Does any one else feel burnt out already?
Hershel Green replied to scaramoosh's topic in General Discussion
Ur right. Those where the best dayz of Dayz....It was really funny to see overbody driving and flying around in military vehicles after a big apocalypse...fully geared with modern weapons and ghillie suits. I think that would be a very realistic simulation of what would happen....after a apocalypse....in a remote place on te planet...with lots of poor ppl...having state of the art weapons.... :P -

U still only talk about killing ppl. Have you ever thought about another way to play Dayz? We have suggested some things, maybe try this out and then return to this topic. I don't disapprove your playstyle but you keep on complaining about boring gameplay while sticking too the same way to play the game. U say the game is to easy, well use your skills and knowledge helping the freshspawns and newcomers who don't think the game is to easy. -
Why should I pay for a game with less features, when I can get a mod with more features for free?
Hershel Green replied to gaelicwarlord's topic in New Player Discussion
You should if you want you shouldn't if you don't...simple as that. -

Jup. I think everybody should do what ever they want. Even bandits are part of the story. If everybody plays as friendly as I do it wouldn't be very thrilling to play. -

@Mos1ey. To much military loot and vehicles made me stop playing the mod. This game is about surviving a apocalypse not a war. There are more weapons then just a m4 in SA. Don't forget the addons you can pick up. -

The more fantasy you've got the less chance you get bored. Its a lack of creativity if you think all this game offers is killing ppl. For example the new health system makes being a medic very usfull for other players. The last couple of dayz have been a blast for me. Even with 200+ hours gone in the mod. I've joined groups of ppl. Left them because they KOS. Teamed up with just 1 guy. Gone solo lots of hours sometimes observe encounters between rival gangs. Trading weapons or other items. Helped freshspawn y killing the Z's they where attacked by. etc etc...Now tell me when did I had to feel bored? -
Another PClike console flop. I think Rocket would be smart not investing any money in making a port to this system. We have seen this kind of Linux based consoles come and go, it never turns out to be a succes. In the world of gaming you've got two sides. PC and consoles. Trying to be in between is a def fail.

Is that going to be the real Dayz Standalone??
Hershel Green replied to johnymst's topic in General Discussion
OMG. Get a life, if this makes you that angry u should get yourseld checked man.Even with several warnings about its Alpha state. The game even starts with warning every f*cking time and still ppl get angry. If they started from scratch like building a complete new engine we wouldn't be playing now. Most games use a engine designed by others like the unreal engine. Just stop complaining or stop playing nobody forces you to play. -

Developers lied, hackers can teleport players.
Hershel Green replied to vegetavegeta's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Hacking is f*cked up. But if it happens then let it be a bandit :) Karma is a bitch  But hackers are always worse then bandits. -
This helped me alot. It gave me decent fps even in big cities. Especially the variables of the dayzprofile file like scenecomplexity etc.. There are a few files which can be tweaked on your system that will give you a performance boost. First of all you want to locate ‘My Documents\Dayz\Dayz.cfg‘. You can edit this file in ‘notepad’ or any other text editor. Open it up and edit the following: GPU_MaxFramesAhead=1 - set this to 1.GPU_DetectedFramesAhead=1 - set this to 1.now you want to open another file, you can locate it at: ‘My Documents\DayZ Other Profiles \<your profile>\<name>.dayzprofile’. You can edit this file in ‘notepad’ or any other text editor. Open it up and edit the following: sceneComplexity=100000 - this number affects your object details. Setting it anywhere from 50000 to 20000 can improve performance significantly.shadowZDistance=250 - this number affects the distance at which shadows are drawn, setting this to a lower value will increase FPS.preferredObjectViewDistance=1000 - this number affects the distance in metres that the engine will draw objects. A lower number will greatly improve performance.- See more at: http://dayzintel.com/dayz-standalone/dayz-standalone-performance-guide#sthash.WLv8Qbpk.dpuf

The only tents I came across where at the NWA. They seemed to be not working at all.

How to get rid of the kill on sight mentality? :(
Hershel Green replied to raynor009's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Go north. U will meet more friendly ppl over there. Most ppl who stay around the coast are used to KOS. A couple of reasons why. - They just started and don't give a f*ck about surviving, they just attack u with their axe they just found. If you went through all the trouble getting north of the map u will be carefull not to spoil hours of grinding. - Bandits who geared up in the north mostly go back 2 the coast to kill freshspawns. Don't get the fun but hey they are part of the story. - There are just more ppl around the coast because of respawning. So statisticly you have a bigger change to meet a bandit or very scared bambi who KOS just out of fear. - Because of the reasons I mentioned above the coast is a dog eat dog world. Even I tend to KOS over there with more then 200 hours of gameplay I still have killed a handfull of ppl. So I ain't a KOS type of guy. I only killed ppl out of selfdefence. The mentality at the coast is far more KOS baised then other areas. So my advise is to get some water and food and get the hell away of the coast and begin your journey to the north. Don't walk on roads heading north. The north is way more atractive in the SA because there are alot of buildings and new sites to loot. My favorite place to hang out is Vybor. It is in the middle of big open fields so I see somebody coming from a great distance. There is plenty of food and with NW AF at close range I can get militairy loot easy. -
U don't like the series but can tell alot about it....?! I guess u stopped watching after a couple of episodes of season 2. If that's the case I agree on couple of your critics. If not why do u keep watching if u think it's that bad...?

Which hacks did you experience so far?
Hershel Green replied to lorneagle's topic in New Player Discussion
Gees. I've experienced hacks just 2 times. Never get on populated public hives though. Let those be the servers where hackers can do their childish copy paste scripts and feel like a real hacker. -
Whoever made Tavania needs to stop with the WALLS!
Hershel Green replied to scaramoosh's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I think u mainly mean the fencing around AF's on Taviana because that can be annoying. Get into a car or truck and problem solved. -
Public character finally died, day 164.
Hershel Green replied to reuben5150's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
164 dayz?! How the f*ck did u survive that? Did u live in the forests? -
GSM network up and running in a post-apocalyptic world is not very realistic.
-
Accidently shot in the head is something I hear way 2 much. It seems u where aiming on his head when u accidently shot him. On the other hand a real bandit wouldn't regret his actions and post a message adressed to his victim on this forum.

AA and shadows are the biggest enemy of fps in Dayz.

Watched your channel. Great clips very creative. Are u some multimedia student or something? It seems that you got good nowledge of camera positions and dramatising images. I will keep following your channel! -
I must confess, I have become something I swore I would never be..
Hershel Green replied to Antheus (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Got at that point ones. Then desided to go loose cannon for a change because I was ruining my own game. It last for dayz because most ppl got out of my way. They must have thought I was some superskilled player or a hacker running around like a maniac with a ghillie and a AS50. Had a lot fun until some bambi freshspawn just shoot with a makarov for being a fool. This experience made me play Dayz alot more. -
If u get it on a piblic hive and join another public hive yes. It's a shame to hear u rather turn bandit. That's the option most ppl choose. I like the fact there are bandits in the game so I must always be aware. But the last weeks everybody seemed to turned bandit and now some servers just turn in to dm pvp. But have a good time killing.
