Everyone on our server being kicked for Script Restriction #90

While playing yesterday on our server, I fell off the stairs in the firehouse at NE Airfield and I was immediately kicked for Script Restriction #90. Now no one can get on our server - you're instantly kicked for the same "violation" This is Line 90 in our scripts file 1 JIPexec !"\"JIPexec\"," !"rJIPexec = 'JIPexec'" !"rJIPrequestcode = compile PreprocessFile (BIS_PathMPscriptCommands + 'JIPrequest.sqf')" Shouldn't be kicking for that? I've tried restarting and nothing seems to work. TIA -

I just had the exact same thing on my server. It must be a script? I spent about three hours with an entrenching tool and a toolbox removing it all. It had about 150ish tents in it - all empty. -

Well that took a long time to dismantle. My toolbox and entrenching tool earnt their keep today. The camp is no more. -

Just found a hacker who had made a massive camp on our server consisting of around 100 (yes, one hundred) EMPTY tents, surrounded by around 150 tank traps, 100+ sandbag walls and 50+ rolls of wire. Dismantling it now. Every tent is empty. Looks like it's a script-built camp. -

Such an awesome idea. We have someone who comes on our server during the night and goes invisible, and then plays creepy distorted jewelry box music globally to everyone. It really does freak people out. If this was my mod, I'd totally add that as a random thing along with a CB radio or HAM setup that would allow you to talk via in-game VOIP to other people across the map. -

Hotfix Build 1.7.2.5 Rolling Update

After our server was updated, I rebooted it and logged on with our client PCs patched with the latest Beta and 1.7.2.5 installed from the Torrent in a new folder and got stuck at the loading screen. Figuring I was kicked by BE, I reverted to 1.7.2.4 and logged in, only to be killed instantly on spawn by nothing. Respawned in Debug plains with nothing, except another guy looking at me (probably tried to log in at the same time). He vanished. I logged and shut down the server. Restarted a few seconds later and respawned in Otmel with nothing. Logged, restarted the server and logged in again with 1.7.2.4 and appeared in Otmel with all my gear minus all my ammo but still with both weapons. We then got kicked for BE not responding. It took till about midnight CST before we could log in and stay logged in without BE kicking us or anyone trying to join. A customer logged in and discovered that tents are not saving and items can be duped incredibly easily from tents and vehicles by anyone, so we shut the server down overnight to prevent abuse. Hopefully a fix will roll out today? However for now, the artificating on all our machines is gone. -

Look at the update/tent thread. We had to lock/restart multiple times to get everyone's stuff back. There is currently a bug where tents and vehicle contents do not save, so we locked and shut down the server until it settled down to stop items being duped. As far as I know, there is no rule that says we cannot shut our server down; we did it to protect our players and hopefully a hotfix will be out sometime this weekend. In the meantime it will be up today but expect frequent restarts while we work on the issue and monitor the release thread. -

What do you think? It's an interesting moral question brought up by one of my customers last night. Is it okay to use hacks/scripts in the defense of your own server from malicious script kiddies? I actually welcome the horror roleplayers. We had one last night who would play creepy jewelry box sounds and appear behind random people ala Slender. Scared the crap out of some of my regulars! However, the dupers, thunderdomers and general asshats need to be stopped. Would this be ethical to do? Before you ask; no - we don't do it. It's just a question that I thought merited some discussion. -

I believe there's a ticket in for instances above a certain number cannot spawn vehicles. I'm not 100% sure. -

Will never happen. I've been an Everquest GM, Admin'd various servers from Quake2 through to BF3 and never, not once abused my powers. Ever. This is not new to me. I want to look after my customer base; my brick and mortar business depends on them, so I have a little more at stake here than most. However, ALL server admins need tools to protect their own communities. We're not special in any way or deserve any kind of special treatment; I would just like to give as much protection as possible. -

One of the issues I've found is that because of Multiplay's setup, it's impossible to parse scripts.log to check for hackers - they all use the BE bypass anyway now, but it would be nice to see who is carrying the hacked-in items. With ESP/Invis/Teleportation, our staff can monitor the server in real time. Yes. We are a business and we have someone watching the server during business hours but we cannot be up 24/7. We have started quite a following for the mod within our LAN center community (there's a 300+ player LAN event next weekend, so expect the server to be full for those 48 hours) and we want to protect our regulars. We do not use scripts at all, but one of our customers brought up the idea last night after the Horror RPer spooked us all out :) -

No, that's not what he meant. He meant using tools such as invisibility/teleportation to keep an eye on suspected players. Nothing at all destructive. No spawning, no abuse. Basically use the hacker scripts in place of the admin tools we should have anyway.
