    The standalone comes from the same company that have SOLD to me Arma2. To have the cheater issue addressed i have to give em more money? There's no "other" things.. the game is totally ruined by cheaters. The number of threads about the cheater is the indicator of how huge is the problem, they should give to it the top priority, instead of making another game with the same issue... oh wait, i forgot.. MONEY!

    Worse.. at least with masskill and teleporting you figure immedialy you have been "cheated".. and it finishes there. But with aimbots, map hacks, and stuff like that, you going to play with "invisible cheaters", that will make almost impossible to build a serious gameplay. Cheaters in other games are ok.. since they are based on "rounds", so you change the server and you're fine. In dayZ, with a "permanent" world, one cheater could ruin your whole gaming experience: you can't hide a vehicle.. you can build a camp.. you can't "build" your own experience, you can only do death-match.. exactly like it's happening right now.

    Did you realized that some (most) have a dynamic IP address = if you ban that IP you are not banning that user, but all the users that MAY being assigned to that IP in the future (dynamic IP's are cycled). On the other side, if you spam (because of a mistake) a static IP address, you risk to force that guy to change his IP (in certain countries it's also illegal). This is why the IP's should NEVER take place on a public forum (cheaters or not).

    Stand alone will use the same engine (with scriping stripped out), you gonna eliminate the scripting but you're going to face the same problem (no-script hacks)... unfortunately.

    You run a company, you make money with it, if you want my competence to improve your product (making more money with it), you must PAY me. Yes, never enough. Arma2 (and so DayZ mod) is totally ruined because of cheaters, there should be millions of this posts on the forum every single day because it is the BIGGEST problem at the moment (much more important than any other "bug"), so stop doing anything (to the mod) you're doing, and concentrate on the cheaters. This is the priority.

    Wtf you're doing? You've not posted only crap logs, but even half of our server users (not cheater) IP's. "Admin" ... pff.

    Many of the recent "public" cheats doesn't uses the arma2 scripting, but memory reading and injecting.. that's the oldest way of cheating (it basically exists from the commodore64 era...). It's so basic and stupid, that even the 2nd worse anti-cheat system (after BE, but still better; called: PunkBuster) is capable of blocking. If you think this is bitching, you are ignorant (meaning that you ignore what's going on...).

    Yes, it's a (very) basic formula to calculate the distance between 2 points (i whould have really made it tridimensional.. but it was just an example), and a line like that implemented into the server (where the possible distance depends on a givin time) wouldn't eliminate the "cause", but would eliminate the consequence of a cheat (in the specific: the teleporters). They will find other ways to cheat and troll.. but let's start to eliminate the most stupid (and cheap) ones. Using this approach you don't even need to know HOW they did it.. (scripts.. mem.. whatever), you're just interested into the fact that the user moved from A to B instantly.. and it is wrong.. stop.

    Yes, with a reduced range (-30%) and precision. You need 5 bullets *in the torso* to kill someone, but around 10 to kill someone if you hit their legs or arms (body damage reduction). You are not going to kill anyone with 2 shoots with that thing.. unless you shot him in the head (then 1 is enough). On the other side the M14 is really a 2 shot-kill weapon. Funny.. i was just going to ask you if you started to play arma2 today. :) PS: in arma it's the ammo types that counts (ie: using SD ammo into a M4 will give you the same result as using em into a M4 SD).

    I know.. i didn't meant that. I mean: if they IGNORED the problem for Arma2 (it's actually fully of cheaters).. why they should take care of it with DayZ? Arma2 engine isn't design to handle with the cheaters, because (originally) it was designed for another purpose.. now to solve (limit) the problem, they should modify so many things, basically making a whole new engine.. and this is NOT going to happens, this is why we will have (most likely) the same cheaters (or cheats that uses the same concept) in the final game. Yes, i'm guessing.. and i really hope to be wrong. :)

    Not correct, they can't ban the "concept", but they can ban the version circulating.. i can give you an example on how intercept one of these hacks within seconds, i can't name them here on the forum (whenever everyone here knows perfectly of what im talking about). I'm not asking to eliminate ALL the cheaters (it's impossible.. for ANY game), i'm asking to reduce the problem, because atm even my grandma can download a stupid public cheat and have it working without any coding experience. In rage for what? I'm just opening your eyes.. if you really believe they are doing ahything against the cheaters.

    What i'm talking about is the devs-inability (and at this point i believe they are doing it intentionally, coz i can't believe into this incompetence) of placing something like this into the server code: if (abs(sqrt((newX-curX)*(newX-curX) + (newY-curY)*(newY-curY)) > human_possible_dis)) { kick(user, "are u kidding me?"); } Try to guess what the above SINGLE code line would solve? This is just a single example of how fight an idiot cheater investing 0.000000000000000000001% of your brain. It took 0.1s to me to figure it out, and coding is not my primary job. Why Arma2 devs (and DayZ devs) are not doing this? It's a mistery.... (no, i know why.. but i won't tell ya).

    The 2 most used "hack" in Arma2 atm are noway based on "scripts".. unfortunately. And the most incredible part is that they are PUBLIC (and free).. and they aren't banned yet (they are circulating by months). These are the "straight" facts you wanted to know?

    It's not that Arma2 has been released yesterday.. it's a retail game and the devs weren't able to fix anything. So, unless they increased their skill by 200% (or rocket alone is much better than any other dev at BIS) i don't have any hope into this being fixed.

    I'm not exploiting anything, turn your brain on and read again what i wrote. It's not that offending other persons on the forum, is gonna increase your brain mass. I never play alone, i play in team .. so we can easily spot those chaps like you and laugh at their chat rage after we have sniped em 1000 meters away.

    Did you realized that you need like 10 bullets to kill (no headshot) someone with that pea-shooter? Man it's the worst weapon in the game (since it's now full pvp; none cares about the zeds nowaday). I could give you an empty wiskey bottle for it, it makes more damage (when launched).

    Is it really a problem? i'm full bandit.. i usually kill around 20 chaps per day.. since i shot at anyone/anything that moves, but most of the time i do NOT have the bandit skin. I just go to the hospital and i do like 10 transfusion to the same guy. Nor that i care much about the skin.. but the white hood makes me more visible, so i like to use my normal skin (blak) colour. So your decision should be to trust or not trust a player based on his "skin".. you should decide from start if you want to shoot on sight or not. And here i have a tip for you: 90% of players shoots on sight, so good luck with your no-full-pvp idea. ;)

    Cheaters/script-kids will never be eliminated, it's a Arma2 shitty coding (and Battleye disaster).. so forget it. The chances are high that we will have the same number of cheater into the final game as well (since it will be heavily based on the current engine, they aren't going to modify how it operates).
