compass, canteen). If you're completely noob, so you're wasting your time on the cost or such, in two hours you should have AT LEAST a Lee einfield or a winchester and a makarov (with many mags) as side weapon, plus the above "tools" (that are pretty common, except a little the map). If in TWO hour gameplay you don't have the above, then you must doing something completely wrong! -

The survivors? They were on a ship, and luckily not get infected.. that's why you spawn on a beach (right after the shipwreck). -

Ahah.. you know what? The first day i've played DayZ i've ecountered more "experienced" players, and i seen em running in the middle of zeds groups, and i were like: HEY WHAT ARE YOU DOIIIIIIING!! DON'T GO THERE.. YOU GONNA DIE!! ... lolz.. there were so many guys playing with this careless style (because they are used to play the traditional FPS's and have no patience for a slow paced game) that i felt the "wrong" one (too care). But finally the recent patches adjusted that brainless behaviour, and now you really have to think of what you're doing: the zeds are the CENTER element of this game, this game is called DayZ for a reason... but ppl were used to treat em just like an additional unnecessary element.. no guys: YOU SHOULD FEAR THE ZEDS .. or the game will loose it's purpose. -

Trolls are still trolls.. but things are MUCH MUCH better now, because you need 0.2% of your brain to find a weapon within the first 10 minutes, so we eliminated those 0.1% brain-inactive lobotomized players, that were surprising in a big number! :) -
M1014 vs Remington 870

The 870 should be less louder.. so i would chose it. About the damage.. dunno.. but im sure it wouldn't cont much, they are beast at short range, you don't even to aim.. it's the perfect weapon for the "panic mode": one bang and everything in front of you is ded. -

Ended to the same conclusion.. i forced and forced to be friendly with survivors, and it worked before the bandit skin removal.. then i continued but i reached the biggest frustration after two days of being killed by any single person i encountered... so i turned. -
Yup, the L85A2 is a very nice weapon, since you can use the thermal visor during the day (and it's almost like cheating: u see clearly zeds and other players at VERY far distance, highlithed in orange), the mags aren't that rare as well (STANAG) and it can be used with silenced bullets (STANAG SD): they will be heard by other players but they do NOT aggro the zeds (with NPC's the bullet types counts, even if the weapon has no suppressor/silencer).

Nope, and the magazines are rare as well. Initially you think: wow i found the rarest weapon in the game!! ...and then: yes, but it sucks... lol. (just found another last night.. and left it there to the next lucky chap to visit it; got the bizon instead, it half sucks, but at least it is suppressed and have like 120 bullets (2 mags)).

I had the same "problem", a "serius" character to play with my team, and an "idiot" one to experiment and troll. The only solution is to have a second OA (not Arma2) CD-KEY.. so i did. And yes, it is potentially exploitable.. because you can loot any "dangerous" place with the careless one, since you have nothing to loose, and then transferring the good thing to the "main" account. Bigger is the risk, bigger is the loot. In example with my "careless" account i've collected any sort of things 10 times faster than the other one, but i've risked my life 10 times more (playing without thinking much). Btw it's just an artificial advantage.. if you think at it, playin in team is even more better, and ppl with "RL" friends have an huge advantage versus the lonewolfs or very small teams.

We are probably playing two different games or i can't explain how it's possible that i can sneak around em easily (1.7.1.5). There's so much ppl that pretends to be invisible... how the hell you imagine to not being see by another person by running in front of him? Are you serious? -

Im stuck with it too.. and there isn't mags anywhere (except the crash sites) .. i've abandoned the FAL S4 for the same reason. I hope rocket will add the mag conversion, in the end it uses a traditional 9mm parabellum.

No sound modification with fog, it sounds so much unrealistic to be honest. Fog damper the view distance, that's all.

Play both! :) I know it sounds stupid (or ovbious) but after a while i've figured that there's really no solution to "force" (or call it invite) people to behave like they would do in real life, so the only possible way is to play (sometime!) is to to do the same: being a CoD kid yourself. Until yesterday i played both, switching my gaming style upon death.. but it was annoying, plus i didn't died so frequently, so i've finally create my second profile (why i didn't think about it before?). Now i can play as a "carebear" when it's safe to do so: when i want to get fun visiting the deer stands far from big cities; when i have my full team to cover my back with no risks; when i want "just" to survive. Now i can play also as a PvP'er death-match user: i just switch the account and i go shooting all around brainless just for the lolz. I can even raid the airports without risking my "serious" character. And if i die? Who cares... the respawns are infinite. Plus i can finally try every patch without being frustrated of dying for no reason because of a mysterious bug! :) For most ppl this isn't the perfect solution i know, neither spending $15 more (you need another AO copy, not Arma2.. just AO) sounds a little dumb, but honestly it were being frustrating of having my game style forced on a single route because of the others: if you can't beat em, join em (but only for one half! :) ).
