We already have blood bags and bandages, and a group would loot your stuff for you when you respawn. The issue isn't value, it's trust. Groups are ridiculously valuable in this game, but you can't trust some one you don't know. I think a reputation system would go a long way. The way I see it, you can have a group list (enable tags on mouse-over for anyone in you REALLY trust), and a friend list of people who you've had friendly encounters with. Friends would have their usernames show green in in-game chat/voice. Now if a friend of yours marked some one a friend, their name would show blue. If a friend of a friend marked some one as a friend, their name would show up light blue/gray/whatever. In the same vein, if you mark some one as a bandit after they betrayed you or robbed you (or you deduced who your killer was in some other fashion) or simply trolled you in chat, their name would show up red. If your friend marked some one a bandit their name would show up orange. If a friend of a friend marked some one a bandit their name would show up yellow. Of course this still requires you take the risk of initiating conversation with a random, but at least there is some reputation system simulating word of mouth. And as players create safe cities and the like, its value will increase exponentially. In the mean time though, go to the survivor HQ sub-forum and find groups of friendlies there. Try and get various friendly groups to play on the same server, or even coordinate events at specific times. There is a 50 player cap (or less on some servers), it isn't hard to find a few dozen friendlies to saturate the server. -

[/quote'] Yes and like I said in the next sentence, all I did pre-patch was stealth around with my group, and it was really cool to realize you're not alone in the city after the fact. But I hear a lot of people saying that post-patch with harder zombies randoms are forced to team up with each other. I'm wondering if those randoms were previously okay with going solo BECAUSE the zombies were so easy to sneak around.

Join a group of friendlies. Help set up a trading post. Try to join an anti-bandit clan. Hell, try coordinating with various friendly groups out of game. Coordinate which servers you play on to skew the survivor:bandit ratio in your favor. Set up RP events (ie. get to green mountain radio tower, then olsha radio tower, in order to get EVAC), etc. -

The trick is to play the same way even when you have good gear. It's that much more fun. Like you said, what good is that shiny gun if you're not enjoying the time playing with it. -

I don't know about fun or not fun, but I know I don't even bother trying to stealth anymore. You're *going* to be found by other players if you prone crawl around for an hour or toss tin cans around -- just better off sweeping the tree lines, hitting the city fast and hard, and getting out ASAP. It's a shame because I used to really enjoy crouching around in cities only to realize that there are other survivors sneaking around like rats as well (only less carefully than me, they forget that you shouldn't just be sneaking b/c of ZOMBIES :D).

He doesn't need to post a suggestion. Rocket is more than smart enough to fix shit himself without a thousand armchair devs posting retarded ideas. He posted an ISSUE -- that broken bones basically put you in purgatory now that we start without morphine. Not a BUG for the bug reports forum, or a suggestion for the suggestions forum, but a general issue he had with the latest patch. And a pretty unique issue as far as I've seen. -

The only thing I use those #'s for is to know if that guy I shot from 100m with my pistol is actually dead or not. As far as I'm concerned they should be thrown out completely (and probably will be considering it's called the "debug monitor" right now) With regards to pickup groups being forced to communicate in-game and "give away their position," I think you can easily ask the guy to join your ventrilo can you not? Sure, rocket could use the in-game radio item and you could have your group communicate on a unique frequency, but I feel like this should be lower on the priority list since you can easily hop onto teamspeak, ventrilo, mumble, whatever. -
