15 FPS on dayz, 50 fps on arma 2?
[email protected] replied to themichel303's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Well, after having more then 100fps usually during dayz I went onto a different server then one from the normal group I use and omg frames took a crunch, I was solid on 15 FPS so there you have it. Server dependant. There were about 30 people on and it was a modded server with a few extras -
Most defiantly like to stress that the only thing we were shooting with those weapons were ourselves and zombies. We had some fun, then my English friends had to get some rest, where as I'd only just woken up, so I wandered around and found a heli, went and stashed it hehe for later and went about my day.

Well the time difference is a bit of a pain, but then again it kinda works to my advantage, as I can only really devote my time during the day time (aus) night in uk when my gf is at work. So ill be on as soon as she leave tomorrow around 7:30am which will make it 9:30 pm your time which should be good for a couple of hours of gaming surely lol. Had fun today, server runs well with no lag or problems.

Having things on very low is not the answer you are only loading your CPU up with everything and not using the gpu to accelerate. Turning thugs like aa and ppe off is one place you can start but as for quality and video memory you should leave it on normal or higher. Update everything to latest drivers make sure you don't have a bunch of crap running in the back ground and try again. ArmA had always been a computer killer be it because it's not as optimised or just hardcore idk but yeah. You should get ok FPS with your system.

I'm happy with that. If it does effect gameplay then by all means change it back. I monitored my ping while I was in and it didn't get to 400 I was kicked for ping about 350 everyone so here's hoping. Would love to just have a loot around. Anyway I will let you know how I go. Will install mumble on pc and yeah. Won't be properly on till Monday, but I should be there all day here so night there hoping.

No not yet. I'm still at work. 7 on 7 off. Will be home Friday morning Australia time and am super keen to play some dayz. See home I feel but will probably need a sleep as I'm coming off night shift. But during the next week Monday onwards ill be on most of the day during the day which I think is night there so should work out good.

Also just picked up on, 50 FPS on ArmA 2 is still poor. That 680 is a monster card and should fucking destroy your monitor with frames. Hmm update your gpu drivers. If you have then roll them back a few updates ago and see. Also what program are you using to measure your FPS? Fraps is decent I spose so that is a good one. Turn all your graphics settings to max, what resolution are you running? 1080 is good place to start. Seriously your system should kill it. Turn v sync off. I don't run pp effects either -

Man your specs are killer and over clicking them is not needed. Make sure you have all updated drivers and windows updates. Then start to close stuff you don't need. Chances are you have a zillion icons next to your clock. It's gotta be a driver issue. Your specs are awesome -

I think the problem is your gpu only had 2mb or ram. Must be a cheap knock off gtx680. Na all jokes aside that's shit man. I have an i7 950 6gb ram 2x5870 cross fired and get over 100fps with every on max except post processing effects. Cause I don't like the way it make it look. I do however have a raid 0 with 4 x WD 10,000rpm velociraptors soo maybe that helps but not that much. Are you running 64bit windows?
