Chose your option: 1) Because it not realistic (while giving a blood transfusion within 3 seconds that full recovers your health it is); 2) Because it were causing too much traffic to a bad designed database infrastructure (but ppl are causing even more traffic using zeds to suicide); 3) To troll. -

You can't.. someone had the brillant idea to remove the respawn button, without thinking at the consequences (it looks like a trend nowaday...): now who wants to suicide will continue to do so just finding the first zed; but who REALLY needs to suicide (like you) is stucked there "forever". Suggestion: find an admin.. or find a cheater to teleport you again (yes i'm serious). -

This proves that you have no skill at all to handle all of this.. why? Coz you cannot distnguish a moaning bitch, from an user (me) that is explaining what's wrong with your thinking and why this is going to affect the "average" user. I'm NOT the average user, i will the one that WILL EXPLOIT this system taking advantage of it (so it is GOOD FOR ME). Then why i'm against it? It's because i have enough brain to understand that my personal advantage may break the game and so i won't have fun anymore: no players = no kills / more cheaters = less fun. You have tested this system on a single server, you didn't have faced the reality of this mod.. people are going to server hop to abuse of it, other idiots are going to troll, and you don't even have to wait the first cheater to figure why this system won't works. But again.. you need to face the reality, and then you'll come back here on the forum (if you have a face) to say: well.. you were right. Good luck. -

The reality is that most of ppl here cannot think on a long term, neither they think at the consequences, probably because they didn't have to do so in real life. It's that type of person that you meet blaballing at the pub about how a nuclear weapon dropped on that country would "solve the problem". Usually these persons, after facing the consequences, comes back again complaining about how bad was that solution after they have supported it! That's what happening here.. luckily we managed to wake em up and they recoverd a 0.1% of their brain to REMOVE the kill punishment, so they can figure how this system is flawed without much consequences. Anyway no matter how long you may explain em why this isn't going to work.. they need to see with their eyes, because (as i said) they cannot think on long term, they cannot see beyond their nose, they must hit the wall: - Gawd! That damn idiot just quit in front of my.. i would have killed him! [RAGEEEEEEEEEEE] - Let's punish those cowards with this intelligent system!!! (a day after) - Damn i can't quit coz there's someone shooting a single bullet on that building every 30 second. - Damn someone spawned at my back while i'm here waiting to quit by 10 minutes already! - Damn the hacker tipped al of us there and i can't quit! - Damn that idiot is trowing the fookin can everytime .. and i can't quit! - That idiot is trying to be stealth with his silenced weapon, but he didn't realized that i can magically listen at him with my powerful digital alarm; - i can continue until tomorrow... -

It won't change much guys, it would have changed (in the worse) if they have used the "kill" punishment, but with just a message in the chat none would care about. When ppl will start to moan they cannot quit (i mean normal quitting, in example in a building coz you need to take a piss while outside there's an idiot with a makarov), they will simply kill the process, and after some days it will be so common that the only thing we'll have will be the chat continuosly spammed by this messages.. nor because of combat loggers, but because of ppl that wants just to quit, coz this is a damn videogame. I espect the poor no-life/unltrafundamentalist admins to start to ban those chaps as soon they read a "combat logging" notice, and those chaps to come back here on the forum to explain that they just wanted to quit but the damn buggy game didn't want let em to quit whenever there were none shooting around, after a week of forum accusing and shit, we'll continue to play "as is" but having this annoying unnecessary messages in the chat. Now bookmark this post and then call me Nostradamus in a few days. -

For this exact reason they have created the "graphic settings". You don't need to be a wizard to know that a any videogame (especially the FPS) will have cheaters aboard. Negate it is a matter of ignorance. -

Sorry with Dayz Official i tought u were talking about the game (not the mod). I'm also reading the official changelog... and it says: * [NEW] New Combat System If you fire a weapon, someone fires a weapon near you, or a bullet/object impacts near you, then you go into combat. During combat, "ABORT" is disabled. If you ALT-F4/close anyway, your character is considered "combat logged" and instantly killed and leaves a body. so i'm not sure if i've to follow you or rocket, so before continuing you should arrange a sort of coordination. -

The combat system should prevent only the ALT+F4 (timeouts) not the quits, it would drastically reduce the combat loggers (most of them are using scripts to kill the process, not the quit.. since the quit is already prevented by the shock system). Also the charcater should NOT die instantly, but it should remain in game for 30 seconds, so if you just lost the connection you MAY have a chance to survive. A community effort that is going to "infect" the already bad situation we're having now with the cheaters. When they adopt this fantasy solution in their private servers i'm ok with it, but when you try to share a so dangerous solution to the "official" mod, it's going to affect all of us. -

As soon this "brilliant" idea will hit the users, the forum will be flooded of complaints and they will remove it. The problem is that we may need to wait weeks to see another patch. I hope the alternate hives will wait some days before deciding to upgrade. Sadly the map i play more (Namalsk) uses the original DayZ as base. -

Hey mister "i know it".. i'm a damn bandit and i always play with a minimum of other 4 players, we don't do anything else than killing people around, and we rarely die .. and if it happens someone else is ready to kill the "killer" so we recover the stuff back. We're heavily affected by the combat loggers: every day 30% of our victmins manages to quit before we kill em... but we laugh and we look for the next poor survivor. What we know perfect is that ANY SINGLE DAY we meet a couple of script kids and most of the time we only manages to quit, removing this possibility we will kill that 30% of combat logger, but we will die every fucking day multiple times because of an idiot. I hope you understand now why you're wrong. -

Your code works in your controlled environment (as much everything of DayZ works), but the REAL WORLD is completely different and this mod wouldn't works as expected, especially because the massive presence of cheaters. What you're giving here is another feature to troll, and you're going to punish the legit users, forcing more players to cheat because it will be only way to not die by another cheater! I fully understand your good intentions, but i'm not sure if you're naive or what. I'm "whining" today because if this hits the patch, then we may have to wait who knows how long, to have it removed after everyone will finally figure that a "perfect world" doesn't exist. I'm saying this being a FULL PVP (by months already) user, one of those heavily affected by the combat logger (everyday i loose tenth kills because of those cowards), but i prefer to lose kills than not having the possibility of IMMEDIATLY QUIT after the first fooker is shooting those satchels all around me, or because a script kid teleported all of us and have shot a single bullets awaiting for the massacre. Someone have said that a game cannot be designed around the cheaters, it would be true if there's a good plan to fight the cheaters, but at the moment there's NONE, and probably there will never be one for the mod, so you CANNOT ignore the problem, you're fooling yourself. -

The system has designed wrongly... they should have added a timer to logout and not disabling the damn quit button. Now if there's someone shooting around, even if you aren't involved into the fight, you cant quit? Immersion...? This is dumb. I can't wait for the forum full of shit when this comes out... -

I've just noticed that they didn't only punished the ALT+F4 .. they have disabled the "QUIT" during combat, so you have no escape: if a cheater starts to shot near to you, there's no chance you can survive: 1) If you kill the process you die; 2) If you stay there you will die anyway; 3) You don't have any option to search for a new server coz the QUIT is disabled. Good luck to the non-cheaters then... i'm serious thinking to join the other side (ie: using a cheat only to escape to another cheater.. lol.. ye sounds ridiculous but it looks like this is the only solution). -

Wait wait wait... i was thinking about the ALT+F4 issue.. i've reviews the changelog and i totally missed that the "Abort" is completely disabled when in combat??????? Are you f**** serious??? I'm stuck in a house with the damn cheater outside with infinite ammo, or i get teleported somewhere with other plrs shooting, and all the shit we see everyday and I CAN'T EVEN NORMALLY QUIT the client to change the server????? Who's the smart brain that invented this solution? -

Then deal with cheaters BEFORE thinking of any solution that would give em more power to kill us. Sometime i believe that the only way to play this game at this point is to cheat ourself... and maybe this is the reason of why certain players doesn't care much about those script kiddies... they are cheating too. -

Cheaters won't stop to cheat because there might be someone looking at em.. since this is happening already! Now imagine me with the DayZ Navigator .. i go on random servers claiming that i'm the dayz police, with the sole purpose of finding who's spawning stuff, who's teleporting, and stuff like that... this will make me automagically an "awesome player" fully committed to help the community.. or i'll remain a cheater who claims to cheat for the justice? Admins ARE players, it's not that having some spare money to buy a remote server will make you a "special" (honest) person .. so if we're going to legalize this, let legalize any ESP out there, in the end we could use it to find the cheaters! No it doesn't work... cheaters are still cheaters.. and the OP is using a CHEAT trying to catch other cheaters. If you're going to legitimate this, lemme know.. i'll start to do the "police cheater" as well.. at least i won't die anymore because of them.. but then don't blame us when the toy will be out of control. -

We don't have the technology yet to get rid of the cheaters... talking in general: ANYTHING that runs client side will be hacked, no matter what you do, there's no solution: and this is a fact. In the future, when the games will run completely serverside (at the moment the services available are "poor" because of the bandwidth and ping) and the cloud gaming will be mature enough to hit the masses, then we will really have a concrete way of leaving 99.99% of possible cheats out.. but today it's only a dream. -

This could be the worst assumption while making the (final) game: you will NEVER have a hacker/cheaters-free game, and counting on it (like: "ye let's do this, coz we won't have many cheaters") would end into a disaster! The correct attitude should be: we know there will be cheaters, so let think about a solution that wouldn't cause much trouble when those cheaters will be around. -
It's out of control again... already too many ppl with that plasma rifle because of duping and cheating. If those cheaters had a chance to kill ya with an AS50 .. now they can kill ya with a sniper rifle that is capable of shooting straight up to the viewing distance and more. I understand the necessity of looking for new weapon, and the good intentions of having a weapon with a very low spawn rate.. but didn't you learned anything? No matter how low is the spawn rate, first or late half of the players will have it (look at the AS50). I would reconsider this decision, and remove this thing from the map.
