I just updated the arma 2 beta to 94876 but when I ran the file I got a box that said wrong cd key. After clicking ok it goes through to install the beta patch but now I cant join any servers, even ones that state 94876. Every beta patch has installed fine up until this point.

I was thinking how cool it would be to add a number of professions to dayz. Each with their own pros and cons. I've been trying to thing of different professions and what their good and bad points would be, perhaps a mechanic could fix cars up more easily but not be as good a shot. An athlete could run faster and further without needing to rest but they need more food. Sniper, better shot with rifles, bad with pistols. Ranger, starts with a map and compass Maybe someone else has thought of this but it would be interesting to hear your ideas.

Thats more like it :) the packer and theif profession would be great, or maybe just have all females be great packers ;) If they were to choose skill sets that enhance weapons then the drawbacks would have to be significant. I would imagine to leave them out would be a much easier option. Perhaps in the story of Dayz its set in a country where everyone has done National Service which means they all know how to fire a weapon.

Im not sure I like the idea of learning new skills as it is just too easy to exploit and when you know them then there is no point to team up. You could however advance your skills by making things quicker and more effective. For example, anyone can change a tyre on a car but putting an engine in is harder. When you play as an enginner or Mechanic then you can fix the engine, each time you do so it becomes more sterdya nd lasts longer. With a doctor you can bandage quicker, there is less chance of infection. ..and to the guy who says it will never happen, this game is pretty much nothing right now, its an alpha with a very basic idea. They are doing a fantastic job with the basic idea but we all know that it needs to build and progress into a full game. With the popularity that its already obtained it will not be long before either the guys at ARMA start designing Dayz from scratch or another company starts to impliment a lot of these suggestions into a new engine. It would be foolish not to as it could be an amazing game.

i've been wanting to die for a while though but to something legit. It would have been more annoying if a hacker killed me or someone I was with dropped a grenade by mistake. I lost my guille suit, m4 SD and AS50. The only thing I never found was night vision.

whats to stop me setting up a trade and killing you?

It would be great if we could pick up a dead body and throw it over the shoulder. Movement would be slow however you could then put them in a vehicle and return all the items to the person that died. Could also be possible to get your own camo suit back as well.

I was thinking about the realism factor

I like the not hearing through stuff but how does this work. Say for example a zombie is one side of a building and you are the other, does this class as a single object, two objects for each wall or not at all as it only works when you are inside and they are outside?

Im pretty sure its one of the first things i'd add to my gun as its not something thats tough to make. A bottle some, tape and you are good to go. Now obviously this wouldnt be as good as a real Suppressor and would not last as long but if it was possible it would be a great addition.

I think it might be because the engine is terrible and im sure that not a whole lot can be done about it. Its the one most annoying things about Arma because normally when I climb a ladder I dont stand there and think about climbing it for a couple seconds.

Some of the vehicles stick out like a sore thumb, it would be cool to have a camouflage tent to lay over vehicles when not in use. Also, laying down the bike would be cool.

Right now i've been alive for 28 days, I want to get to a month. It's not like i've been hiding away and only logging in to eat and drink as i've been on every night for a few hours. There have been a number of times that i've come so close to dieing, broken legs, hourglass countdown. Almost dragged out of gunfire but i've lived through it. Last week I set a goal to make it to 30 days, and after that im not so sure. Maybe i'll set up another tent somewhere and blow my brains out. Im not sure how i've lived this long although I try to think smart when going charlie mike and im not a bandit so havnt killed many people and only in self defense. So how long have you been alive?

I think im at 30 now, so i've made my goal. Went into get car parts last night which was tough and go in the dark rain but we managed to get out alive. As for gear i've been doing well, had an M107 and M4 SD before the M107 vanished. The M4 SD has served me very well so far and the gillie suit helps keep me alive.

^^ Yeah what happens when you lock a door log off and then join another server. Also, you could join a server, go inside a building that has a locked door on another server and then rejoin and then you are inside the locked building. Its an interesting idea but there are a load of holes.

The issue is some people have real lives which sometimes pull them out of games at totally random times. This means you wouldnt have an option to go hide in the middle of the woods. The 2nd issue is that what happens if you log out of one server and then onto another?

Also laggy for me. Uusally have 60+fps on max @2560x1440 Windows 7 64bit

do other people see the changes?

buy the game then thats it. Get the game working right and you dont need to add anything else apart from a few little updates to fix crap you missed.
