    I agree removing nametags and the magic range finder you get, plus the removal of death messages so you can't confirm their status unless you have visual proof. Plus weapons need bullet rise as well as drop. That m16 zeroed for 300 yards isnt going to be dead down your sights at 50 yards, but you actually have to aim above them.

    You really are only looking at this game from a shooting stand point I feel. Very few people want to spend 100+ hours in some narrow viewed first person. I have played on expert servers, even in the pitch black. It didn't do anything special for me.

    I have tried a few things mentioned. Manual trim, auto hover, and while auto hover did correct my flight path as soon as I took it off it was like I was flying without a tail rotor. I am not exactly sure what went on, and I might have to experiment with the manual trim. As far as landing, again I might have to experiment more with the manual trim (is it just a on/off setting and nothing actually manual?) but I did try a few methods. Sticking it on auto hover, and landing, and doing it all manually. It seemed no matter what level I had the thrust it would either barely lower or not at all. Helicopters have the ability to land very fast/accurately. So I don't think lowering at like 2 inches per minute is very realistic. I would also bounce the thrust up, but again it felt like the only way I could lower the thing was to put it at zero. As for the engines, there really isn't any options... Off, idle, full. So those aren't important I don't think until you land.

    Games like this are meant to be played in multiple views, this isn't a FPS. When I want to aim, I switch to aim mode. Everything else is done in 3rd person. I really don't understand why people confuse the type of game this is trying to be with a FPS. Maybe if DayZ + Oculus Rift happened, then I can see how 1st person would add to the immersion.

    Fix Land Navigation

    This is supposed to be based on a military simulator? Well, we read maps from the left up (Find the left bottom corner, count the ticks to the right that would intersect with point. (Horizontal grid square + Ticks = First coordinate) Then count the ticks up (Vertical grid square + Ticks = Second Coordinate). Not from the vertical to horizontal. Example. In game Cherno hospital would show as grid coordinate 064125, though how the military and how maps are designed to be read is backwards. It would be 125064. A minor fix but should essentially be an easy one then.

    Referring to a round as a bullet is correct, and would originate from ball ammunition. The ball was the "Bullet/Projectile/Round" and it was called a round... Anyone know why? Hmm...

    Last thing I want to see is people halo jumping and shooting... I'd rather see a climb-over popup action than just your characters ability to jump... No thank you.

    Actually they are cartridges. Calling them bullets/rounds (which are the same things, and represent the physical ballistic). Cartridge is the complete combination of Bullet/Round, Shell/Casing, Powder/Propellant. So, there... that should knock the op off his high horse. Op, who cares?

    I support the idea of being able to clear out a city and fortify it, and no zombies respawn once dead. I don't think we're going to get that kind of game however. Cities like Cherno would be near impossible to clear out/fortify unless you had nearly the whole population helping you.. but some of the smaller cities? I don't see why a small group of survivors couldn't make it happen. Hopefully fortifications like barb wire, sandbags, tank traps, closing doors will prevent zombies as well. I think it's been suggested that Zombies will be of the running type, in and out of buildings. The only difference in zombie will be the "progressions" of young/old. Newly infected/old infected. That's kind of disappointing.

    Alright, so my impression of first hand experience on ToH... Wow. Amazingly... not so good. I really don't understand it maybe. Does anyone have any real flight experience or just from games? I had aspirations to being an Army Helicopter Pilot, I've got books and all ... The game seems to combine the collective and thrust, which are two different things... (but usually combined in one unit. The collective lever changes the angle of attack of the blades, while you normally have a handle-grip on the lever which rotates like a motorcycle grip to give thrust/less thrust) The Cyclic (stick) only rotates the rotor and depending on the angle of attack to move the helicopter forward, backward, left & right respectively. So to my understanding you would lift the collective while adding thrust to raise the helicopter, move the cylic in any direction you want to go. Then you would pull back on the cyclic to level off, and lower the collective to decrease the angle of attack and hover... in which you would gradually decease the thrust to lower yourself (something that is missing because they are combining it with the collective) Initially I was flying around in free roam and it was identical to Arma 2. Except descending, which would either not descend or descend too fast and crash. Then I tried it on expert, and it was like flying without a tail rotor, the thing kept wanting to spin right despite me trying to use the left rudder. Maybe this game is just too hard to fly using kb+m and you need a flight stick/pedals, or maybe I don't know what I am doing... but... wow was that a horrible experience. I also tried the startup/shutdown sequence, the only major difference between this and Arma 2... and in total it wasn't anything special. (It didn't require me to get out and inspect anything) In the end... It's truly hard to say what I'd want in DayZ. I am mixed feelings. I want DayZ to have hardcore elements that makes someone learn the trade and not just be able to jump in, at the same time I don't think the ToH is a very good option. Maybe someone can enlighten me on ToH though, and I'll give it another shot.

    Only bad part is you've have to cycle through 10 different things to switch your gun from auto/burst/semi since the throw feature is incorporated in the weapon selector switch.
  13. Instead of suggesting things like this... why not suggest things that can be realistically incorporated in the game... like say... An ABC watch that tells time, barometer (would be nice), elevation, compass, and temperature. Something very feasible instead of a menu that tells you every little detail about what's going on in the world.

    Sorry, Arma helicopters are still very arcadey, the only thing hard about them is their inability to maneuver correctly and you have to overpower the controls to the point where it wants to do some crazy barrel roll, nose dive or something. I can fly the helicopter just fine, I can fly it with/without hover but making realistic maneuvering is impossibly imo. Maybe it is different if you had a joystick. I'm downloading the ToH demo and I'll report back.

  19. Stop WHINING. Rocket has already hinted that he doesn't care if you die when you spawn in. He wants to create a game that puts all the choices in the players hands. So if a player wants to go to the coast and ensure safe haven for new spawns, then so be it. If someone wants to run along the coast shooting fresh spawns, then so be it. If you run through town screaming FRIENDLY FRIENDLY FRIENDLY waving white flags and someone pops you in the face, SO BE IT. Stop trying to mainstream and make this game easier. There should be no ingame penalties for the choices you make, as they are your choices to make in this sandbox. We don't need any visual cues that a player is good/bad. That is up for you to determine with your own eyes and interacting with that individual. As for the op, I agree the game needs DEPTH and Content. Right now, there is none and so for such a reason players have resorted to killing one another for entertainment. Even if the game manages to incorporate every suggestion ever given, at some point people will get bored. People will get tired of going through the hassle of collecting and gathering, only to die. So they will spawn, collect enough to arm themselves and then go hunt people to get their shit/for sport; it's inevitable.

    Flight characteristics of ToH looks way better than what I've seen / am capable of doing in DayZ/Arma. So I welcome that because DayZ/Arma helicopters are simply... horrible.

    Sigh... hopeless... The way the game and the aforementioned sites represent grid coordinates is wrong! Read the first post of this thread, it already has an example! Yes, either way will still get you the same coordinates. One is backwards and thus incorrect. If I took takel's coordinate and read the map in the correct form... So if you read the map correctly and you used 064,123 as your grid coordinate you would find yourself near Berezino. Again, it is a simple fix of the GPS reading the correct coordinate, and then forcing sites like DayZ db to represent the correct coordinate. If you read the Army study guide Chaboski and still can't see that Arma 2 does map reading wrong.. then well.. there's just no hope for you.
