I'm sure its been said before but when I player dies, either from zombie death, player killing or starvation it would be cool if that player then gets up after 10mins and then becomes a zombie, complete with all loot not in their hands when they die. I dont mean that you can then control the zombie, you'd respawn and carry on playing as a new chartacter. Then over time their equipment would degrade until its totally ruined then either dropped or it disapears. That way if you do want to try and get your loot back you could effectivly hunt down the zombie that killed you, maybe thats a bit far fetched but it would give reason to each one of the infected. It might then give people a reason to kill zombies.

    This is what melee combat is like in Dayz and this is what it will always be in Dayz. Its the wrong engine and it will never be anywhere close to something like dead island. Sadly.

    I think they would be pretty stupid not to use it or to start making the game without leaving the posibility. Hopefully the devs are not retarded.
  6. Now I remember a while ago I learnt that you can actually open a tin can using just the concrete ground. Whats the chances of this being added? Oh and I found a video that shows how to do it.

    The issue is that there isnt enough types of outfit when fully tooled up. Running with 5 guys all with gas masks and m4's isnt easy to find out who is who

    Not sure a lot of you actually read the OP and have just jumped on the no tags, no way, not ever wagon. Sure, tags when you are sitting in a tree line scanning the horizon is a bad idea, im pretty sure everyone would agree with this but standing right next to a group of people and not knowing who is who is a pain in the arse. Even if there was a buddy system as mentioned it would work and perhaps an option to turn it off. Or better yet, tags dont work if you are wearing a gas mask, balaclava or other type of mask and you can only see your buddies name if you can see his face. In realism terms you wouldnt know joe bloggs because you havnt met him yet, your friends however you would know their name, their size and could regonise them within 10meters, maybe 2 meters at night. To me thats a better more realistic system than what is currently in place.

    Im hoping that some of the transition animations will be smoother, for example climbing a ladder. Maybe even a dive to prone, slightly more noise dependant on ground type but a lot quicker. I'd love to hear more about a melee system as well if you have time.

    It takes just 1 person to point a camera and record sound. Its what I do for a living, I wouldnt expect anything amazing like I already said and as I already said it was good information just poorly presented. Im not bashing the game or saying it was terrible, all im saying is that it takes literally hardly any skill to aim a camera in the right direction and get it in focus. I'll leave it at that and let the thread get back on topic as its not the polish and finer details that are important to everyone else out there. Good picture of a girl though from the other guy, i've never seen that before, not exactly mature, top marks for originality.

    If they have in fact made it look crap on purpose then I congratulate them as it must have been harder to do than something half decent. Im not saying it has to be an amazing video with AE renders and all that crap but at least the basics should be solid. The content was there but hidden behind a 'who gives a shit?' kind of a video.

Poor attention to detail that could be carried across to other things that 'are not important' " Everything is important to sell a package, it shows how much they care about getting the word out. If they had a proper video, time spent putting together a real video blog then it would set them apart and thats something that is massive in this day and age.

A group of 4 of us went on a mission to the NE airfield, I stayed up high over looking with a sniper while one other moved around to the right a bit and the other two went down to the control tower. As player 1 and 2 were moving closer to the tower player 2 started to loose control of their character and watched as his switched to pistol and then shot the other player. We were chatting on teamspeak while this happened and I watched as the player 2's name changed to ROB. I opened fire and hit him a couple times with the AS50. He then turned to my direction (im in a gillee suit) and started firing. After hitting him 3 or 4 times in the head he went down. The player who lost control had logged out to the lobby and when he relogged he was standing next to his body. There was also no Rob in the server although I saw the Darklynx killed rob or whatever the message is and my murders didnt go up. So can hackers take control of players now?

  24. If people constantly complain about the hacking then perhaps they will get on it. Im pretty sure if they cant figure it out on this version then its going to be the same on the stand alone, either that or people just wont bother giving it a go. I kind of see the hacking like smoking, seriously, whats the point, it was cool pre 90's but now you just stink. Its not like they are doing anything interesting like changing the zombies to teletubies or making the blood splats look like paint.
