I see 2 possible cases: 1) Rocket does not have any IT skill at all, he is developing a mod not an entire game engine, after 5 months and over a million of players you can't have a crappy buggy mod like dayz and always apologize saying we are running an ALPHA... take as good example A.C.E mod, it was just awesome.. (it is actually...) This lead me thinking that even the standalone will be affected of those bugs since it will be released in Alpha stage. BTW we have a dev that has already fixed tents and vehicles bug (have look at private hive servers..). UNBELIEVABLE 2) Stand alone means money, Arma 2 Dayz mods was just an experiment to see how to make money..

I regret to inform you that this is not a solution for everyone. What you said is a well known TEMP fix that works only for few users. (i.e in my case to avoid such bug i need to switch windowed mode and then back to fullscreen, sometime i need to change memory settings for video card, ...) BTW sorry for the off topic!

I agree with you, however i guess the only reason why 1.7.3 has been delayed is because graphical bugs are still there (i was told that by a guy who had the opportunity to play it at gamescom) I hope other stuff have been fixed (tent, vehicles, random coast respawn, backpack dupe while wearing camo, .. ) That being said, i reckon dev team have not finished the development of this fantastic mod at all, rather then they are focussing on organizing the huge work for the incoming standalone version.

Thanks for your reply i got lost in this forum and i haven't read it!

I have a huge respect for developers, however at this point i have to admit that there is a big lack of info... Alpha stage works well only if testers can actively communicate to developers and receive their feedback at the same time. i.e Ticket system for bug fixing (replicable, being working on, fixed, bla bla bla) I worked on the IT envirorment for past 10 years i know what i am saying.. It would be very much appreciated to hear at least few words from their side: "Thanks everyone for posting 1.7.2.5 bugs, we are working on fixing most of them..." The only thing i head so far: "Dogs and standalone version"...

You're right, I know very well Arma2, however i was talking about the standalone version! Also hackers are present even in servers with few players.. Today i faced two of them... The first one was in front on me and while i was aiming on that direction he spawned behind me and i died (only two ppl there me and the hacker), The second time i was teleported and killed together with the entire ppl on that server, straight after the server crushed..

Hi guys, Everybody here complain about bugs that are still present on the latest patch. That's ok, we are here to give our little contribute on testing what could be the best game ever so far. That being said, you (ROCKET) should look into the biggest issue around Dayz: Hacker/Cheaters. This game has no future, i can't play anymore because of hackers everywhere in every server, I don't mind to die and loose all my stuff, i am playing to report bug, give suggestions and why not, to have some fun.. If you don't start looking at a robust anticheat system, you won't have success with this game once the standalone version is released! I am pretty sure you are only developing new features and doing some bug fixing, and not putting your effort on the real thing that is ruining your mod! Remember, once ppl pay for the standalone version you have no way to apologize regarding the poor quality of the anticheat system you are going to use. For sure the standalone version will use the crappy shitty Battleye anticheat... good luck with it!

Every player got teleported and killed straight away on the bitch (at least 30 players). After this shit happened the server crashed because of this hacker... Server: LU301 Time: 15:20 GMT+2 Hope it can help!

Hi Rocket, First of all, don't get me wrong for what i'm going to write with this post. Secondly, i am an IT developers with over 10 years of experience in softwere developing. That being said, i'd like to give you some advice, actually i don't even know what is your IT skills/background so please get it as if i were a friend ;) I guess you are stressed and under an huge pressure, however this is something you are going to deal with for a while.. I strongly advice you to better organize your work: 1) Don't work on new feature until you are able to fix major bugs 2) Apparently, you are going crazy to fix those graphical glitches, honestly i think that you should involve Arma 2 developers in this sort of bug fixing, i am pretty sure they will help you out on this task, they will be able to fix this bug in less then a couple of hours. It's not your fault but they know the engine better then you. 3) Once those critical bugs have gone, stop releasing any further update just put your effort on the standalone version and on a possible BETA dayz mod. Four months for a MOD in Alpha stage sounds weird to me, the best solution could be to leave ppl playing the alpha version since many of those are paying a rental fee for their servers THIS IS ANOTHER HUGE ISSUE AROUND HERE... MONEY BEGIN TO PLAY A ROLE... 4) Take your time on developing a possible BETA mod and give the possibility to serious guys to partecipate to this beta stage. PLEASE NOTE, YOU NEED TO RESTRICT THE ACCESS ONLY TO PEOPLE WHO HAS TESTING EXPERIENCES (THEY NEED TO KNOW HOW TO REPORT BUG) 5) Keep working on the standalone game and take all the stuff that actually work for the beta. Hope it can help a bit, i apologize for my bad english. Good Luck, remember you're a genius, you have talent don't ruin everything because ppl make you feel the smell of money.. cya Leomar75
