Im already having a hard time chosing between Dayz and Gw2 if this keeps up i may just play this more the GW2.

No. Part of the experiment is how we handle dealing with strangers. We can make our own groups' date=' we don't need a game mechanic to define them. [/quote'] Well at this point I can hardly tell my real life friend from the next guy because we all look the same. Also as I said if you don't like the factions then just chose lone wolves and you can play the game as normal nothing will have changed for you. Also the experiment as you want to call it could be the same and seeing how many will chose what faction.

But wouldn't you rather know who is enemy or friendly rather then Just being shot in the face because you have no clue what that person is all about. an like I said if you really oppose the factions chose lone wolves an go on as normal in the game the same you have played before.

The way I see it is it gives some unity to the faction you are fighting for. Also allowing you to tell who the enemy's are. It would create more of a community and team of players. Right now we have no clue who friendly an enemy are. It's really annoying because trying to trust most people is harder then just simply staying away from them. The game really should have more team play involved other then the random group of friends or clans. This adds so much to it I see no downsides. If you really wanna just play the game the way it is now just stay a lone wolf and play as normal. Pick lone wolves an the game would gone on as normal no forcing anyone to be anything.

Im not even sure if this is possible in the game but how about the idea of factions? You must chose a side to spwn into. Friendly fire is on but if you kill to many of your own people then you will get pushed from survivors to the neutrals. Kill a few neutrals and you get pushed down to bandits.Keep killing your own type at this point that would be killing bandits and you get pushed into the lone wovles! You can always kill anyone from any other faction type with no penalty to you as long as you dont kill to many of your own. The friendly fire kills should be low say 5 and you get moved to the next faction but should also slowly reset over time. So if i kill 1 of my own faction then 7 days with no other friendly kills it resets to zero. but if i get a second friendly kill then the 2nd friendly kill would take 2 weeks to go back down to 1 kill. Thus making it 3 weeks total of time before making back to zero friendly kills. To get out of the lone wolves you must wait 2 weeks before you get a message asking what group you would like to rejoin. While in this new group if you even chose to go to a new group hell you could stay lone wolves if you like, you are in a trail period for 2 weeks in this group and if you kill more then 2 friendlies you get put right back into the lone wovles . Just because you chose bandits though doesnt mean you cant work with someone from the survivors for some reason that maybe needed. or a neutral teaming up with a bandit. hell maybe a few from each faction teamed up just for the sole purpose to clear a town of zombies but after the town was clear all friendly ideas are off. its all your choice. Of course the idea behind this is to have some sort of idea who the enemy is. Everyone would look much different, everyone would have several sets of uniforms but would stay slightly resemblance of all uniforms. for example bandits might all wear different types of military uniforms. Also once more things get put into the game more parts of the map would become much more valuable thus creating a turf war over parts of the map. say maybe a military base with good weapon loot. Or farming gets putinto the game and good fertile land for crops is somthing people would fight over. Maybe somthing like: Survivors- People who just want to survive and get along, they tend to be friendly an cautious. All they want to do is survive hopefully all while being friendly :) but if need be will shoot you dead. Survivors would like nothing more then to be able and rebuild get life back the way it was! Bandits- These type see the apocalypse as a good thing and use this hard time to their advantage. They love the idea to be able to murder and kill people to steal there belongings without the threat of the police. Would love to see the world stay the way it is as it works out better for them this way. Well do anything to make sure zombies survive to keep the world in the hell hole it is so they can contiue their looting spree. The neutrals- A group of people who could really care less one way or another. Mostly made up of traders who like to find anything they can to trade it for more stuff. While most of them miss the old way of life have given up on the idea of it going back the way it was and would rather just live life one day at a time. They see no purpose in trying to help rebuild because they dont think humans could ever manage that with all the damn zombies and bandits running around. Neutral or no they will still put a bullet between your eyes. The Lone Wolves- a group of people who not only would rather work alone but has been shuned out of every group around. No one trusts or likes you and would rather see you dead. Your ideas are your own and you would rather not fall into a group of anytype. everyone is the enemy and only when you may need a little help here and there will you work with others. This whole post could also be for nothing if its not even possible to do in game. The factions i came up with im sure could be much different and thought out but its late and i just randomly through some stuff out there.

Implement a currency item such as gold coins.

currency has no purpose here. I dont see why i would take some random coin or paper rather then trade you food for water or gas for bullets or anything useful for anything useful. Not ever would i have use for something useless like money. Currency only works in real life because when you go to work for 8 hours and get paid you would need some sort of payment. Yes they could pay you in foor or water etc but really its much easier to give you something to use to go and buy stuff you want or like. If everytime you went to work and they gave you chickens but instead you wanted a tv that wouldnt really work out instead they give you neutral currency and you go and use it to your liking. Now read that an ask what purpose could currency have in this game? What would you buy with it? more beans? wouldnt it be better to trade water for beans? instead of useless paper for beans. -

Not that i would steal anything from you but im pretty sure a server ban on someone for stealing is not allowed or even ok. Stealing and killing is part of the game it happens. It sounds really cool and gives more reason to play the game and another goal. Maybe a good idea would never let anyone trade straight from the area where everything is stored but instead have your mailmen take the trading items to an area of your chosing. this way they never know where the trading location is. Also like i said you should really find out about server bans for theft as im pretty sure that you cant ban someone from a server for that,i could be wrong though. -
While i will agree the game needs more stuff to do to keep it going, at the same time this is alpha and clearly will be getting more things to do as time goes on. If you dont like whats happening in game now maybe leave and check back in a few months. Also using the term "gay" to describe somthing the way you did makes no sense and really shouldnt be used, just makes you look like a troll. Also saying that the game is being nerfed sounds pretty dumb and makes you seem more like a troll. So if you are serious then it sounds like you may not like the game your playing and should check back every once in a while, but honestly i think its a troll post trying to piss people off.

It would be nice at this point if someone from the Dayz team or Rockect himself would make a statment on this so we can at least get some sort of idea here. Its pretty obvious alot of people have issues with the dark. Just the thread alone should say somthing its grown pretty large. Could we get somthing from you guys maybe like, "there is nothing we can do to fix the issues because of the engine of the game". maybe, " we could change it but at this point we like it how it is" or even " we are thinking of ways to change this" how about "We have no plans for this issue yet and have not even disscused it " or " we have plans to change this and would like more feedback " i will even take this " it stays the way it is stop talking about it we dont need any feed back on night time anymore". Simple reason for a word from the team is to see at this point if its even worth debating about. If it cant be fixed due to the game itself then we may as well move on. or even if they say its staying the way it is and no feedback is needed then we can move on. But if they say they want feed back and for us to keep talking then by all means keep the debate going. just give us some sort of clue what we need to do with this topic and if there is at least a point in even talking about it. -

I would say something close to what you are saying and showing in the pictures is very true for what most of us want. Only thing i will add is just outside of that small area that you can see well around you i think you should be able to see silhouettes. maybe like 5-10 meteres (about 16-32 feet) outside of that you can see silhouettes of people and zombies. Then farther out have silhouettes of buildings also and trees. Once again no one is asking for a darkened day time to were i can see everything like daylight but just faded black. What we want is just enough to understand what is going on very close to us. Hell even the backround picture on the fourms have night time as dark with silhouettes of zombies. But even the background on the fourm is much more light then i think anyone is asking for. -

Well he (rocket) clearly made the game for people to play other wise he would only have 1 small server that is locked. Also flares and chem lights are easy to use. But its annoying that i have to become this large glowing becoan to even see a few feet in front of me. Im not asking to see miles down the road im just asking to be able to see around me and a few feet around me. not more then 5-10 feet, an im not even talking full on being able to see im just saying a little bit of light so i can make some stuff out around me. Not sure why thats so hard to accept. -

yeah true , trust me im not bashing it at all sounds cool. I was just wondering what purpose it has because it seems like a chat room out side of the game that already has a global chat. either way ill give it a try sounds interesting.
