ya i understand its a sim but its ruining sniping... not sure why you guys keep talking about the l85 like people actually shoot it lol... its a spotting system for snipers... thats it and its amazingly good at that engagements usually begin with some1 dying cause thermal scouts them (due to duping as a large population now has them) if you had to actually go look for people/find them via scope while they in the brush w/ ghuille, the pvp would be way more thrilling. get rid of the as50 while your at it add more weapons that aren't amazing and require some skill

i personally think sniping would be good without thermal. the duping has turned the game into sniper wars for like 50% of the population and the rest learning how to play dayz / screwing around maybe if u got rid of the as50 and made like dmr and svd's(the main arsenal) + no thermal. would leave a lot of room for skill.

even if duping didn't exist. i still think thermal removes all the skill in sniping.

I don't understand why they are in dayz. Completely takes away the point of clothing. Spotters are pointless since you can see everything up to a mile away yourself. It seems like sniping would actually be fun, if you had to work for it.....

seems like something we might have to wait for arma 3 to do or just make small groups of roamers
