  1. You're correct.. if you're skilled enough you can solve 90% of the problems yourself, just googling... but that's assuming your skilled enough: what looks "easily stupid" to us, may looks really an hard task for who never managed with databases and such. You're wrong on one thing tho: DayZ.st does *NOT* only offers the hosting, it sells MANAGED HOSTING... that's something different than only keep the server up and running, they provides helps in customization and special needs (including Bliss stuff..).

    The biggest host uses Bliss, and it's not compatible with Namalsk atm...

    That was the past.. actually most of the DayZ userbase is about casual players and traditional FPS players. There's something called "Wasteland" .. that is tremendously better than any DayZ mod if you're PvP tuned. I will wait until the new (bliss) updates to disable all the additional weapons, EVR, bloodsuckers and all the childish things to have a more "traditional" gameplay.. coz i wanted to host a DayZ server on Namalsk map .. not a alien-type FPS.

    As the admin of one of the biggest Namalsk server, i can tell you that after 24 hours i have ben forced to disable both the bloodsuckers and EVR... because "my" users were running away... they didn't liked it at all (neither i am, if i'm honest). The weapons also, if i wanted to have more weapons i would play Wasteland... i believe the DayZ standard weapons were more than enough (especially with 1.7.5), now the weapons are different and im unable to differentiate them, plus i canno switch the maps maintaining the userlist because of them.. a total mess. Plus the incompatibility wih the Bliss code is making it even worse: i had very nice custom bases on the server, they were really adding some more vitality to the map, but the new Namalsk doesn't work with custom_buildings and so i'm now stuck. To be honest i really wanted to stay with the previous version.. but unfortunately neither the host (nor the users, coz they all upgraded) makes it possible. Not good...

    Not sure to who i've to talk about... who needs to fix this? My host? Bliss? Namalask developer? All of them? (Side) Desert Fox: where are these custom bases RCon admin #0: (Global) Custom bases are disabled due to Namalsk update (we're waiting for Bliss update) ...i'm talking about the custom_buildings not working.

    Are you surprised? Casual gamers are about 87% of total gamers (overall), and it's not different in DayZ. It's not they are "wrong", while in fact they are probably right: videogames are used mostly to relax and have some fun... nerds apart. :) Zeds are fine.. weapons.. hmmm... i don't think this big number of weapons are going to give much more fun, IMO the standard weapons are enough. The problem is not about the number.. but HOW.. if you die because of a bugged sliding alien with even low-res textures .. then there's nothing cool about it.. you just say: "what's this shit?". Btw i've disabled this "new" addons until they'll be fixed.. i'm waiting for the buildings fixing now, if it will ever happens or i'll switch to Taviana, i think i gave enough contribution to Namalsk so far.. still at the first place (as european server), but it's getting frustrating these days.

    Bloodsuckers are really bugged and laggy atm... that's the problem. About the EVR.. you have no much time to get covered, that's why i disabled it. Btw it's not about me.. it's about most of the users, if most of them doesn't like it, you have to listen...

    Had to disable the EVR .. it's really too much and anytime it happens i "loose" 50% of my users (server goes from 50 to 25) ... i have been forced to disable it. I tought also that the bloodsuckers were only here and there.. but they are everywhere in a very big number, i'm considering to disabling them as well.

I would like to have more informations on why the custom buildings (and kill messages, etc.) are not working for Namalsk, i know that because of the Bliss DB scheme.. but what's exactly the reason? (what it makes different from the previous version).. and when it will be solved? My server were different because of custom constructions, not it has nothing "more" than any other Namalsk server out there... well apart the admin. :)

    Honestly i dunno what made the custom buildings (and some other stuff like the kill msgs) not working with this version of Namalsk... btw it's a Bliss/host affair, nothing that i can "fix" myself.

    Well weapons apart.. the really problem for me now it the not working instance_building (until Bliss updates the DB scheme apprently), it was a way to differentiate my server over the others. Let's wait for the update...

    Too much separation by the traditional DayZ and the customization is making the things even worse than before. Now ppl cannot figure if a weapon is "hacked" or not, in example i don't like the idea of having different than dayz weapons, and "my" users learned to NOT keep hacked weapons (to not being punished), so now if i disable these "new" weapons but a cheater spawn em, they doesn't know if i enabled em or if they are hacked, and are being punished without being guilty. Atm it is a complete mess, it was really hard to fight the cheaters before, but now it's almost impossible and i think i'll abandon this map.. it's gone too further IMO.
  13. I'm not sure how to solve this "Wait for host" thing.. after another night my Namalsk server is stuck there. And yes i've already restarted and all.
  14. My Namalsk server is stuck at "Wait for host" by yesterday... i've restarted it already some times, it won't change anything.
  15. The backup doesn't save certain tables, such as the loadout, in fact if you recover a saved DB the spawn loadout is reset to the default one.
  16. Note: 99% of them are script kids (12yo kids, or adults without a completely developed brain) using tools that are freely available on the net (just use google). They doesn't really know how to hack, they only push a button. If you follow the cheat forums, you may notice that all of them (except the cheat developers) doesn't even know how to install a cheat or use it. You rarely see a "hacker" on a server, they have some good skill and usually they doesn't even play the game, they are only interested into exploit it. Unfortunately in arma2 is very easy to cheat or do anything you want to "troll", due to its nature (scripting), so there's no way to stop these kids.. and BIS isn't interesting into fixing it, since they are developing DayZ (stand alone) to make more money from it.. what's the point of fixing a game that we have already bought?

    Not sure, so far thet didn't had the not_save_weapons feature in dayz.. as soon they will deploy it Namalsk will stop to works correctly (i believe), and we (server owners) will be forced to put our servers down or change the map until you find a solution (that may takes longer than expected). Can't you test it with 1.7.5 eventually, before releasing it?
  18. Hello ersan, may you please increase the size of file sent via php in the php ini? It seems it is set to 2MB, and i'm unable to upload my own backups (tar.gz) via PMA anymore (i did it fine up to 1.9MB). Thanks.

    But then as soon anyone updates to 1.7.5 (it seems imminent), they cannot join Namalsk anymore? Since, if i'm not wrong, it uses the DayZ original files (for the dayz traditional stuff).

    He should wait the 1.7.5 ...there will be new important game mechanics (especially with the zeds), also from then on the "banned" weapons won't be saved to the DB anymore, so stuff like the er7 and other namask_only weapons wouldn't works anymore (he should review the weapon list then), unless you install another mod with it (like rMod).
  21. I'm running the same config (and map) on my home server, and both the killing messages and ingame msgs are working fine... so i'm not sure if it's a bliss problem (atm on my dayz.st Namalsk server, both aren't working).

Audio, server messages are NOT working not because of your mistake (i'm using the same config of my "home server"), but because the servers hasn't been initialized to have the msgs working (it's the --with-messaging flag). There's nothing you can do, only Ersan can solve the issue (i believe they aren't working for anyone else). Same for killing messages not working i believe (--with-killmsgs).

Bliss abandoned the dayzland.eu branch, this is a forced step, Vilayer did the same and since DayZCommander is someway linked to Vilayer i'm sure it will not support the .eu version later on, so you would stuck with a map played by only fews = no users on your server. It's better to switch today than waiting weeks when the server will be already consolidated. I agree on the FTP, we absolutely need it for the customizations, Vilayer is superior under this aspect.. but i'm scared about the new hundred ways they'll open to the hackers with the FTP access, so i would put 10 eye on it and pay extremely attention to any possible exploit prior than giving FTP access to all the customers.

    The only thing right you said so far... i'm loosing my time with you... Bliss is the most used backend for dayz, making sure to talk with em before anything else should have been your first priority, since you know that no bliss DB support = no map on 90% of private hosts. You rolled the ball too late apparently...

    I don't follow the story behind the hosts (i don't care much to be honest), i'm a player and a server owner, it's the same for me, whenever map it is available. If you want to blame someone of what happened, you should blame yourself. Without the initial drama, other ppl wouldn't have invested their time to create their own version, we wouldn't had another version at all! Didn't you tried to understand why these chaps are preferring the other version instead of yours? It's not just about Vilayer, and it's not about the quality of the map, it's about the communication. Anyway i didn't want to talk about this, i've only suggested you to collaborate with the other "creators" (if a such collaboration is possible), or you will risk to waste months of precious time. You have your own idea tho, so again: good luck.
