No. When you see someone with a gun your first instict is gonna be to kill him before he kills you, atleast for me. However, since people spawn with no weapon in the start, you really don't risk being killed as soon as you see someone, cause they might only have a flaslight. This will make it 10 times easier fiding "loyal" people and new friends in dayz =)

Sup. I just remember an old memory from my dayz experience. I was in cherno, in a big house, largest one in cherno, just overlooking the town with my sniper. This was in my bandit days, when i was focused on getting as much kills as possible. Anyhow, i see a flare to the west, towards the firehouse, i look there and i keep seing people, more and more. Then they just all grouped up close to the firehouse, they gathered and threw flares and everyone was sittin next to eachother. If i remember right it was up to 9 people or something, it was a really large group. Ofcourse my adrenaline starts pumping quickly so i didn't give any thought about print screening it, so ain't got no proof sadly =(. It was however one of the coolest sniper moments i've had. So many targets =) Anyhow, i start by headshotting one of em, they were sittin still so it was easy, then they start panicking so i just start unleashing rounds everywhere among them hitting alot of them, i only got 1 kill from the headshot tho early on. I had a DMR and a bunch of mags so i didn't care bout that, they spread around my house and i take down 3 or 4 more. Then i decided it was time to get out of there, cause they knew where i was. I get down from my tower and sneak away, then it starts raining. And it was this kind of Annoying rain, i couldnt even see my own character. I've only seen rain like that once, ever. And god it was painful. Anyhow i just got out of the town, no way i could see anyone in that rain. So they asked who the sniper was, i gladly took credit and then they started flaming me for a few mins :P It was hilarious tho, it was one of the coolest moments i've had in Dayz. But that's also the only time i've ever seen more than 3 people together. I play in a group of 3 myself, we are all irl mates. TL;DR - Is it common or really uncommon to find groups of 4+ ? And if so, do they mostly just keep to themself, maybe raiding NW airfield and then just retreating to their cars? I'm just curious :P

I've never been on a server where people have been hacking. I've never found "hacked" items or anything of the sort, yet so many people seems to have actual issues with them.. I mostly play on Eu servers, i guess it aint that many hackers there, huh? :O

Dayyuuummm son! You be bitchin'!! Learn how to play this game really. Let me explain it. This is my story. My first few lives of dayz, when i was a noob, i was constantly looking for "friendlies" to play with. It was rare to find some, they mostly just shoot you, but after some time i found a guy. We played together and we were both loyal to eachother, we were using mics and had added eachother to steam and such. Finally i had found an ally and could continue my mission. Both of us were newbies and wanted to stay friendly with everyone. After a few lives we figured out that, being friendly with everyone is never gonna get you "rich" as in letting you keep good equipment and such. We started being hostile to everyone but the ones we knew irl, or "trustable" persons ingame. We started getting loot, good loot, weapons with aims and stuff. Then ofcourse we die cause we didnt play carefully enough. I think after about 100 hours of gameplay, i really learned how to play this game good. I've played a total of 217hours of this game. And i gotta say, i've become really good at it. Doesn't matter if i'm solo or with friends. When i play, i don't die. I've been in very many firefights vs other players, i'm simply better. How? I play safer. Really, you can play it safe or play it unsafe. I would prefer crawling for 5 minutes around in a city if i knew someone else was there, rather than crouch running. Why? Cause if i die, i lose 30 hours+ atleast, of my progress. Yesterday i was looting a town up north, i hear a car. I was playin solo. They stopped the car near the city, looting houses. Then i asked in chat if i could join their crew. Also i asked if they were friendly, no one replied and shortly after they ran back to the car and drove away. I followed the car on foot, running along the treeline to make me harder to spot. Then i see 2 persons crouch running towards the city i was in, i avoid them and keep heading towards the car. Further out i find the car hidden behind trees, and 1 guy guarding it. I take him out and then rush to the car, knowing the other 2 weren't close. I get in the car and drive to the city i was in, i manage to kill one by driving on him, the other one got away. I was happy with the results tho, i just drove away and stashed the car for when my friends came online. This whole event took like 1 hour, why? I was sneaking like hell. Stealth = win. You can't trust people in this game. In my experience the only people you can trust is people who are willing to get on skype/ts3/whatever with you and speak to you, those are usually "friendly" Although i have found unfriendly people there, just talking to you finding your location and killing you. It's unlikely. Either find people like that, or get IRL friends who play this game. TL;DR - Basically, trust no one but your close friends or people whose willing to get on a microphone program with you and talk with you. Play safe. And stop bitching and get more experience, really. The pvp part of this game is what makes this game AMAZING imo. In ANY other game that i've played, i've never faced theese harsh punishments for dying. You lose EVERYTHING, all your progress and weapons and gear and shit, the only thing you don't lose is your experience. With that said, die much and die often. But in time you will learn from your mistakes and be able to survive longer and longer. Just keep at it bro! Btw, if you ever manage to get good gear. Just wait until you get into a firefight with another player, your heart will be pumping so hard and your adrenaline will be flushing cause it's so much at stake. No other game in my entire life has given me that experience, thus i'm playing this game.

Meh, once you're a bandit, unless you're a coward you're never going to be a survivor again. When i was still new and was a survivor my biggest wish was for me to find a group to travel with, some other survivors. But every single one i met killed me. Later on i managed to kill 2, yes 2 survivors that were both shooting at me. I became a bandit. Now since i'm a bandit i have to "afk" or just stay away from cities/other players long enough to return to a survivor again. I was like "fuuk that!!". I still kept going into the cities, and now EVERYONE was shooting at me at first sight, i learned how to play better and i came out winning in almost every fight i came into. When i was down all the way to -10.000 humanity i thought to myself that i will NEVER wait long enough to return to a survivor again. So i made killing survivors into a sport. Now i kill every person i see, cause they will 98% of the time kill me if i dont kill them first. I'm down to -120.000 humanity now. But i don't give a fawk, i gave up hope of returning to survivor skin at 10k. imo it's literally impossible for me to return to a survivor, unless i dedicate HOURS of my time to just, staying away from everything, or spamming blood bags on my IRL friend or something. The system made me into a hardcore bandit. :)

Sup! So i was just wondering if other people actually get "scared". When i was new to the game, i was frightned of zombies, i tried to avoid them at all costs. And players? I tried to group up with them. However The more time that passed, the more betrayals i experienced, and the more experience i got overall i learned how to kill zombies, easy. I'm never concerned about zombies, the only annoying part might be where they manage to break your bones or knock you out when there's a bunch of them coming, but seriously, i hardly dont bother sneaking in towns no more, i just run trough them, enter a house and finishes them off, easily. The only "scary" moments i get in the game atm is from other players. For example, me and my m8 logged in, we were on a high building, i was at the top he at the bottom. I was waiting for him, he ran up and we didnt expect anyone to be there. Then i hear someone shooting and he yells in skype that there's 2 guys there, camping and just killed him. I fking freak out, i had good shit and didnt want to loose it. I didnt know what to do so i threw a grenade downstairs. I hear the bang and shortly after someone going "Urghht". Then i got 2 murders on my debug monitor :D I got down to check their stuff, i've never gotten this good loot from anyone or anything. They had 24 slot backpacks, both of them. one had a DMR with 3 mags and a G17 with 5 mags. The other one had AKM with 5 mags and a PDW with 4 mags. I was seriously shocked to see this kind of loot, i picked up what i could, the dmr and the g17. Then i camped there, waiting for my friend to get back to take the other guys shit. While camping the guys that i killed wrote in the side chat about how they were killed, and some other dude, their friend was getting closer he said. I heard shots down the building at the bottom, i figured it was for zombies. I just covered the stairs until he'd come. A minute after he shows up, barely showing his head, i freak and just spam my g17 towards him, i missed. I switch to the DMR, retreat further back and wait. 5 minutes later he takes the courage to walk up the stairs, i finish him easily with the DMR. I loot his shit, wasnt that impressive but still. I got him. My friend is almost back, when he came back he got the good shit from the body, and we logged. During this whole time, my hands were seriously shaking, my heart was beating incredibly fast, my legs were tapping the ground. Seriously... it was insane.. I've never gotten that kind of feeling from ANY other game that i've ever played, never been in such a "scary / intense" moment :D Oh god, it was awesome!

Yeah, i kinda dislike the ammo update now. I mean, i agree that it is good so that people can't exploit endless ammunition. But At this moment i'm using a SAW that has 200 bullets in a magazine. Sometimes i loose around 80 bullets cause i logged out before i wasted them. Kinda sucks for weapons with big magazines but yeah, it's good.

Hello! I'm just wondering if anyone knows the spawn locations of different vehicles? So far during all my time i've been playing i've only found one car. GAZ, spawns infront of the TEC building in elektro, close to the docks. That's all i know so far, i'd love to know more spawn locations if possible!

Got a SAW, (Machine gun) That oneshots zombies and 2 shots people. I got 4 boxes of ammunition for it, one box contains 200 ammo. Alice bag, some steaks. M1911, that's about it i guess. Had an ak with a scope, and like 6 clips, threw it away instantly when i found my machine gun =)

I started off by being friendly to everyone. Whenever i met a survivor randomly, or agreed via the chat, i was killed. Everytime. So yeah, 5 deaths later i stopped trusting any players. So now i only trust my RL friends and 2 guys who i met in the game who actually is loyal and not a random pker. When i play with them, i play as a friendly, and i did so for a time, we found a car and i had around 500 zombie kills. Was my most awesome life so far, then a bandit came up and took me and my buddy out with a sniper. We lost the car and all our shit and stats. After that i went on a short rampage in cherno, sniping everything, dropped to around -20.000 humanity. Then i started playing friendly again, and once more we were killed. Then i was like "Fuck it" And from now on, i will ALWAYS shoot players that i don't know, as SOON as i see them. Also, me and my friends usually go to elektro/cherno for the single purpose of killing people. Other bandits created new ones. I'm currently down to -53.000 humanity in like a day or so. Constantly killing players i dont know. I won't ever risk losing my stuff again. I never go to NW airfield, cherno or elektro if i don't have my friends with me. And i always kill people that i don't know. Sometimes, i do it only to get my humanity lower. Aiming for 100k.

Hello, i was just wondering how i login on the www.dayzmod.com site? I'm trying to login there using my forum name and password but it doesn't seem to work? And i also cannot find a "register" button on that site. I was just wondering if you had to be logged in there, atleast once to get on the leaderboards? Or how often the leaderboards refresh? Cause i should be on a leaderboard atm but can't see me =(

Hello, so my friend is trying to connect, he did everything the way i did it, and it works perfectly for me. He however get's stuck in the lobby after he presses "OK" in the bottomright corner. It just says "recieving data". After a few seconds he gets kicked out of the server. I read some other threads that has the same problem, and the solution was to reinstall battleye? He did it, twice. Nothing happend. He even uninstalled both Arma 2 and Arma 2 operation arrowhead, then installed them again, but to no avail. The problem is still there. We tried exiting steam, running it as moderator and try to connect again, didn't work. He has created the correct maps in his steamfolder that is required, he has the same map as i have. I told him what to create and what to type. He is playing it from steam. He edited the launch options so that it would work on steam, he has the same launch options that i have. Why does it not work for him, but for me? --------------------------------- We have decided to open up this forum for posting bugs, but the threads will require moderator or admin approval first. There's an easy fix that worked for my friend. Restart the computer Run steam as administrator Then it should work.

As i said, his files are exactly as mine, i double checked it by checking his screen using skype. It's in Steamapps/common/arma 2 operation arrowhead/@dayz/Addons Inside of the addons folder is where he extracted all the files. He has it exactly as i have. He tried following all of theese tips. http://dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=498 It still wont work. FIX --- FIX --- FIX He restarted the computer, and then ran steam as admin and it worked.
