    Searched around the forums a bit, didnt find anything really related to this idea, other than "Get more variety of loot." So, figured I'd chip in here.

    As I was laying in bed thinking of The Walking Dead, I realized something. I have yet to see a Steyr AUG in DayZ.

    That got me thinking. What other guns have I not seen in DayZ? Well, I took a look around my collection, and decided, hey, we dont have ANY of these!

    So, just to throw a few names out there, here's what I thought.

    Mini-14. Ruger makes it. Generally in .223/556. You could easily make it compatable with Stanag, even though it does have to use its own personal magazines, but thats up to the people who make it.

    M1 Garand. Rough, rugged, dependable. Eight 30-06 rounds with amazing accuracy. Really, in a zombie apocalypse, it would shine. Hunting and survival, hands down.

    Any .22 rifle/pistol. I myself have a Marlin Model 25M and its just crazy accurate. Perfect for small game, and with the bullets ability to bounce around inside a skull once it penetrates [Close in, it has enough push to enter a skull, not enough to exit.]

    Mosin Nagants, but I'm sure someone else has been all over this thought.

    More lever action rifles. My 30-30 is literally my backpack gun up here in Alaska, so that alone should speak about its ability to serve as a multi-purpose rifle.

    SIG 550-552-556, etc. Amazing rifles, carried in 5.56. I know we do have quite a lot of 5.56 rifles in game, but really, its all about flavor. We could all run around with the same M16a2, but some folks do have preferences.

    .357, .44 Mag, 454 Casull. Lets all be honest here, the revolver currently in game doesnt make one lick of sense. 45 ACP in a wheel gun? That should at least say "45 Long Colt". Or, scrap the 45 idea all together for revolvers [because everybody knows 357, 44 mag] and swap it to that. Give some varied skins for the same rounds fired. One guy might have a stainless steel .357 Mag while the other guy has a matte black .44 Mag with a rosewood grip. These are things that just kinda come to my mind.

    The Glock family. Now, I really, really hate Glocks, but thats my personal preference. [i'm a 1911 man at heart, and I cant tell you how much I love having it in game.] I know so many people who stand by Glocks like its the best thing since sliced bread, and they all come from so many different calibers, its just a no-brainer.

    More Bolt action rifles. Its annoying to only have one single rifle that has a decent scope for lengthly shots, and as sweet as the CZ 550 is, I'd like to see some Winchester Model 70's, Remington 700's, etc. Having a big old scope on a gun makes everything better, because hey, you've got quick binocular ability right there.

    Anyway, I'm sure plenty of folks out there are thinking about tons of different guns, but these are just kind of in my mind. Thanks for reading this huge thing, if you did.

    Hats, Rocket. Hats hats hats. Make Valve cry at the amount of hats. But seriously, I'd like seeing cowboy hats. Putting one on and taking off the tac vest of the Hero skin [and the gloves, and the thigh holster] is pretty much how I dress, so it'd be sweet to have that level of customization. Its a big thing to alot of us to customize the crap out of your character in a game like this. [if there were more games like this.]

    Alright, since this is one of the many threads I've seen about suggesting things to Standalone, I'd like to reccomend something. Hats. See, I was a sucker for Valve for the hats, and...well...I want a truckload of hats in DayZ. Nothing silly or retarded, like Flavor Flav's Viking Hat, but real world hats. For instance, I've got one of those canvas cowboy hats that Tenessee wears in Zombieland. I'd love to see it [or some variant of cowboy hat. They exist, damn it!] I dont know how the clothes are going to work in the Stand alone, but, I think we should get a hefty selection right off the bat, considering in a game where you can lose everything, it'd be nice to leave a good looking corpse.

    Hey guys, just wanted to clear some of this up, since I'm seeing a little inconsistency being spoken about the server.

    So, just because I want to get this out of the way, we've had several problems with hackers, as all servers do, and we dont really give them much rope on the server, because the sooner you nip it in the bud, the better. I apologize to Gojira, as I know some people are getting caught in the crossfire, and we will remove that ban from you, no harm, no foul.

    For the "Retarded DMR Runner", that was me, as I was known as GrimmIrishman before, and yes, I did message you about just lighting people on when you see them, because, yes, I was a little "WTF" over the situation, because, well, who isnt? We never did anything after that point, and I surely could have, if I was, indeed, retarded. Later that night, however we did end up locking the server, only because we were testing out all what we could do with it, and, fortunately for everyone, if we lock our server it restarts, so, no real point to locking it. This was before I read over the server rules and all that, and I've seen other servers locked, and thought it was alright. My bad, I take responsibility for it, and it wont happen again under my watch.

    As for the first post, I dont really know what happened there. Maybe caught in a server restart? I know we didnt kick anyone that night specifically, because we hooked up with a big group of friends and we ended up rolling around all day, then getting ambushed up at NW Airfield [Cause thats what you do, when you go to an airfield.] So, I'm pretty sure thats just bad luck.

    As always, I'll be keeping an eye on what folks say about the server, I'm not the owner, that'd be [LPA] Rooster [used to be Brutyl, we've changed over names] So its best to contact him at the email listed on the server if you have any real issues. Thanks again for playing on our server, and I really appreciate you guys spotting these out, it helps alot so we can have a good, equal playing ground.
