    I believe Rocket should..

I think if anything, rocket has shown the industry how you SHOULD make a game. Open it early, let people PLAY IT, let the popularity build, and try things out on a realistic sample of your retail playerbase. If people weren't bitching about bugs & hackers, they'd be crying for rocket to hire a community manager, hounding him for more interviews and game details, etc. So that's really a moot point. And as you can see, there really isn't much to SHARE that will keep a fanbase entertained for years during development. Devs have to spend ridiculous amounts of time making dev diaries, talking about random features they might put in, ultimately creating unrealistic expectations & more features than they can actually deliver, etc.
  2. Days Ahead is a group that ALREADY KNOWS EACH OTHER. If you want, make a thread advertising a sort of pickup game. Find friendly clans and try and coordinate where and when you play. Guard a city and enforce a "weapons in pack" policy to create safe havens (obviously pick a defensible location, and have guards make sure people are keeping their distance, ie. not stealing out of each other's packs -- maybe use wire fencing & sand bags in this regard). If you see a player in-game, take your time and see how he's playing the game. Don't just run up to him and yell "FRIENDLY???" You *know* that odds are he's not friendly, so follow him first and see if he's hunting players or just trying to survive. Do *something* other than just crying like whiny children. Re: bandit skins, removing them isn't what increased banditry. What you have is the result of repetition of games. As players repeated the "game" and employing the friendly strategy failed, they decided to adopt the KOS strategy. So yes, doe eyed friendlies turned into KOS bandits; or they just avoided other players. Either way, to a friendly this would appear to be an increase in bandits. And as people flocked to the game for sandbox PvP, of course more bandits appeared. I mean let's just say it like it is. A bunch of PvE players saw CHKilroy's videos and assumed RANDOMS would interact the same way as a pre-made clan. This is just idiotic.

    Bus Driver's Union

It's funny how often I see players doing stuff like this. Judging by the few whiny prats on the forums you'd think it never happens; maybe they need to do more than just run into an open field yelling "FRIENDLY???"
  4. Bandits actually make the MOST noise, and should be the easiest to track down. And often times this leads to epic bandit vs bandit group fights. But the survivors don't see those, they just see themselves getting slaughtered like pigs and complain on the forums. Try hunting bandits by sound; they should be making a lot of it. Or continue to treat this game like a chatroom with zombie AI's like an idiot.
  5. Also, I would much prefer friend lists (enabling tags on mouse-over). The rest will sort itself out.

couldn't you just search posts by rocket?

    THE FLOOD IS COMMING

    You're part of the problem.
  8. That is another theory. Bad players have stopped playing, thus survival rate rises.
  9. YES Less backstabbing = survivors trying to make groups. NO It won't stop the forum monkeys -- they want murder PUNISHED by the game.
  10. No it's a pipe dream. What good does a tag along with no weapon give me? What happens when he GETS a gun? You'd shoot him for the same reason you shoot some one now. (whether it's banditry, protecting your loot, or taking his)
  11. NO. Makarovs help keep griefers away from spawn zones. And I don't even want to see how many people train zombies onto new spawns.
  12. I don't know how many times people can tell you to get off the coast you moron. If you set up a trade post in a smart location it'll take 20+ minutes to get back to it. No one's going to makarov rush it. And most bandits I've seen are way more kitted out than the average survivor. You need to stop standing in the spawn zone crying about people spawning around you.
  13. Hopefully rocket implements a friend list so you can enable tags on mouse-over for people you know (should be mutual so I give you tags iff you give me tags). Regarding bandit reputation, it'd be cool if you could flag a player as a bandit and have it share that info with your friends. So if Max talks in direct, I see his name in red b/c I flagged him a bandit. Or I see his name in orange if one of my friends mentioned he was a bandit. Or I see his name in yellow if a friend of a friend mentioned he was a bandit. Etc. Honestly I feel like this is all that's needed to create a robust social structure in the game.
  14. This would make it so ridiculously hard to win a fight, and would give power back to the zergs again, who can just keep popping each other back to life. (the natural anti-zerg nature of the game is a huge draw for sandbox PvP fans) I'm sorry but getting tossed out to the coast is part of dying. It's a necessary part of the game in order for players to not permanently be caught in a stalemate with another group. Re: compass+map, I take it you have no second monitor. What I do is check the path I'm going to take and memorize things like # of hills, roads, landmarks, etc. Having to find a compass + map isn't central to the game, but a lot of people think it gives a more genuine "lost" experience at the beginning. Maybe it can be frustrating once the novelty's worn off and you just want to meet up with friends, but that's what a full loot game is about. Alt+tabbing to see a map is not difficult.

    Incentives to Cooperative Play

If you've ever fallen over from a wound and seen the hourglass ticking down' date=' the epi-pen jolts you back to life. Otherwise you're basically just forced to sit there comatose and hope you don't get shot again. [hr'] Grouping with strangers carries the risk of betrayal. Thanks Captain Obvious. Join a survivor clan? Plenty recruiting. Group with ONE player you trust and then try and group with a stranger so backstabbing you means he'll be shot by your friend? This isn't rocket science. Stop running into zombie infested cities yelling "ANY FRIENDLIES IN CHERNO???"
