Hi, I was playing on FR 130 with a friend about half an hour ago, and we were both in elektro in the yellow pub/cafe building, a ghillied player came in and up the stairs and killed us both even though between us we emptied 2 stanag sd mags into him but he managed to kill us both. We joined the server shortly after we had and went back in the same building and realised nothing had been taken from our bodies, he then came in again and this time had his back to me and at least 5 rounds went into his head before he turned around and killed me. As he turned around a message came up onto my screen (like I have seen from other hackers) but I was killed before I could read what it said. Please could you check your logs and get back to me. Thanks.

It's not a waste of money, you are paying for Arma 2 and Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead, which are worth the money without the free mod.

Download DayzCommander, it installs dayz for you and gives you the option to install the additional maps. It also updates it really easily.

You done a good thing, they shouldn't ban you for that. I think this only applies to a minority of servers.

Have you tried going into dayz/arma options and changing the controls from there?

I try not to get too attached to my gear, but this was just unfair. I had been surviving on dayz for a few weeks now, playing a few hours every day. I had found an as50 in a chopper a few days before and managed to loot 7 mags from a tent nearby along with some nvgs. This has been my best loot for a long, long time. So, today i was playing and I was heading towards Stary Sobor with a friend, we'd almost got there, when I lost connection (due to a high ping apparently) there weren't many people on the server as we didn't want to increase are chances of loosing our gear. I rejoined the server, and I immediately collapsed on the ground where I had lost connection, the leaderboard came up as if I had died but not the 'You are dead' image. Then it all vanished and I spawned in the debug plains without me disconnecting to respawn. I didn't have any of my weapons, gear or bag, just my camo clothing. I've read on other forums similar things that happened to them, and someone said that the camo clothing had caused it. I disconnected and reconnected to see if it would fix it, I spawned in Otmel with once again just my camo clothing. I'm guessing that this is just a bug in the game not any hackers, so if any developers read this, please, please fix this.

I died just north of stary and spent just over 30 mins getting there from otmel with nothing but camo clothes, and my body was no where to be seen, knowing my luck someone probably looted me and hid the body.

Make sure you launch Arma 2, Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead, then launch Arma as Combined Ops through steam first, then try Dayz. If it still doesn't work, re-install Dayz. If you get the error battleye failed to update, try re-installing batteye in steam. There are some servers that some people can't connect to, so try joining a server with some people on.

I was in the same situation as you, I bought Arma 2 combined ops, although most people said wait until the standalone, I haven't regretted buying it at all. Everyone will encounter a hacker/scripter at some point, but if your going to cry about loosing your stuff, then maybe this isn't the right game for you. Do you have any friends that play the mod? Playing on your own is good but its 100x more fun with friends, plus you can play normal Arma with them. Arma's a great game, I've played a fair bit of it as well as Dayz. I bought the steam version from gamekeys4u because they had it cheaper than the steam store, so it could save you some money. If you do get Dayz now, use Dayz Commander, in my opinion, its the best launcher out there at the moment, you can choose between different maps, without having to manually install them. Theirs currently 4 maps available on DC: Chenarus, Lingor, Utes and Takistan, for those who haven't updated yet. TLDR: If you really like the mod, then you have to ask yourself, are you willing to pay for Arma 2 CO now, which is a great game on its own, or can you wait until the standalone and get just Dayz at a cheaper price.
