  1. 95777'er here. Never picked up an item. New player. Banned within 30 minutes of starting. :/ I did add launch params (-cpuCount=4 -exThread=7) and tweak my CFG files (arma2.cfg and arma2oa.cfg), each to include this:
  2. Well, the reasoning is that this is client side, thus why all the bans are on version 95660 or later. Something was changed that, when mixed with other factors, is triggering these bans. The question is, what? Programs don't ban at random. Something benign is causing BE to issue bans.
  3. Not necessarily, Dwarden. BattlEye is partially client side, isn't it? If something regarding how quadcores are handled in the client that causes the client to act in a way BattlEye doesn't like, then there's the possibility that -cpucount=4 can cause issues with BattlEye. Right now, we know as a fact that simply running 95660+ alone will not cause issues. There're unknown additional issues when it comes to the bans. Judging from the similarities from that other thread, this might be one of them.
  4. It's possible that there's something in the update that's causing an issue if you run the game on a quad core. Unlikely, but possible.

    Does steam work on a CD key system? As in, when you purchase Arma via them, do they purchase a key and auto-auth it for you? Or do they do something else?

    So far it seems like if you used a patch 95660 or later, you risk getting da ban. I've also read a rumor that it only occurs if you're on an older server near NW Airstrip. Is airstrip on the coast with a dock?

    Another 95777 ban here. BattlEye definitely needs to get their act together. I'm in the same boat as you, WeOwnYourCat, as well as many other DayZ players. I'm sure this is some sort of mistake that will be reversed.

    Ha! I know, right? Over $30? $30 might be a lot for some people, but lawsuit a lot? That's just silly.

    Newbies comes to mind, specifically for hacked weapons. You need a certain amount of knowledge about a game in order to commit an offense within it, specifically what is and isn't allowed. Suppose you join a brand new game for the first time. You soon find a weapon nearby. What will you do? Probably pick it up. Next thing you know, you're banned! Now, some things like setting up a sting and banning for scripting is a no-brainer and isn't unethical, but stuff like dropping weapons ingame, that's where things get unethical!

    Not that I know of. I've only played the game for 30 minutes on a fresh install. Brand new player. Only the CFGs in my documents/arma 2 Nope Didn't even have the chance to find items :/ Steam Nope. Isn't that unethical? Test scenarios? Yes, hacking is unethical, but dayum!

    I was banned :( All I did was edit some CFGs (armaao.cfg and arma.cfg) to try and make the game run faster. I am so sad that this happened... I was really excited to try out this game I've heard so much about! ;_; But now nothing. I can't afford another copy either due to a tight budget, either. This has got me so incredibly bummed out...

    I just got this game less than 24 hours ago... I don't think I've even spent 30 minutes running around ingame... *sigh*
