Yeah I have done it also hitting it with anouther ATV or car... So far this has worked 100% of the time... Once I was on a steep hill side and had to keep doing it untill my rear was facing down hill. Took alot longer than normal but it still worked.

Is there a trick to finding crashed helicopters?

From what I understand downed choppers spawn/re-spawn on every server reset. They can appear in open fields anywhere on the map. If you want to find more downed choopers join a server that resets every 4-6 hours. -

I've done it once also but didnt want to make any promises.. It's better just to avoid the buggy bridges and docks.
