I ask the DayZ forum and website owners to remove the DayZ Commander link from this website until they fix the following "issue". Reason: DayZ Commander is promoting the activity of Vilayer (a known DayZ server hoster). Vilayer is "porting" community made maps without respecting the "fair usage" prerogative. They are also (literally) stealing other works, simply by adding their banner to the frontend and so releasing "unfinished" maps just to attract more customers. DayZ commander is NOT releasing the original maps, but the ones modified by Vilayer (because of their trade agrement), forcing many people to download those maps instead of the original ones, fracturing the community: acqually we have TWO instances of those maps, that are the original ones and the fake ones made by Vilayer, and you cannot see each others while browsing the game list (they aren't compatible). This is the bad part.. there's now two instances of the same map (the only exception is Lingor) and you when launching the game with one, you can't see the servers using the others. It's a mess now.. especially with Panthera. All because those idiots at Vilayer. Ruining something good.. because of money, and doing it illegally. -

Please do not confuse (more) the ppl... there's no such feature in the dynamic definition. A dynamic IP means what i said: you gonna have a new IP at each instance (it can be the same IP for a matter of luck) .. a reconnecton is issued by the user (ie: you reset your modem). If you provider resets your connection every 24h, it is a poor ISP, and i would chose another one... it has nothing to do with the IP dynamic. -

I'm not talking about spending anything.. i've respondend to the "shitload money" comment. A static IP is pretty cheap, and you usually chose it for a reason. -

A lot of confusion for something so easy to explain. Dynamic: it can change (every time you disconnect... or you may have the same for a couple of times coz you're lucky.. but normally it changes anytime you disconnect your modem). Static: it NEVER changes (you can turn your modem off for a month.. turn it on again and you have the same exact IP, because it is assigned to you and only to you). It doesn't costs "shitload" .. here is about 5 euro/month ... some ISP offers it for free on business accounts. -

DayZ Commander helped many (noob) chaps to run dayz.. and that's great, but then they turned into the usual spiral of the "monopoly". Why the hell they are supporting this vilayer (stolen) maps and promoting their host is beyond my imagination.. unless they have been paied for it (they probably gave the coder some dog food (i mean a free server)). -

My idea is that the map is great, but really Vilayer should stop to steal and rebrand others work, and the shitty dayz commander should stop to support that bunch of amateur hosters (they deploy a server at crazy prices without supporting the network at all). They are making money on ppl ignorance. -

Mostly applications (not games) .. but i know a "game" that uses this method, it is Second Life, when you get banned (depending on the level), you'll find banned your account (of course), and your IP and your HWID (that is calculated keeping your MAC address (netword card unique serial) and your HD ID). However both can be bypassed, manually or using tools free available on the net (you only need 1 minute to google em). -

We need to the barracks (Arma) door fixing (like they did with Lingor). I would love also to refuel the vehicles going near to the fuel station.. i'm missing this feature now. For the rest, the map is almost perfect, the loot spawns fine, and into many "new" buildings. -
1. Lingor: i loved it almost immedialty. 2. Panther: this is fantastic, unfortunately it has been released when the cheaters number increased tremendously, so i didn't enojoyed it much. But i'm sure i'll have time for it. 3. Utes: it sucks bad. 4. Fallujha: not that great... players are concentrate in a couple of spots, not much to see.

My motivation is gone under my shoes by a while already... my crew is playing Arma2 MP missions atm.. it was impossible to do anything in dayz due to cheaters everywhere. I was thinking to create a sort of "police" on the private hive servers.. basically ppl *cheating* but with no weapons, just lurking the other players, finding ppl teleporting around, or spawning stuff, or acting "oddly" (ie: a new spawn that goes directly to a bike, then goes to a tent.. kwnowing perfectly where they are placed, miles away). That is basically what we're doing to collect the (undetected) cheaters right now, but using an algorythm to determine if someone is cheating or not... with the difference that a "real" person is a way smarter than a PC. The only (isn't that small) problem is that you need to trust that players, even if they doesn't carry a weapon, they may know every player/vehicles/anything position on the server, and with the amount of "kids" playing this game.. you can't really trust anyone. The other problem is that you'll be flagged as "cheater" (even if your intentions are "good") .. and so you gonna risk your KEY (and so your money). And last but not least: how to find someone that have enough time to look around without playing? It must be a serious nerd! :) -

Hiding stuff: they will last less than a day due to the map hack (everyone can know their position without much effort), so there's no point in doing so. I doubt that someone here have really manage to hide a "base" longer than 2 days.. maybe some months ago, but today is almost impossible, unless you lock the server. If you did so... then you must play on a pretty bad (empty) server, where none else is playing except you (so no cheaters). Collecting a gear: after you reach the "top" (a couple of days) you have nothing more to do.. and even if you manage to "just" survive, you're going to die by a teleporter or by a server mass-kill. So no point to take care of your gear, and no matter how "good" you are, if you play regularry you'll find a cheater or a script kid that will kill ya with absolutely no skill. So, whenever the OP is in rage.. he's unfortunately right. Unless you're a masochist (that gets excited to be raped every hour or so), the only way to play today is: collect a weapon as fast as you can, ignore food, find other players and start PvP.. die (it's better to die in combat than dying because of a cheater) and repeat. In other a slow-paced CoD. PS: from last night the situation is a little better (BE managed FINALLY to ban two well know public cheats), the cheater presence has been reduced from 30% to less than 2% ... i'm still collecting data tho (24 hours aren't enough). But i'm pessimist and this situation won't last longer. -
Flying helis during a server restart

Everything (players and chop) will spawn back on the ground where the server saved their position last time. Usually (my experience says 90% of the times), the position where the heli has been saved is different than the one saved for the players. Check where you landed last time eventually, and the route you took before the restart... if you don't find it, there's a possibility that it "landed" in the sea (if you flew above it). -
You probably killed a server admin, and then he (false) reported you because of rage... so the other naive admins have banned you as well believing the (possible 12yo) "admin" was telling the truth. Souds wrong...? Welcome do Dayz! :D (and yes, you're in the right forum section, but none will help you here.. coz none cares about it. buy another key or play another game)

Seen him.. and managed to snipe him from the electro hill while he was riding a bycicle (!) .. he had the AS50 AWS (what surprise). He sucked even with the cheats, since got owned many times by our team as well.. lol. He had TP hack btw. I'm not sure how this is stll possible.. even a brainless zombie would put a code in place to determine if someone is teleporting! ...this is a battleye/dayz coders mistery. -

Whitelisting doesn't work at all.. and i've experienced it myself. How it ended? If on the public servers you gonna have many random dumb cheaters (most of them are easy to detect and eventually ban), in private hive servers you gonna have initially those some cheaters, and after you banned most of them, you won't have a free-cheaters servers, but the most "smart" ones will survive: with "smart" i mean those cheaters that have enough brain to understand that they shouldn't teleport or spawn weapons all around, but that uses private cheats like map hacks and wallhack "gently" so they will not noticed by the admin, they will also intentionally die .. time to time.. but they looks like "damn good skilled" players. Unfortunately this type of "smart" cheaters are the worst category, having them aboard is even worse than having dumb cheaters, because you gonna play forever with them being constantly owned without having know that you don't have much chances to "win": with the brainless script kids you just say "he's cheating...", so you change the server and it's finished; with the bastard hidden cheaters you live with the constant paranoia of not knowing if he's really that good or if he's cheating, and if you accuse them of cheating you'll be just labeled as a "crying kid". I gave up... this game is fooked up and there's really no solution, until they decides to remove BattleEye and use something better (if it ever exists). -
It was the shitty BattleEye.. they luckily managed to fix it with the next version (1.178). Now i believe that all the micro-stutters i had, they we all coming from this junk software... next test: uninstall it and try to play on a non-BE server to evaluate the difference.

He's blaming Battleye because it is a piece of shit software... and here's the motivations: 1) It doesn't absolutely nothing about the cheaters. In fact Arma2 (and so DayZ mod) is one of the most hacked games, where the cheaters presence is something around 13% of total players. And this is not only because of the script engine, many cheats doesn't uses scripts at all; 2) So far we had this crap on our PC's.. who cares if it silently does his NOT-job... but with the latest update 1.177, it started to freeze a/o crash the client. So now we can't play the game. At least this helps to not have cheaters: you don't play at all. 3) Their reputation is under their feet. I seriously hope they (BIS) get rid of this junk.. i don't care if they have an agrement a license or whatever.. at this point it is better to NOT have any anti-cheat at all. Last night was the worst esperience: hackers, cheaters.. and now freeze every 5 minutes with biblic loading times at each restart. C'mon... -

They are banning active cheats (like scripts and injector).. something that even a coder with 1/4 of his brain working would be capable of.. if anything they are even taking TOO MUCH to ban those idiots. Surprised that there's so many "script kids" around that are being banned everyday? lol (to not mentioning the fact that those chaps are purchasing stolen keys for $3...) ..the problem, anyway, is about all the others. Battleye is a joke, that's why we are forced to use alternate method to ban those players... and i really hope thet abandon this crap for the stand alone version. -

Battleye sucks and it is unable to intercept it (while other [stupid, but not that amateur] anticheat, like punkbuster detects similar cheats), but i'm testing a way to intercept guys using it that is based on an algorithm to determine is a user is certain hack (including map hacks, and teleporting hacks) analyzing his behaviour (paths, location). So far it is 99% accurate.. but im not sure why a player (me) should invest his own time to fight a bunch of kids using a public hacks available on a website accessible to anyone.. while BattleEye (i company that we paied in the moment we bough Arma2) is hardly failing doing it so. I accept donations tho.. lol.
