Aircraft Carrier/Cargo Ship.

I guess it could even be made into an instance. -
Yay for diarrhea stained trousers.

Any signs of a player killing another player is stupid. Blood on hands being one of them. I can just imagine someone sniping another player, yet they have blood on their hands! Metaphorically speaking they would, but realistically... no. It's way too easy for people to gather the best equipment in the game. Hoarde them in tents, so death is not a concern because they can just rearm. Player killing is a part of this game, but hopefully with new and interesting content it will drive people to explore that content rather than sitting on a rooftop sniping people. Some people just can't resist it though. At the end of the day super boredom will result in just wanting to shoot people.

The zombies are not the primary focus of the game. I think they will be cleaned up and acting right, and then that would be that. The real threat of the game is the survivor/player interaction. Zombies are just the topping on the cake.

When dogs are added...

Michael Vick is the new animal cruelty skin. -
The premise of the game encourages people to try and try again... so I also don't think the hardness of the game will turn people off. The only thing that has so far turned people off is hacking and lack of content/boredom.

I have yet to experience a zombie agro me from some unrealistic range. I think it might be somehow possible for some servers to tone-down agro... because I have literally circled zombies on some servers and they weren't even interested in attacking me. (The legend of [bdb) is the aforementioned server. What would you estimate is a far distance? You do realize that those little eye and ear meters shows how attractive you are being to a zombie, and that if you're within sight (and I think 10-15 meters is a reasonable distance) then you will attract them.

Supposedly the new game will be able to run more people because it will be more "efficient" so there may be 100+ people running around on any given map. I do agree I would like to see full-fledged modern cities and not these Cold-war era looking villages. Should have a genuinely better feel like you're in a real city and not just random buildings tossed in to make it look like a city. I think it will still feel like some 3rd world village but I think the buildings will have a better feel and purpose to them. Not just the same Church, Hospital, Apartment complex, Fire house, etc buildings we are used to.

I think the zombie AI needs to be tweaked in general, I like the "some zombies may not have eyes" idea and would limit them on seeing completely but have to rely on their own senses... What I really dislike about your post is "make it easier so people can enjoy it more" ... The game is supposed to be frustrating to new players because you are being introduced to a game concept that is unlike any other game. This game sets you up for failure where as most other games are very linear and set up for success. There is a learning curve involved, it makes you think.

Still thinking on the current "outfit" bundle change eh?
-
Clothing options have been discussed and hopefully individual clothing can be found/worn. Ranging from various jackets, shirts, pants, boots, facial accessories and headgear... hopefully. Along with that the weather system is being redone so it could very well be a possibility. The core of this game was meant to be a survival game.

Bring back the debug menu! or at least another way to find out my humanity!
Dreygar (DayZ) replied to elf cakes's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
The game is geared towards a small group of population who want a hardcore survival game... next you'll probably suggest that there is server side changes to toggle whether you want permadeath, etc. Once you start making compromise to fulfill the desire just to get more sales, you become like the mainstream games. It's what ruined games like Rainbow Six, which wanted Call of Duty-like sales... while their gamers just wanted a realistic squad based shooter as it was originally developed. So if people like you who whine over a debug menu or want easy settings don't buy the game, so be it. -
Case in point. He's reading the map wrong. He's reading it the way Arma 2 (military sim???) reads it.

The scope of the game is to be a giant persistent world. Not what you are suggesting, nor what I would find interesting. Sorry. The game is meant to be difficult, meant to frustrate you, etc. I agree the maps need more common buildings found in towns, and would like to see them in the map but I think the map should still be huge. What you are suggesting is what brings the downfall of games like this. Anything that makes it easy. I don't care if you don't start with a map, are completely lost. That is what makes this game great. You have to venture into the unknown, scavenge, find supplies to survive... Gather your basic needs and then make attempt to find your friend. That's if either of you survive the bandits and zombies along the way. I think this game needs NPC Bandits (Though they are just thugs, because I don't like the idea of them being farmed for gear), as well as larger hoardes of zombies.

What are the coordinates to the cherno hospital? (the one by the apartments)

People want realism. It might be a small number of people but I'm glad this game isn't being produced by EA or Ubisoft who only care about profits than making a good game. -
Standalone should be soon, but I think they should remove the bandit/hero mess altogether from DayZmod. As well as humanity. This is supposed to give you a feel of realism. Only you know if you're bad or good, the opposing players shouldn't have any visual cues of your status.

I agree and disagree... mostly agree. I like the idea of finding a walkie talkie and having direct communication when in range of another player; and otherwise you are alone in the world. This is how I played most of my time in Day Z. It wasn't till I joined a server with side chat when I actually met people to team up with, which added a new element. So I can see the advantage of side chat but at the same time I wish it wasn't there. I just wish the game had more content and offered more to the player other than just running around and shooting one another.
-
Humanity was an experiment and something they want to remove all together. A simple question I have for you. Would you rather have skins, or would you rather be able to customize your character with items found throughout the world? New jacket, pants, boots, hats, etc? <- Is hopefully the direction of the game, and not the outdated "skins" method.
-
I like it, but have your character physically spray something might prove difficult? Would be interesting to see if it could be implemented... There are a TON of ideas, sadly I don't think a majority of them will ever be considered in a game for a long time.

Workbenches and weapon upgrades
Dreygar (DayZ) replied to Ghostdog15 (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Plus this isn't an arcade game. No one runs around shooting dual-wield pistols, unless you're in an arcade game, a movie, or think you're a gangster. -

The idea of a make-shift suppressor isn't going to make you a master of death. It will just enable you to have a slight advantage towards zombies and even players. It will still have a louder sound signature because it's not of the quality of a real (rare) suppressor you may find. -
I encourage you to go on DayZ db, find a grid point and then try and locate that grid on the DayZ map using the correct method. You will obviously be at the wrong point because Day Z, Arma 2, and DayZ db respectively read the map incorrectly.

Well, I am one of the few here who enjoy the idea of being able to plant crops. Finding seeds would be painstaking and you probably won't be able to make some massive field unless you were in a group, and in case you'd be able to protect the land. I also think plants should product every 2-3 days to a week RL time. It will create the same effect as Day Z has on you in general. If you die, you have to find your way back to your farm (like you would find your way back to your body if you wanted your gear) but it can be destroyed when you get there. You'll be pissed and angry and have to start all over probably... so it's just creating the same feel as you already get, but in another way.

This game is meant to be realistic. So you might be playing the wrong game.
