I've only had a few "goes" at DayZ, so I've been trying to play stealthily and get some decent gear together. Yesterday I had an awesome DayZ "experience" it's actually the first time I have really interacted with other players that didnt involve them putting bullets into me....anyways, heres the story: I spawned at the western end of Electro-town and quickly made my way into a building near the water where I found a hatchet, a toolkit and some tin cans. On my way further into the town I managed to aggro some zombies and despite getting away I was down to about 6600 blood and with a broken leg. Now at this point I thought "fuck it...who wants to crawl around for hours trying to find stuff?" then I realised that, well, this is part of the game..so I got my hatchet out and started taking down zeds...I was kinda surprised how easy it was, and then I also noticed that some z's have loot, so I managed to find some beans and get a bit of my health back. This made me think I could find some stuff to heal my broken leg, so I kept crawling until I found some military-looking place. I crawled over to one of the buildings and noticed there was a bunch of barbed wire, which luckily I had the toolkit to be able to remove it. I crawled upstairs looking for loot, and as I was at the top of the stairs, I heard something and turned around - there are two guys in ghillie suits with rifles pointed right at me...they immediatly start asking "friendly?" ....now I've been playing DayZ solo and didnt have my mic hooked up so I'm frantically trying to get that sorted and rmemeber what the keys for voice chat were...anyways I tell them I'm friendly and put my hatchet away. I asked them if they knew how to fix a broken leg, guy says I need to get morphine. I tell em "ok I'll go find some morphine then"....guy says "wait a sec" then proceeds to heal my leg...what a champ. I asked em where they got the cool clothes from, and they said "head up north" and then they ran off. Two minutes later I hear "hey mate are you still there?" I say "yeah" then he says "got a present for ya"....these guys either found or had a spare ghillie suit they just gave it to me. After that we went our separate ways and I managed to get sniped, which is kinda shit....but anyways I think this story just goes to show that even when you think its all over...help can be just around the corner. When I grow up, I wanna be a wasteland medic
