    Hotfix Build 1.7.2.4 Rolling Update

    Some other guy posted earlier that he had to re-adjust HDR & Visibilty to max, then save (click OK i guess) move a little then reset both back to your near normal setting. It fixed it for him. Good luck.

    you can bet the servers clans set to password and the members camped the spawns. those choppers are long gone. us normal non exploiting player wont see them except when they fly over.

    Damn why did i try and play new patch at 12midnight? My "regular" reverse cycle server is down and the 2 i have tried that state -6gmt & -8gmt are actually normal time, no moon n pitch black, i've already aborted 1 server after 10 mins and I'm going to have to abort this as my back pack is full so I'd have to drop morphine or ammo as thats about all i have :) apart from 2 water bottles to change to 1 of the torches I have and i left my G17 in place of m1911 cos the G17 was ridiculously under powered since last arma patch. Will I get a slapped wrist now?

    Vehicle solution

    Have an arbitrary amount / percentage of vehicles that respawn after 24hours regardless. Maybe the Quad & Trials Bike & certainly the bicycle as these have little to no storage capacity. For the non bike vehicles add a more gamey mechanic where the vehicle must be kept to a certain state of repair else it is respawned again after 24hours. ie add engine probs (fixed with toolbox/scrap metal), add punctures so all 4 wheels must be inflatted (either a new wheel or repair & pump), Fuel Tank may leak (pierced by a crash/running over a zombie) so it becomes empty or if its empty from use, no fuel = respawn and lastly if the windscreen is broken (by crashes/running over a zombie), if any of these aren't "fixed" then vehicle is respawned.

    Not enough :) in other words does it matter considering the current system when all spawn points have been pre-camped ready for the server owner to restart his temp passworded server so his clan can be there 1st (which I just read is exactly what has been done with patch 1.7.2.4. ALL the helicopter spawn locations are camped by the clan pre update, server owner restarts the without a doubt temporary passworded server so only clan members can log in and goodbye copters then mysteriously the passwords have been removed signalling that none of us will ever see a chopper except as it trolls us above our heads, unless we play single player (not possible), buy our own server or join a servers clan or we may stumble across their camp which is highly unlikely without a vehicle :P

    question about vehicle spawning

    So basically, as every server has a clan, ALL the vehicles (excepy helicopters though no doubt every spawn point is being camped until found) are taken and stashed so there is little to no chance of finding a vehicle therefor no one will ever find 1 again... hmm this is kind of a broke mechanic, no? Surely the engine can handle some temporary "extras"? Even if it were the bicycle, Trials-bike & quads that were duplicated that at least would be something to strive for as a non clan member as it stands the best you can hope for is to stumble across their stash. Just on a brain fart i'd say If the game is to be considered a sim of sorts wouldn't there be a LOT more vehicles - i'd hazard between 2 per village, around 15 for medium sized towns such as zelero & a minimum of 30 per larger towns like cherno & elektro. Half it at least for completely unrepairable apocolypse scenario and tweak further in relation to player count and that should allow a few spares to go around. 50% saveable the other half respawn every 24hours? Surely something has to be done other than preventing vehicle saves off map.

    m1911 is still 1 shot kill or it was 15 minutes ago when i stopped playing, cos I through my G17 away in favour of the m1911. the Glock17 is kind of limp atm, 4 body shots to down a zed unless a headshot. That needs a buff as technically its a rarer weapon and should at least be a 2 shot kill.

    Exactly, its not in the game yet, Rocket has said a 5 second time will be added and is being worked on for the next update which is 1.7.2.4 - read 1st page or 2nd or wherever I and 100's of others have read this addition is to come.Also its not in the current change log as its being updated constantly so therefor isn't complete yet.

    When was the glock17 You wouldn't have seen the 5 second timer work as it hasn't been used yet. So of course people drop out instantly, the 5 second count down mechs are in patch 1.7.2.4, previous version have never had this timer. No wonder you haven't noticed any difference. :P

    I'm sure I read they stop chasing after 300m unless re-aggroed. Its suprisingly easy to clock 300m when running around buildings to then decide to leave town and run straight for that steep bank (you know the 1 they jump off too death :) or walk up for a duck shoot) when you look back expecting 15 and see only 2. Btw is it only me that F@%KING hates that 1 zombie squeal. EEAAHHHWWWAARRGHH (you try to phonetically explain it :) I wish I could kick & stamp in this game when I hear that beep beep beeeeep.

    Can someone link either 95312 or 95251 (stated in DAYZCommander to be the most popular patch versions used currently by servers.) The newest I can find from http://www.arma2.com/beta-patch.php/ are ARMA2_OA_Build_95310.zip & ARMA2_OA_Build_95248.zip which are said to be used by less than less 1% of the servers

    Thats why the respawn button is being removed to prevent server hoping because the Servers are "choppy" due to people jumping from server to server causing huge amounts of stress on the hive - (badly quoting Rocket). Its a Catch 22. You jump cos of lag which is caused by 1000's of people server jumping because of lag (and other reasons) and round & round goes the server-hop-lag-athon. Only way is to force people not to keep respawning/server hop. No doubt Rocket will have a hot fix ready if it is a fail.

    Many people are either forgetting or haven't read that the main reason to disable RESPAWN button isn't to appease those wishing to loot killed survivors but to lessen the stress on the hive server which is causing massive amounts of "problems". See how it goes 1st before demanding that it not be removed. Reasons given to keep respawn are often rare occurances and though a nuisance for those experiencing them yet still mild in comparrison to the potential benefit of not having 1000's of people repeatedly respawn until a favourable locale is eventully found. Btw this is an exploit, little difference than Alt-F4ing to avoid death at the hands of a killer/bandit. Other causes of dropping in and out of servers could also be fixed with a better server ui that clearly shows server settings, times and versions, making server selection a 1 off action rather than a multiple attempt gamble. Yes Commander exists but not all use it and although better than the server ui it has flaws.

    Its kind of like this atm, lots of "clever" funny people ready to take the pi55 but no one actually wants to help and when they do it will be cryptic or at least somewhere will have the words retard/idiot or similar included for free.From what i read back on page 20 Rocket said this should no longer happen as you are now spawned on the beach.

    I asked if it could be implemented in the game 1 day, spouting "its alpha" (with a lisp) is redundant. Obviously I am refering to future changes and last I checked ArmA2 is very much not an alpha. Though I'd expect a better ui once standalone is released.

    He like you did not understand what I was asking Rocket for (note rocket not you etc) and obviously i used google and i did say "Thanks, you ment well but didn't quite read what i was asking for." to the guy but it was not what I was asking. The info in the commander could be added & would be a welcome addition to a streamlined user friendly interface. Now chill the f out and stop raging.

    Helped? calling me an idiot and posting a lmgtf link - you call that help? and you didn't even understand the question I asked. you refered to 1 point which was the last server yet i was talking about how untidy and in need of streeamlining the server connection ui is, the commander is useful but could this not be included in the game rather than on a web page. And you call me an idiot, the guy above understood the question. You rude little muppet.

    Good to see the community as helpful & mature ass ever.Its obvious I googled it, it was essentially a rhetorical question, as in rather than being quick to dismiss my question (which both of you missed the point i might add) why not explain or give more info re: commander as I haven't come across it yet in almost 3 months of playing DayZ, so no doubt others haven't either. Pfft some people.

    "commander" "commander" they cryHow about explaining where i might see this commander? obviously i haven't. But it still dosen't fix the messy server connection set up & ONLY displays where you've been etc and its on a seperate site so i add the q again. Can we get all this info clean & tidy in the main game? :facepalm:

    Yep, the game will most likely have char customisation, so some unique clothes or skins is all that need to be given in recognition of alpha testing (they gotta be dame cool clothes mind :P ) there is no reason to expect a FREE game purely cos you bought ArmA2 to play a mod. We are very much in danger of getting called "Entitled" if we don't put a stop to this train of thought now.

    I guess you mean the "messy" server list to which I was refering to that makes it easy to overlook the server number/name whilst looking up what game patch, dayz version, (cant this be auto checked? either filter or well auto checked) whether 3rd p (could be set in a filter) is on, if its Regular or Vet or? (again could be set in filter) and if the server is full or not being quite random in its list and obviously in need of a better system? you mean that that commander? ;PAs in a more uniform easy to read UI is being requested? :facepalm: Thanks, you ment well but didn't quite read what i was asking for.
