I found I get them a lot less if I put video card memory on default. Sometimes I still have to flush but not near as bad

LOL @ the Jesus jokes. I didnt even think of it like that! I do feel bad though. I hate that it seems everytime I get setup with a good weapon and lots of food and water I get killed out of no where. If he had be running away from me I would have just let him go. That AKM scared me.

Sounds like a really cool idea! Even if hackers do show up, its not like you will lose your "main" playthrough character

A few days ago I was in Stary Sobor raiding the military base when I hear someone singing "In the Jungle the mighty jungle the lion sleeps tonight." I was a little confused at first and made sure I switched the chat to direct communication. I can still hear the guy. "ok" I thought, hes here and I'm sure he knows I'm here. Now up to this point, many times I have been shot and killed in these tents, always from a guy on the hill overlooking the tents/town. Of course I am in a tent looking directly at the hill and I keep scanning but I do not see him. Over the mic I hear him say "anyone there?" I type "friendly?" even though I know his reply could be a lie or he could say yes and then shoot me anyway. He says a few things over the mic that I dont hear to well due to ambient sounds in the game. He then clearly tells me "why dont you drop all of your stuff, and I'll let you live." I reply "no" and I switch my AKM (that I just aquired) to full auto. We actually talk a little bit and we both conclude that there is no way that we can trust eachother as we are both use to just being shot on sight. This is the first time I've really talked to anyone in game. He starts talking again, but as he does, a zombie spawns infront of my tent and charges in at me. Forgetting to change from my AKM to the 1911 I had, I shot at it killing it. This leads to the whole town coming into my tent. He tells me over the mic that the whole town is coming after me now. Eventually I switch back to the pistol and get knocked out by a few zombies. I hear him over the mic "I can hear you dying in there". I wake up and finish the last zombies with my pistol. I'm about 4500 blood and the stranger that was talking to me over the mic is now infront of my tent shooting some zombies are attacking him. I have a clear shot to kill him and take his stuff I thought. After a few quick burst his silenced AR makes easy work of them. He asks me if I need blood which I tell him I do, he tells me location of two downed helicopters with a chance of finding some blood at them. He then makes me an offer. I leave town and the base and he will let me live, aslong as I leave and dont turn around as he wants to continue to loot the town. At this point I have enough food and water to last a long time and enough AKM ammo to last a while too. He then makes the point of "If I wanted to kill you I could have already." Which he easily could have while I was knocked out in the tent. Based on this and this alone I agree to his terms and crouch run out of town. I free look back but dont ever see him again. I should have asked what his name was, but this was my first friendly encounter and hopefully not the last. I've still yet to shoot on sight and this gives me hope that there are other people that I could meet and actually talk it out instead of killing one another.

Yea it was very nerve racking because I was ready for the guy to pop into the tent and unload on me. I was in the trees on the hill looking into the the town/barracks and thought I heard foot steps but never saw anyone. It was getting dark so it was hard to see. It possibly was him and I just missed seeing him. Ive never negotiated with anyone in a video game before. I found this mistrusted adventure more fun then shooting at someone from a distance. Ive played enough BF3.

I started the game like 2 weeks ago and I also agree with no weapons. I think the amount of goods you start with is spot on. No weapons, no food, no water and a simple bandage is perfect. Gives you the sense of urgency to find basic supplies and a way to defend yourself. Without the high level of difficulty this game would be boring in my opinion.

Ive seen videos of this guy on Youtube screwing with people, funny stuff. I dont mind all hackers. Not to be off topic but for the first 40 seconds of the video you have a white icon far right of the screen in the middle. What does that symbol mean? I get it now and again?

I feel the same way! Its usually after I survive a day or two and get some good gear and enough food and drink to last me a long time. I get real nervous just hunting for better weapons because it means I have to go into dangerous places that are more likely to have well equiped survivors there for the same reason I am. I dont fear small farms or towns as I haven't ran into anyone in them yet. I play on low population servers though (5-10 people) to avoid hackers so I'm sure on a 50 person server I would fear all towns.

So far Ive only died due to being shot on sight. I suicide myself to zombies if I do something stupid like drop my backpack on accident and you can't pick it back up. Anyway, best gun I've found is an AK74 in Stary Sobor, other then that I haven't found any places with better packs, clothes or scoped assault rifles. I found a downed chopper that was looted but that's it. Where is a good place to find guns? I've searched air fields too but at best found a shotgun. Any tips for a n00b is appreciated.

I'm new and have yet to be sniped by anything other then a scoped assault rifle. However I think most people who shoot on site or horde rare weapons would decline drastically if duping was eliminated from the sound of things

I'm new to the game and really enjoying it. I've only seen a few people but it seems everyone shoots on site regardless if I have anything. So anyway, I respawn after someone shot me while I was hiding in the grass watching another guy get chased by zombies (being careful not to get noticed by him as I didnt want him to attack me). After a quick run down the coast I come up onto a town and I hear someone over a mic with almost a robot like voice. He had what appeared to be a silenced M16 (M4? I dont know the guns very well yet) and he spots me laying in the grass again trying to just avoid zombies and him. He looks at me and I type that I have nothing as I just spawned and he says "have weapon". He drops an AK with full ammo. He then switches to a 50 cal and has it dead set on me. I thank him for the AK and understand I am now a threat which is why the .50 is set on my forehead. He caustiously backs up and I tell him I'm leaving town, as not to make a move he deems threatening. This was the first person I saw that didnt shoot at me, but the thing that struck me is that he had the AK, M16(?) and a .50 Cal (I think). Is it even possible to have that many weapons? Could he have hacked all these weapons or do people really give out awesome guns with full ammo? So far I really enjoy the game and I'm not upset that a guy killed me in a town even though I had nothing to hurt him with. Or that another guy shot me in the back when I had no idea he was there as I was being entertained by a guy running from a horde of Zeds. Just have to be more careful I guess

Well it was very nice of him to give me an AK and not a bullet in the head :) I haven't shot at anyone yet as I wouldn't want to kill someone who has like 30hours in a character
