My fav server, the only one i play DayZ on nowadays

Im going mad here. Direct communication (both text and voice) still isnt working after one month of playing ArmA 2 / DayZ. I am not the only one. This concerns Dayz mod and the servers i play on it takes away 80% of the fun in the mod if comms dont work So, the problem: You never hear anyone talk using voice, nor see anyone typing. They can see what you type, but you cant see them typing anything. (Yes, using direct communications group.) It seems the majority with this problem are using Steam version of ArmA 2 What have been done and tested so far: * Obvious things as checking microphone, making sure its set to default device for recording. * Checking settings both in windows and ingame * Setting up Talk on direct communication button * Reinstallation of DayZ * Reinstallation or ArmA 2 * Reinstallation of beta patch * Complete format of C: and reinstalling ArmA2 and Dayz * Checking firewall settings, both for software in windows and settings for router * Tried turning off all firewalls completely and putting the computer in DMZ in router (open all ports) * Used "Verify integrity of game cache files" in Steam on boh Arma2 and Arma2 operation arrowhead * Startin the game as administrator * Connecting to a dayz server from within arma and not just dayz commander or six launcher * Tried several different servers using same and not same beta patch version * Using exact same betapatch version as the server i always play on has I beg you if you have the solution or know of something we didnt try yet then please let us know !!!

The admin/owner is moving, thats why the servers are down, including the site. Hopefully back up by monday around 13.00 UTC

Once the servers is back up i will offer medical helicopter transport to nearest hospital to treat everyone for their addiction traumatised by the downtime! :)

What happens if you log out far outside the mapborder then log in again after server restart ? Did anyone try ?

The solution, that worked for three of us: Make sure your mic is plugged into the right input and that it is set to default recording device. (it sounds stupid, what would text in comms have anything to do with this? Well, just try it, it seems to fix it! It fixed my mates, he didnt own a mic and couldnt see what people wrote. He then bought a cheap mic, plugged it in and he could hear people and see what they wrote on comms.) Reinstall beta-patch, make sure there is no error or popup from windows asking if it was installed correctly. In Steam, right click both ArmA2 and ArmA2 OA, properties, local files and press Verify integrity of game cache files Good luck

Today I repeated these steps, and the comms were working (atleast voice, never tried text) * Turned off windows firewall completely * Reinstalled betapatch (twice, first time gave error message) * Verified integrity of game cache files on steam * Rebooted router after setting up ports 2302-2306 in port forwarding One of this step has got to have made it work. I have a D-Link DIR 655 by the way

I have the same problem, they can see my text, i cant see theirs nor hear em. Been like this singe i installled a month ago. Steam version

Same goes for me, i cant see what others write in direct chat, nor hear them. I tested this out by a group of 4 people, i wrote "Can you see what im typing? Nod your head if you do" and they all noded their heads. I play on 60 people server which is mostly full, and ive yet to see or hear anyone type/talk. Same for other servers. And all audio volumes turned up to max and Im in direct communication

I found à M249 SAW and when i picked it up My Alice pack dropped. Tried à hundred times wouldnt work. Tried petting pack on ground then put m249 in it, picked up pack then try to equip it again, wouldnt work. So the M249 i found was hacked or was i just bugged ? Cuz your suppose to be able to carry pack with m249 right?

Im seriously frustrated, ive been playing Dayz almost every day for three weeks and i have yet to see a vehicle spawn. Ive driven one truck (stolen from forest just beside NWAF, and a ATV stolen from inside hangar on NWAF. Ive been to like 90% of all vehicle spawn points and the vehicles are always absent. Ive played on mostly empty servers and rejoined servers that has just been restarted but no difference there (Does server restart affect vehicle spawns at all? I dont think so) Am i just extremely unlucky or am i doing something wrong? Ive played lots on high pop servers aswell, no difference there. Ive followed dayzwikis vehicle spawn point guide and also finecombed every city/place everytime. According to dayzwiki there should be around 49-50 vehicles per server. So why am i so unlucky?

Like topic says, corpses dissappear when servers restart ? I died in à hangar in NWAF (well actually on top of hangar ruins, some hacker har exploded and imploded them all) and i ran all the way from Elektro back to NWAF to retrieve stuff on corpse, i had gps nv googgles and even FN FAL with nightscope, the really rare one, and ghille suit. Anyhow, server restarted when i was 30 seconds from the corpse and upon logging back in, i couldnt find my corpse anymore. And the hangars were whole again. Bug or corpses dissappear after restart ?

Yeah i realize that, though i thought maybe there was a timer or something, that it decayed x minutes after restart
