I have had the same problem... I am playing with the experimental patch... seems to occur in First Person view http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/207047-hacker-or-bug/

Recently I have thrown weapons when trying to perform another task while the weapon was in my hands. The weapon disappears after I throw it, I have tried to find it on the ground and waited several minutes to see if the server makes it pop back on the ground. It does not happen often, which makes me suspicious that it may not be a bug. My question is: is it a bug that anyone else has experienced or is this a new hack on the experimental servers? I reported it as a bug but I am now suspicious it is a hack.

I was refering to experimental.... I guess it is an older bug if it is also on stable

I thought it might be a hack since the weapon vanishes... I figured it might be a new way for them to steal your gear. I have noticed though in the First Person View I often also have problems with crouching and crawling if I am holding onto to something. I sorta pop back up instead of going into the crouch. If I switch to third person then I crouch/lay just fine

I feel your pain... I am stuck in the knee high water... I have tried everything and submitted a bug report with my steam id.... so for the time being I can not play hardcore as this is the character stuck. I even fired my gun off hoping zombies would come kill me.... alas.... I am full energy and hydration..... sigh

I think the consensuses I have gathered is no one has a fix for it.... its an alpha bug that the developers need to address.

I tried the work around and it had no noticeable change. Everything is still blurry and mostly impossible to play.... hope a hotfix is on the way

How do you thrust with the Bayonet on the rifle?? Is there a key binding for secondary attacks?

It is Alpha I have been reset more times than I can rememeber, I have been shot once by a bandit.

I am on a FPS only server but sadly I have no way to identify which server I am on. Unless you can tell me?

I searched the forums and played around with the configs in DayZ, but I can not seem to figure out how to identify the current server I am on. Is there a way in game either at start menu before you play or during play to identify which server you are playing on?

I have filed bug reports on this but I was intersted in hearing how many of you will log onto a server, loose all your gear and end up on the coast. I can tell it will happen as the game loads into the server as the sound of the coast occurs before the screen opens..... and presto I have been wiped. I have been player killed once since alpha release, wiped once by Rocket ;), and random wiped at least 20 times. This is the largest problem I see that needs to be addressed at the moment. Is it related to server stability? I know some have suggested it has to do with 'White Listing' of servers but this has occured on a server that I was already on and was rejoining again at a different time. It has also happened when rejoining a server that I got the time out and red link icon. What are your thoughts?

This has occurred on the same server randomly.... so if I do get wiped on a server I switch to a new while at the coast (so if it I am going to get wiped for switching servers it can happen in the beginning) I have found no pattern in when or how it occurs. I sometimes log back on and its fine, and other times it is back to the coast.

I understand that, but it does appear to happen quite a bit. And as others have stated it has happened multiple times in one day.

I am totally fine with the condition of Alpha and also totally cool with it being a 'work in progress'. It just seems to be for me like playing roulette every-time I log off the game. 'Will I have my character and stuff when I log back on or will I return to the coast." It happens so often that I really no longer worry abvout gear or even illness. I just run around kill zombies and talk with players ... the survival part of the game (a large part of the game) is senseless with the constant threat of a reset.

Military hardware needs to be extremely difficult to find. Only 5% of total weapons/equipment throughout the loot population.

I have had one random wipe so far.... but with the loot tables all askew it is really not that big of a deal. I was geared back up in about 20 min and north again in another 20. The part that hurts the most for me with the wipes is ending back in the KOS of the coast. It is just littered with half dressed dead bodies ;) Well I should have kept m,y mouth shut.... I just got a random wipe again! Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

Screw all the hacking prevention/server stability/map mods! I need a beard!

Do birds randomly fly in the sky like rabbits in the land? I know developers and hackers use them to look around the map. I was walking in the wilderness and came to a clear hilltop and saw a bird flying. It kept circling me (5 or 6) times. I should have taken a screen shot but after the 6th circle it freaked me out and I switched servers. So did I just let my paranoia get the best of me or was this a possible hacker/developer?

Best yet when I landed on the new server I was reset and on the coast. Ahhhh the Alpha ;)
