Bumped into a buddy of mine while he was walking down stairs, he died. Tried to turn while I was proned next to a tree, died. -
The only drawback to the server hop cooldown is the initial hunt for a server. I will often join a server and find out it has tags on or something stupid and want to switch. Or be on a full server when some friends log on and want to play. 5 minutes might be bearable though, knowing that it's hamstringing all those exploits. I think the 1 minute to log out bit is a no brainer. That should have been implemented months ago.

No they just like being able to cheat and look around corners, everything else is just bullshit. That said, I'm fine with just playing on 3dp=0 servers.

Fought an axe murderer in balota, thirst starts blinking. Go to every building in cherno, not a single food/soda/canteen in the entire city. Die of thirst. Great gameplay rocket.

Seriously though, I think the issue has to do with the way loot only spawns if nothing is on the spawn location. So people take what is useful, and leave the trash. Then the next time loot spawns it only spawns in the locations not covered with trash, next guy takes what is useful, leaves the trash, until eventually every spawn location is covered with trash and nothing spawns. Edit: to the lolnoob comments, I could just re-arm at my camp but I wanted to see just how badly rocket was fucking over newbies after seeing 1000+ complaint posts.

Did you not see the second link I posted? Go help make a survivor city. There are far better deathmatch games than DayZ, that's not what sandbox PvP is all about. It is about how what you thought you were going to do almost never pans out, and having completely random events shape your play. Figuring out who's in your corner of the world and what they're trying to do, and getting the advantage. -

There's simply no translation to the game. In real life I would use the guy's past to make an informed judgement on whether I could trust him. I would likely trust an unarmed MIT professor. This is a *videogame* and the meta is completely different. With regards to what type of person I would be post-apocalypse, I'd probably try and rebuild civilization on an island somewhere after gathering as many "trustworthy" people as possible. -

Find a group. Do something interesting. You can still find a group now via forums. Yea there should be a way to find groups in-game (tools to help players build survivor cities or whatever). No it wouldn't mean fewer bandits in-game. You'd die just as much if you're running ON roads yelling "ANY FRIENDLIES AROUND???" or walking right up to every other player you see and saying "HI THERE." -

No what you're doing is tossing in suggestions by people who are completely misdiagnosing the problem. "Oh removing makarovs will improve early gameplay says the PvE players? That's easy I can do that!" Newbies get spawn camped, players just start running out in the open till they stumble into a life worth keeping, zombie trains galore b/c who cares if everyone knows where you are you have nothing. "Oh PvE players think CZ550's are killing them too much? I can nerf CZ550 spawns!" Except groups used winchester + CZ550 and put up a decent fight against groups armed with military gear. You're balancing the game based on complaints by bad players who want to play zombie co-op in the spawn area. Period. FPS + sandbox. Many people haven't tried sandbox PvP until now. It's a shocker I know. It has nothing to do with by gamers for gamers' date=' experimentation, or anything like that. It is a sandbox game, which inherently has dynamic gameplay. Do you honestly think you tweaking zombies, removing pistols, bandit skins, etc, is what got 100's of thousands of people playing? It was zombies and sandbox. That's it. And there are actually a few zombie sandbox games in the pipeline from before DayZ even came out. One already used kickstarter for cash. Stop trying to fix what isn't broken, and add the shit that needs to be added so your game beats them to market. That's it. You're wasting your time with changes like zombie LoS, no pistols on spawn, nixing CZ550's, removing bandit skins, adding heartbeats, and everything else that tries to pander to a playstyle that simply wants PvE safe zones in a sandbox game. You can either add NPC cities/guards or not. That's literally what it comes down to. EVE-style security isn't a bad thing, just make up your mind, quit trying to micro-patch to appease various playstyles with every patch, or another game will go retail and you will be left with 5 players testing your game (see below) Yea I'm sure BIS would still keep you full-time on DayZ and even go ahead a stand-alone DayZ if only 5 people are left. -

It hurts my soul that you mentioned this in the same breath as Ultima Online. The zerging was a joke really, and the skill ceiling for PvP wasn't even comparable to games like UO and AC. Don't get me wrong, I loved the concept of free-aim, sandbox MMO, but the PvP was just extremely shallow imo. I still played for some 7 months just to troll Wessex out of the game, but the things that would've made Darkfall great just never came. -

No one's forcing you to go to "0.0 space." There are plenty of places that get zero PK traffic. There are plenty of people making survivor groups. There are plenty more MAKING safe areas. And DayZ seems to be attracting players at a FAR faster pace than EVE ever did (for a $30 alpha in many cases). Your complaints literally boil down to being bitter about bandits killing you, and wanting the game to enact your revenge because you are incapable.
