Hey Leeroy I saw you on today. You seemed to be having a bad time a Balota airfield. My only qualms about this server is they don't respect the Chernarus free press. This was how the admin team greeted me on my first day.

See how 5 heavily armed players, a ural and a helicopter combine to kill one pacifist Journo with a makarov. You think some people would respect the free press of Chernarus but no even after all my pleas they still open up on me. As comic book guy would say "Best.. Death... Ever"

Funnily enough just jumped in to see if they have a forum or website to share the video for lols. And they accuse me of hacks. In their minds the acts of banditry were justified because I was in their Ural which had high end gear. Alas the Apocalypse has already come to this, where stuff is more important than human life.

Thanks for the kind words but there no need for vigilante style justice. Like Wikileaks the Chernarus Free press will not be silenced by heinous acts of banditry. This execution occurred at DayZ US-LA Private Hive ip 64.94.100.127:2302 which was a different server from the SurviveDayZ server that BillySRX killed the Cherno 7 - or at least had a part in it's demise. Although I do not endorse the use of banditry for the sake of reportage I would happily record any proceedings that were to occur. edit: Beaten to the punch by Trizzo.

I agreed. I only jumped in the back so they would feel safe and we could talk. At no point do I fire on them or jump in the front of the Ural and try to drive off with it. Oh well - it did make an entertaining death.

It's buried halfway through this thread but if you're looking for some take away from the computer DayZ reading this weekend. The first 120 pages of my DayZ novel Survivors & Bandits can be read offline. I will allow the name Cherno 7 to exist not because I led that merry band, which I didn't I was just along for the ride, but because we all met in Cherno and didn't kill each other - which was what made it pretty special. So here's to the Cherno 7 let us all meet again for fun and frivolity. -

I'm not in the habit of pushing my own videos but this is a good example of what happens when you have faith in humanity. There's a bit of setup but just jump forward to 5:55 and see what happens when people don;'t shoot first.

And you would have just killed another bunch of pixels like any other FPS. By not just shooting on sight we had a much more interesting experience. To be honest I thought someone was going to betray the group at some point. I was so glad it didn't go down like that as it restored my faith in the mod and it's community. -
My DayZ novel will be kind of like World War Z (which I love) but have fiction parts mixed in with interview transcripts. There's a link to the sample in my sig that has the first 19 chapters (120 pages) The YouTube channel are those interviews reenacted in the editor - I'm always looking for my subjects to interview. So if you're keen just make contact.

Thanks I felt very lucky to be a part of it. Sidechat is what I really miss in the public hives - hopefully the standalone finds a way to incorporate it. Maybe a found object like a radio with different channels for different chats. -

Sorry I missed all the fun and the chance to cover your event. First my Fallujah install was corrupted but it took a bunch of tries to work that out. Then it took me ages to figure out that I kept getting kicked before logging in because I was uploading 3GB of movies to YouTube at the same time and basically maxing out my uploads. Then the server kept ping kicking me and my TS failed. So sorry I did try maybe the next one - I hope you all had fun out there. -

I've been looking to cover an event for a while so this would be a perfect opportunity.
